HTML-код

- This 3090 came with no power. Shorted mosfets, burned fuse, shorted PCB layers and fried transistors. Short circuit, no detect, no voltage, no post, all you can eat in one package.

the magic of thermal cams, you can easily catch components thats want to be an LED
This guy is amazing! It's like watching surgery videos without the horrible invasive trauma!!
He's got a legitimate Bob Ross effect too.
I agree! His work is therapeutic to watch
Happy Circuits : )
Did I just ride a crazy train through chip hell? I don't know how you pulled us out of that one Mr. Conductor. But it's good to be back home!
I can’t even imagine the amount of mental fortitude it must take to balance dealing with the diagnosis the filmmaking and all the shitty YT comments all at the same time! Excellent work as always Tony!
This was a handful to go through. I'm surprised that the manufacturers haven't been helping you out or at least rooting for you for your expertise and skill
Because people like him are the reason they're losing money. The more used cards he fixes the less new cards people need to buy. Simply comes down to corporate greed.
Why would they, if there's nothing in it for them
Man needs an Ifixit sponsorship fr
never expect someting in life because you gonna be disapointed all ur life. GREED AS NO LIMIT
@@zetsubou3704his tools are beyond ifixit level lol but I'm not know, I think it would be sick if I fixes started doing this type of repair guides and tools
Tony ... this was one your best repair videos. It's so informative the hear you talk through your thought process, analysis and conclusions. You're a very good teacher. Thx!!
This is the guy I'm going to call if my $1200 gpu shits the bed.
RTX 4080
amazing video! I am so impressed by the whole process! A proper repair, not just swapping a shorted mosfet! Thank you!
Whoa that board was looking pretty crazy haha. Appreciate you staying on top of posting and giving us new repairs often. Always a fan👌
This 3090 was a full buffet. Holy cow!
I always take notes of my findings, it helps when resuming the work on a following day (or week ... or weeks!)
this is the next level of repair 👍
Wow, just...WOW. Attention to detail is next level!
Very nice repair marathon. You are qualified for the semi-final
Amazing video my man!
Nice work man :D
Great job!
Those low 12V and input voltages just seem to be a thing with these EVGA 3090 FTW3 cards. I have screenshots from when I was testing mine at various points and those voltages were always 11.4V-11.6V yet the card always worked like a champ for ~2 years with my EVGA 850W 80+ Platinum PSU.
I wonder if higher voltage drop is just with the 3090?
I only get around a 200-300mv drop in voltage under load(from around 12.2-12.3 down to around 12v.) on an evga 3080ti.
You are awesome Doc. 😂
Did you check those phases with the oscilloscope? Always a good idea.. Keep up the good work!
Awesome video
Thanks!
You can make a key chain from Busted Memory chips. Just clean with IPA and dip it with clear resin. Tada!!... A keychain
I was thinking about dipping an old GPU on resine, but I'll do both now
@@khobza that Will work too! I had few dead Cores with bubbling substrate, Because the user did oven-your-gpu tech tips on RUclips.
Maybe scarve little message on resin "wanna Oven your GPU? Think it Twice..."
31:17 something died and heating no more (right bottom at the IR camera screen) 🤔
Yeah i noticed that too. It could be a reflection just at the right angle.
That is a supplemental 5v rail. Does not effect card functionality in any meaningful way anyway.
I watched the whole video and it felt very short then i saw the actual duration of the video :D Pls keep em coming. Its watching detective movie
Dang how can someone do this to a card I'd never except one time shorting a cap with metal screwdriver lol
But as the other card that is crazy how that fuse got so hot it delaminated the other copper layers to get them to short wow 😮 but what a repair and it's always MOSFETs hahah. cool to see the experience and finding the culprits at large. Nice work as always.
And he's all self taught
"for some reason is not turning on!" louis rossmann would have old memories looking at this
Perseverance I believe is a word that can somewhat describe you
Where the heck do you get all those board views. Is there like a database somewhere for it?
They say the hallmark of a true master is when he can make something complicated look so easy...
This better than a magic show!
The King of the cards !
I suspect the PCIE cables got problems or the PSU itself.
Such lvoltages at all the pins are suspiciously low & very strange as well. I wouldn't be surprised if there were crashes during any modern AAA games which needs some 450W + power 🤔
Is the problem with the powerconnector from the 4090 by the new cards solved, I have now a 3090TI and thinking about buying the 4090. But hear a lot about melting powerconnectors
what kind of sorcery you are using ? i have never seen this board before
I really wonder what's the demograph of your channel. It can't be all of those viewers repair gpu's. I myself do electronic repair from time to time, but never touched a gpu so far, so I am basically in for the entertainment.
all of these GPUs is either viewers or someone recommended.
May I ask what brand of thermal camera you are using ?
Thanks for the Video. Where to get this Board view Software?
google
Fuses are designed to fail... This fuse failed so hard it failed at failing.
i run this video too fall asleep to... but im to god damn invested now >.
more component more powerful and powersourch
what do repairs like this cost?
How much u charge for something like this job?
Hello i have a question about gigabyte pcb cracking cards, i can get a open box gigabyte 4080 for 950 usd but i've heard about these cards cracking now. however i heard people saying if you mount it vertically or use a support bracket/anti sag it will help. would this be a good idea to help prevent it?
yes
@@northwestrepair Ok thanks are either of the methods better then the other or will either be fine?
@@Marshy2020 anything is better than nothing
damn!
Curiousity because you repair GPUs and are amazing at as well..... :) Asus 1050ti dead after EEC ram was installed in my ASUS H81M-D motherboard. Have you ever seen this? What might be a solution? :)
Just buy another 1060,2060,3050 etc. At this price level , they're dirt cheap. Don't waste time.
how much would it cost for you too quickly look over my 3090?
discord channel link not working man
I wish I could work with you
Hard one
Why there is an Avengers symbol on that Chip ?
🙏👏👏👏🙏
I can’t believe this card has image as when you inject voltage the core was getting hot….
it's not abnormal for the Core to warm up if the Card gets partway through or fully through initializing - it's the main Power consumer and so if it turns on it'll get warm pretty quickly without a Heatsink.
Hey do you eat hotdogs longways or wideways?
i dont eat hotdogs.
Even if they were made from real DOGS, it would still be poison.
@@northwestrepair can we get a video about hotdogs?
Anybody know what happened to this poor card. How did it end up in such a sad state.
LOL @ 9:53
I'm exhausted! A break would have been nice.. SLAVE driver! Other than that, "thank you"
