Your LumaTouch tutorials have been a valuable source of instruction and learning and this one was no exception. Thanks for sharing all tips, tricks and short cuts in such an easy to understand formate. Looking forward to the next lesson!
I'm so glad to finally learn about the triple tap/double tap to zoom in/out. I've been doing it accidentally and getting frustrated. But now that I know about it, I'm going to use it constantly. Great work!
Caroline greats tips, I would like to know how to change the size of several clips at the same time, I can't find the way, and I'm learning with your tutorials, thanks!
Hi there--thank you for writing. Here's the best way to do that. First, select a clip and size it the way you like it in the Frame and Fit editor. Then back on the Timeline, copy that clip using the Clipboard tool. Next, using the Multiselect button (checkmark in a box on the bottom bar), select the clips you'd like to have match the size you selected. Then, tap the Clipboard tool again, and ensure the Frame and Fit icon (crosshairs in a circle) is highlighted, and tap "Paste". If that doesn't get you what you need, please email our Support team: lumatouch.co/Support (tap Email Support link in lower right). Happy editing!
Great Tips! I’d like to know more about color coding my clips when I bring them down to the timeline. One thing I wish LumaFusion could do is the ability to turn on/off “snapping”. If I need the play head to be at a specific spot on the timeline like on the beat of a song for example, it’s hard to put it exactly where you want it with snapping turned on. There is a workaround but would be easier if you could toggle it on or off like you can in Final Cut Pro.
Thanks for the comment and the feedback about snapping. We'll add a note about a toggle button. In the meantime, if you zoom all the way in on your timeline, you'll notice the playhead will change. Once it changes, that means snapping has been turned off.
Thank you for the tutorial! I just have one question for the future, will infinite timeline layers ever be added to LumaFusion? I use the software to make full animations, so having just 6 video layers can make things harder. Even if it causes lag, I think infinite layers would be a great improvement!
At a guess I'd say we won't be implementing infinite layers anytime soon, simply because of the potential for massively clogging the data pipes, meaning a bad experience for lots of users. But we do appreciate the wish for more tracks, and we are looking at possibly increasing the number of tracks available on the Timeline.
Hi there , is there anyway you can see frame-by-frame thumbnail preview across the entire length of a clip in the timeline? I feel that is an essential feature of any video editing app . Thanks
Three ways: You can swipe left or right on the Preview screen (on touch-based devices) to advance frame-by-frame. Or you can tap the arrow keys if you have a hardware keyboard. The right arrow advances; left goes backward. Finally, using the Incremental Scrubber, you can move forward or backward thru a video clip at speeds between 1fps and 120FPS. Do this by long-pressing the PLAY button under the Preview, until the scrubber scale comes up. Continue holding and slide your finger right (to advance) or left (backward)--the further you slide, the faster you'll be able to review the clip.
It seems in my earlier answer I might have misunderstood your query--at present there is no way to display a frame-by-frame thumbnail on the LumaFusion Timeline. I will log this wish to the attention of our developers, for consideration. Appreciate the feedback.
Help! I wish I could give you a video, and I hope this makes sense. I’m editing a video. I attempt to play it start to finish. However, it stops mid-clip. I can manually move past the block, but the time changes as I move. If the clip is three minutes long and it stops at 2:40, I can hit play again but the time jumps back to 2:38, no longer matching the timeline at the bottom. I’m so confused! I’ve tried replacing the clip, extending a different one, removing another clip, but it will still stop at the same time and do the same hiccup. How do I get it to just play through the whole 3-minute video?
Hi there, this sounds like you're seeing the result of media incompatibility. But to get you some real 1:1 problemsolving, please get ahold of our Support team: lumatouch.co/support (tap 'email Support' link). We will do our best to get to the bottom of this with you--including giving you a way to show what's happening in a video.
@@LumaTouch I finally cleared out a bunch of memory and restarted Lumafusion, and it started working! I don’t know if that’s what caused it but if it happens again I’ll reach out. Thank you so much for responding!!
If you want the timestamp on the clip, this is not possible in LumaFusion. The app does keep all the metadata available behind the (i) Info button--tap when a clip is selected and you'll find it there. Hope that's helpful.
Hello! How are you? Sorry if you explained it in a video, I was looking everywhere and I couldn't find the solution. I need to change the speed of multiple clips at once. That is, put all the cuts, at 75% speed for example. I can only do it with one, when I try to copy and paste that parameter, it doesn't take it. Take the rest, but not the speed. It is very cumbersome to change one by one when I have many clips. Thank you!!!
Hello, this is something we've got on the wishlist. We hope to add an easier way to alter the speed of multiple clips on the timeline in a future update. Thanks for the comment and the feedback.
Hi Luma Touch, I was really wondering if there is a way of grabbing one clip and placing it right in the middle of my project without it removing anything?
Hi! So I have external drive and it’s plugged it and it’s working but when I try to go in lumafusion settings “external drive editing” is not there do you know how to solve it?
@@GobsCOD10 reading into it in a bit more detail , it will only show if your iPad has usbc or thunderbolt for inputting an external ssd . Mine has usbc iPad Air 5 and does ,however on my iphone 13 it does not show . But that doesn’t have usbc or thunderbolt ?
Hey Lumafusion, how do I zoom in and out by pinching without accidentally selecting/moving blocks in the timeline? Yes, I can tap 2 or 3 times to zoom in or out, but sometimes, I want a precise type of zoom, which is why I use my fingers. My problem is that I inadvertently move blocks on the timeline, and it's kinda annoying. Is there a technique on how I can avoid this?
If you have a track that doesn't need much editing, you could lock it and use that as your pinch to zoom track. Unlock it whenever you need to make changes.
Easing will be added as part of the Advanced Keyframes feature, which is currently in development. We'll have a release date to share once building and testing is complete.
