I really liked them tbh.. But the lack of consequences, either from atreus asking questions or people reacting different. That is something that could have been handled better

I have no idea what you're talking about. The Blades of Chaos feel awesome to use, and are a great edition to the game. It's very important during the Valkyries fight, as switching between the Blades and the Axe is a very good strategy, as it allows you to use a bunch of different runic attacks. They're great against large groups of small enemies.

the blades aren't fun because this games combat overall is barely fun.. the first games had like 75% of its combat based around the blades. the same criticisms about late gmae weapons could be said about the blade of artimus or the hammer in the first games since it was obvious they additions just for fun and clearly didnt have as much of the game designed around them but the hammer and spear had some pretty special stuff so i dunno maybe this new game is just not all its cracked up to be in terms of combat and maybe its more about deep emo story crap and not as much about kicking ass in general.. i remember getting significant upgrades all around when leveling the blades in the first game i barely see much change about the axe combat other than throwing in magic that is on cooldown. i used to watch combo video's of the first games and the new games combo videos are clearly far less impressive because the combat in general is just plain shallow by comparison. it might seem just as flashy but there simply is not as many options for diversity and style. this game is about story first and combat second and neither hit the mark for me. its gotta be the most overrated game ive seen since breathe of the wild or last of us.

I liked the video as a whole even though I deeply disagree with the conclusion. The blades introduce a new combat style that both complements and stands out from the axe.
This kind of assertion is largely subjective, so all I can say is that I found myself using both equally for different purposes. Large, brutish, or otherwise sturdy creatures I fought with the axe while many weaker ones I used the blades on. They were very situational and neither weapon just sat on my back. Nor did I find either particularly overpowered.
I would agree that I wished the blades were used more in the narrative following, but their main purpose was to express that Kratos finally accepted his godhood as a part of who he is. I just don't see the blades as a shortcoming of the game.
