I bought this guitar is a birthday present to myself last year from somewhere else. It’s probably the best acoustic guitar that I’ve played next to Martin. I’m very happy with it.
Just bought this guitar yesterday and I couldn't be happier. I was also looking at the Martin D15, but this seemed more versatile, durable and had more bang for the buck. Super stoked!
This video prompted me to buy my new 214CE CF SB DLX in the UK for £1,299. In my opinion, value for money due to ES2, Hard Case and Sunburst Gloss features that used to be available only with the higher models. I was absolutely delighted with the tone when I replaced the original Elixir Nanoweb with Elixir Polyweb strings.
This guitar is definitely on my list for my next guitar. Really it's between this and the 214CE plus. And when I say next, it's probably going to be the last guitar I'll ever need! I am a huge Sunburst fan, I have two other guitars with the Sunburst and I love that look! So that might pull me towards the deluxe!! I also want to thank you for doing a proper demonstration that highlighted the beauty of the sound of this incredible instrument! You have tremendous musicality and a wonderful touch that really draws out the sound! Sadly this is rarely present in these types of demonstrations, thanks for that, very refreshing!!
You demonstrated this one so as to allow the listener to actually hear what the guitar sounds like. Too often guitarsare played by demonstrators by thrashing the hell out of them, which shows nothing!
I think the p/u on the 214ce deluxe is the upgraded behind the saddle Expression 2 system, not the under the saddle ES-T p/u you mentioned. Seeing the three .050" alan key adjustment nuts behind the saddle indicates it is the Expression 2 system. Otherwise a great review.
AK FOX I was also down to this or the Martin GPCPA4. I just bought it online today (played in store first) since it was almost $200 cheaper than in my local shop. :-)
Good playing man. Great touch. Nice little melody. Not a big Taylor fan per se, but have been considering this one. There were a few moments where it got a bit twangy for my taste, which I’ve heard in other demos and is what keeps stopping me from just going for it.
I have a Takamine TAN15C - cedar/EIR - its really nice, like the sound, tho cant seem to find suited strings and tried almost all and nothing makes me smile. Gonna order some John Pearse 200L. Anyway, whats the best sounding guitar youve ever heard? IMO its any Godall, never like taylor or Martin. Is it weird?
Weird.. I watched a different 214ce demonstration on a different channel and wasn't really liking the way it sounded. But then I watch this one, and I love the way it sounds. 😐 I think they were both a Deluxe, but idk.
Maestro perdona me puedes decir donde encontrar una tienda física en España para comprar ése modelo qué estás haciendo la presentación gracias de antemano
you are right, this guitar is super nice. i did not know taylor made a 1 11/16 nut. they do, they are easier to play. i own a 812 and a 414. now i dont play them because the 214 deluxe sounds great and plays easier. go figure.
Can anyone advise? I have this guitar but there's fret buzz on the low strings around the 10th fret and beyond; that metal on metal sound when pressed but not plucked, does sound out when playing too.
The description of the ES system you stated was incorrect. This guitar has the ES2 system in it, not the ES-T. I just bought one of these so, I'm just sayin'....
Thanks Peter Cooper !!! At the moment there are no tabs available online.... as it is only a premature idea for a tune I've been fiddling with. Hope to have something polished up with it soon. Cheers!
Paul Bradley I have the Taylor coming in tomorrow and i also owned the J-15, had to sell it last year due to finances. They are totally different guitars. The J-15 is a full size dread while this is a cutaway. I didnt get to keep the J-15 long enough for it to open up but i can tell if you can afford both you should try both and decide for yourself. The Gibson is absolutely beautiful, but their necks tend to be a little wider, if you're shorter the Taylor might be more comfortable, but i doubt it will have the full sound the Gibson does in a cutaway. Theyre both beautiful, but over time the Gibson will open up much more because it doesnt have the layered filler wood the Taylor does. But, the Taylor layered rosewood will resist humidity a little better. If i had the money, id buy the J-15 again.
Hello Eddie that was a great review. iam definately going to get this guitar in a week or 2. have you got the tab for what you played in this vid coz it was beautiful ?
They use the Sennheiser e914 which is a small diaphragm condenser mic. It picks up quick transients of the acoustic guitar really well and seemingly better than LDC mics. No other room mic or pre-processing is used. I don't know about the interface though.

This particular Taylor is made in their Mexican factory but it is closely monitored by Taylor and they produce great guitars. I own one and couldn't be happier.
Hugo Rodriguez If you're looking for a guitar that is plug in ready and very easy to play this one is honestly tough to beat. Some of the 15 Series Martin guitars are also great for the $ if you're looking for something a little more traditional and don't need the pickup. Cheers!
thia guitar has great action is gorgeous professional looking and sounds great but I really dont like the neck. i really dont get how anyone likes v shaped necks. Shame I got a geeat deal on one but im selling it and getting a martin or a larrivee, aomething with a flatter neck.
Same here I really love the sound of this guitar love everything about it except the neck is the only part that is holding me from buying this. Something about the neck just doesn't feel right
Then you’re wrong and I’m sure you’ve never tried it in real life. Martin D42, D41, and D45 sounded the same to me til I played them. Go try guitars out and you won’t regret
@@Hai.tinh.583 I've played in real life and it was this impression that I had, to be able to notice any difference between Taylor's it has to be very different as a 12 fret with a different top of Spruce then you notice a difference. That is my opinion.
I bought this guitar is a birthday present to myself last year from somewhere else. It’s probably the best acoustic guitar that I’ve played next to Martin. I’m very happy with it.
Just got mine for almost a week now. Probably the first time I had a guitar with a quality sound. Happy to have this! 👌
Awesome playing ! Bought the ce rosewood version . Lovely
Matt, if you would make a CD of your guitar demos I would buy it for sure. You make whatever guitar you play sound so good!
Just bought this guitar yesterday and I couldn't be happier. I was also looking at the Martin D15, but this seemed more versatile, durable and had more bang for the buck. Super stoked!
:) exactly the same with me the martin seemed more fragile and didn't have the tone I was looking for.
Martin's lower end D guitars like you mentioned are nothing to write home about.
@@oceanhedonist265 The 15 series are all phenomenal

Taylor make fabulous guitars, and this sounds like one of them. Sound really great plugged in too.
Just got one! Sounds great and wonderful finish. Great case. Best guitar under $1000 I tried many and this one is bright and accurate.
This guitar is 1499
Beautiful playing , the best I've seen on showcasing this guitar, and it is a great sounding guitar
Ufff i have been watching this video for two weeks, i just cant belive that amazing sound and how beautiful this guitar is, just perfect!
Hugo Rodriguez Thanks Hugo! Very clear and sweet voice to this one, and at a very accessible price!
Cheers!
Beautiful playing
I chose this guitar over my more expensive ones for amplified sound playing live. So nice. Easy to play
I purchased my 214ce DLX SB after watching this and a few other videos. Thanks for sharing,
You demonstrated this one so as to allow the listener to actually hear what the guitar sounds like. Too often guitarsare played by demonstrators by thrashing the hell out of them, which shows nothing!
I totally agree!! That's how a beautiful sounding guitar should be demonstrated!!

Beautiful piece, my friend! Any sheet music/tabs available?
dude ...what a awesome beard
Beautiful sounding and very nice playing
Sweet playing...
Thanks for the video Matt! beautiful guitar
Great video and review as always. Vacillating between the 214ce DLX and the Martin GPCPA4. Tough call...
What did you end up getting. I looked at both and preferred the sound of this Taylor by far. But it can definitely be a personal preference.

That Taylor ce sb dlx I should get the case with it because the guitar is high as hell is that case included..☺️☺️☺️
Taylor claims it's the Expression 2 not the Expression T which is on the 100 and 200 (non deluxe) series.
Nice ax, nice playing, thanks.
I can tell you love sunburst guitar 😃
Please share how to play this little demo tune

Taylor 214ce dlx or Gibson j15?
Beautiful guitar and beard ;) I am down to this guitar or the Martin GPCPA4. Thanks for the review! Also, what tuning is this in?
Many thanks!! This tune is played in standard tuning.
Cheers!
What is that awesome song you are playing?
Eddie, thank toy for such a great review and a beautiful demo. I am looking to buy a Taylor. Would you recommend this one or the 224ce K-DLX?
great sound! what kind of pick do you use?
Is there any way you can release the tab to the demo? It's a great piece!
Are there tabs for this arrangement? Sounds great

Great video, thanks! What strings are you using and what gauge?
My local guitar store is selling one for £1,299. Is that worth it?
its ok played one today ..the best cheap guitar taylor makes
What kind of strings are you using on this Taylor CE Deluxe?
Which amp do you suggest for this guitar?

Is 210e & 214e are differrent only body style ?
I believe so. Dreadnought vs. Grand Orchestra shape is the biggest difference.

A hat. From a shop
Sweet! the music and guitar. my kids just bought me one 214 CE Koa DLX.

Thanks for nice video. How differs this guitar to regular 214ce?
+jazu From my experience, the normal 214ce is slightly more buzzier and the deluxe version has a better expression system.
