    Fun fact you may not have known, but Pauleau (Furina’s love interest in the play) is voiced by Howard Wang who also voiced Luka in Honkai Star Rail and is also the fiancé/partner of Furina’s VA Amber Lee Connor’s.

    1:28:00 "It felt good to be back on stage again" had me break down ugly-crying. That experience of trauma ruining your passion for something you love, and then resolving the trauma to find that you still love that thing and can still enjoy it - it's all too real. Furina is the realest. She is literally me.

    I think I said it once, but the thing I like the most about you is that you're very respectful and also tolerant. Yes thank you! Not to mention I feel like people don't understand that Paimon doesn't seem to understand human emotions very well, she does care about people but doesn't know how to act nor "read the room" people don't understand Paimon obviously has the mentality of a child and not to mention we have no idea what she is or where she came from but it's pretty clear she had no one to guide her except the traveler and the traveler being a person who travels through different worlds he also doesn't really understand how to deal with human emotions. While it is annoying to see them be this way we have to understand how they see the world because the Traveler and Paimon are obviously not human and obviously don't have the experience of day to day human life

      @@Selkie_17but the fontaine writing alone has already shown that paimon is capable of basic empathy and even reading the room to an extent, like with lyney and lynette, and with navia, to name a few. she was really just done dirty in this SQ, whether it be the original script, the localization or voice direction, so it's perfectly understandable that people find her (and the traveler for some) to be less likeable here. doesn't take away from the whole SQ though since im pretty sure everyone enjoyed it.

    Most people feel proud of Furina about establishing boundaries and angry at Paimon for trying to convince her, but I just feel bad for Furina instead. She wasn't establishing boundaries, but instead building walls to hide herself and not get hurt again, even if that means rejecting what she wanted. She WANTS to perform again, showed by how she went to the Adventurer's Guild regretting her decision of turning them down. She was desperate someone helped her get out of her self-imposed castle, but on her own words, she doesn't felt she deserved anyone else's help, that's why she kept apologizing when she didn't need to. And we have an immediate parallel there: Dulphy. Lauwick takes a decision on behalf of her for her own well being, which gets Dulphy angry, similar to Furina. In the end, the same way Dulphy has to step down from the play and accept that Lauwick wasn't trying to control her but he was seriously concerned about her health, Furina too accepts that she was running away after replacing Dulphy in the final act, and that the Traveler in fact wasn't forcing her to do anything she didn't wanted to do, but tried to make her return to her true passion for her own good.

      @javahikage
      I would agree with you if it wasn't for the objective fact that The Traveler and Paimon, especially Paimon, are the absolutely least qualified people to know what is right for Furina. Literally everyone else in Fontaine knows Furina FAR better than The Traveler and Paimon do. Paimon even says it herself when she remarks that she doesn't even know if Furina's ever performed on stage. Paimon merely ASSUMED that Furina would be great simply because she faked being an Archon for 500 years.
      Also, I think you give Lauwick too much credit. Yes he cares deeply for Dulphy, however, listen to what he says when he's initially arguing with her and acquiesces to her desire to perform. It's obvious that his decision to seek a replacement came not from his desire to ensure Dulphy's well-being, but rather because he put the show above her desires. And that brings me to a theme that nobody has noticed regarding this Story Quest: Selfishness. It pervades all aspects of this Story Quest. The Traveler and Paimon are selfish in their pursuit of a solution for the Troupe, not once considering Furina's feelings and situation. Furina is selfish in her desire to close herself off from society and not help when she has been given the opportunity to do so (and rightfully so). Lauwick was being selfish by putting the show above Dulphy under the pretenses of doing what's best for her. Pauleau is selfish in his love for Aurelie. He believes, selfishly, that his love for Aurelie is greater than any of the others' love for her because of the type of love it was. And Vilmant is selfish in his guilt over his mistake that led to Aurelie being targeted. And then we have Dulphy who, herself, was being selfish, putting herself and her desires over the troupe and the performance (and her own health). But more than that, every member of the troupe spoke about how they wanted to honor Aurelie and how much she meant to them, yet, in reality, they put themselves above even Aurelie.
      And this brings us to the central theme of this Story Quest, something, again, nobody has mentioned so, I assume, they didn't notice: How one deals with grief and trauma. The four members of the troupe and Furina each represent different ways people deal with grief and trauma. Some people become obsessed with their work, forsaking companionship and understanding for it (Lauwick). Some people become obsessed with something to the point that they forsake even their own well-being in pursuit of that something (Dulphy). Some people shut out the closest people in their life because they feel that nobody else can understand their pain due to their feelings for the deceased being special and unique when they really aren't (Pauleau). Some feel guilty over the death of a loved one and, thus, sequester themselves away from everyone else out of fear of that guilt (Vilmant). And, lastly, some people actively reject and avoid triggers and causes of that trauma (Furina). These are valid reasons for these characters to be acting the way they do in this Story Quest. However, The Traveler and Paimon have no such reasons behind their actions. They are dealing with no grief or trauma in this specific instance. They have no excuse for acting they way they did. At the end of the day, Paimon was just being a dick to someone who had just experienced 500 years of loneliness and torture and The Traveler was enabling her. This is why people were justifiably pissed off at Paimon.
      You say that Paimon and The Traveler weren't trying to force Furina to do anything she didn't want to do. That is, objectively, false. They were, absolutely, trying to force Furina to do something she, desperately, didn't want to do. And they had no justification for it. They don't know her. At all. This was the first time they have EVER had a REAL conversation with her. Every other time they had interactions with her, there was always an ulterior motive, either from them or Furina herself. Until now, they didn't know ANYTHING about the true Furina. You say that they were doing this "for her own good." I say you are wrong. In order to do something for someone's "own good," you must, first, know that person well enough to know what is "good" for them. The Traveler and Paimon (especially Paimon), up until this quest, knew NOTHING about Furina. At the end of the day, this is, objectively, the worst Hoyoverse has ever written for Paimon and, to a degree, The Traveler. And it makes no sense because the way they act in this story quest goes against how they have been written up until this point in the game.

      @@ForeverDegenerate i mostly agree with you about themes of the story quest but i disagree about Traveler being least qualified to know what's the best for Furina. I'd argue Traveler is one of the most qualified to know what is right for Furina. Traveler is the only person who has seen Furina's past firsthand and real "Furina". Not even Neuvillette has seen it, he only knows about it. Traveler should be one of the most qualified just because of that. i would put people like Neuvillette and Clorinde as most qualified but Traveler should be above everyone else in terms of that except those two.
      Which is why i and some people feel especially bitter towards Traveler at the beginning because he/she came off as very insensitive for someone who knows and has seen Furina's trauma/suffering firsthand.

    This quest was kinda a weird one for me. On one hand, the hand I choose to focus on, I understand the feeling of depression and even trauma blocking you from doing what you love, and putting up walls to hide yourself from that, needing an outstretched hand to pull you back into it so you can keep moving forward instead of continuing to hurt endlessly. But on the other, as someone who’s always had trouble establishing boundaries, it felt a little odd at certain parts. Overall, I loved this quest, even if a few moments made me pause and have to think for a bit on whether or not I liked that specific part. Great video :D

      I think Paimon was too unaware of what she truly felt. She wasn't with us during Furina's scenes. And even if we relayed it to her she may have underestimated the whole tragedy, especially when most of the times she interacted with Furina, Furina was still playing the role. But after the story progressed, she kinda understood the situation. Although the "diva" and "drama queen" comments might irk us, it was more of how Paimon understands the situation. She wasn't one that can process situations that quickly and effectively in the first place.
      I'm still sure that those comments from her will still be present in the 4.3 quest. But I'm pretty sure it is mostly coming from how she views her.
