A fascinating article that I read after my chat with Ben last video. It looks at what makes choices meaningful in games-also follow Stephen Beirne, he’s a smart egg: www.destructoid.com/goodbye-c...

Literally the first quest leaves you no choice. Most of the quests are accepted even if you say no to them. What choices actually matter apart from choosing your faction?

Not even choosing a faction matters.

@@propheinx2250 Well it's the one that affects the world the most but not really the most interesting. Though I did like blowing Shaun and his stupid Institute to shit.

1st "mission" I was given by the institute. I've already chosen to be BoS. I've gotta help an institute courser bring a rogue synth in. I've already decided, in my head, that I'm gonna kill the courser then proceed to kill the synth to. (My bad. That's destroy, not kill. I'm BoS after all. Synths aren't people to me.) So I arrive and immediately try to destroy the courser. He only goes down, I can't seem to deliver the killing blow... so I fuckin talk to the pile of gears and scrap metal instead. He says something about me using a shutdown code when I reach the rogue synth. I reach the synth and choose to not use the shutdown code and just engage, planning to destroy it... but no, the synth shuts down anyway and I still can't destroy the courser. All I can do is kill the 2 raiders which ends in the courser reclaiming the synth. I feel like the only reason for it being this way, when you've pointed out a mission where you can actually have some choice on the outcome of the mission is because Bethesda hates the BoS. Every consecutive Bethesda owned fallout has made the BoS more shallow and racist than the last time.

Great video!! it is good to see the other side of the game, not only the complaining about how bad it is.

BETHESDA = a terrible studio with incredible studios working with it under ZeniMax.
