Many thanks for sharing your memories of the Cameron Hldrs,My grandfather joined in 1874 and in 1879 was posted to Gib, where his first son was born After Gib he was in The Egyptian campaign and was at Tel-el- Kabir,,Then to Fort George as colours / quarter master sgt.where 6 more children were born . After 20 years he retired, ..to work at The Sarry Heid in Glasgow. My dads idea of a lullaby for me was to March up and down to The March o’ the Cameron men . My one regret is that at 85 I hane never seen a picture of him in uniform .
