One of the best and probably only tutorial that doesn't stop and go into detail about something as simple as selecting multiple layers or how to do something everyone already knows already. I love the fact that you do it as though you need to finish the tutorial as though a meteor is about to hit earth. More like this please Ross!
I feel like I've said this a million times, but I still come back to this video when I wanna bust out a lil walk cycle, just the slightly frantic energy gives me that boost and the directions send out a solid WC every time. Cheers, hope you're well!
Awesome tutorial - you are seriously gifted in AE (and the gab) ;) How about character turnarounds in AE, like 2D character bodies that appear to turn from left to right. Would be super useful.
holy shit. im only just beginning to fathom the power of AE but i like what i see. and this tut takes it from boredom (class) to AWESOME! it's bliss to watch you just pulling this walkcycle out of whatever orafice you're currently employing. so intuitive!
This is a absolutely amazing way to animating a walk cycle. But for newbie, I think they should know about 9 basic poses of walk cycle by Richard William first. And this way gonna improve their skill. Anw, thank you so much @Ross Plaskow.
a little tip for people make a Controller null for that you can parent the body and head to. If you had hands and arms, you can parent the hands to the same controller null for a lot of different kinds of postures! Also I made a null for the feet so that I could move them around if I needed to!
We need more people like you doing tutorials! Right to the fucking point! I guess I would call these more of intermediate skill level tutorials. Maybe pro, but what the fuck do I know!
Hi Ross. Great Tutorial. I have a qustion or more of a wondering about workflow: how do you animate when you have a character that runs/walks then stops and turns( or does a different action like throw a ball). The way I have done it is to have a run comp and then the next comp is the next action with the last frame form the run comp....Ideally I would want to stay inside the same comp for multiple actions. Hope that makes sense. I have not found a good tutorial on this? whats your work flow for animating a number of different actions, one after the other?
