    Love watching you play real golf the good and bad - pars and bogey. No multiple takes. Thanks Jimmy

    As a high-handicap golfer I have found that playing conservative will lower your scores quicker than anything else. I broke 90 for the first time in my life playing this way.

    Jimmy .. I have learned golf course management again because of you. And since watching your videos I am shooting in the mid to low 80’s . I was shooting in the high 90’s. too. Again I plan out the hole on the tee!

    Hi Jimmy, I wanted to send some appreciation your way. Up until a couple of months ago I was a frustrated golfer with lots of swing thoughts and struggling to score below 95. The typical card was a mix of par’s right through to quadruple bogeys and probably even worse. Trying to whack driver on every hole and worrying about things like GIR numbers.
    I found your channel looking for break 90 videos and watched your one aiming to play every hole as a par 5. It completely changed my thought process on the course and rather than thinking about my swing, I was focussed on the course, playing to avoid the danger and where to miss in order to give me stress free shots. I never think about swing mechanics now. Just 3, 2, 1 and hit.
    My enjoyment for the game changed instantly and my scores dropped almost overnight. Up until a month ago I’d broken 90 once in the 5 years I’ve played golf, in the last month I’ve played 6 rounds and shot 87, 92, 87, 89, 86 and 85. My official WHS handicap is its lowest ever at 18.2.
    I really enjoy the videos and your style of teaching the game, the hot tubs, picturing the lake, waving at the camera, not looking up on putts. All massive tips at my level and ones I’ve probably heard versions of over the years but your style resonates with me, and most importantly I remember them in the moment, while out on the course.
    Thank you and keep up the great work. Assuming the merch can be sent to the UK, I’m looking forward to getting a Tropicana hat on and seeing how many other fans I bump into whilst playing.

    I always watch your videos. Great advice. A positive thing I noticed in this one: no sexist comments about near naked girls in a hot tub drinking beer. I would like to see you do a video with a woman. We shoot shorter in general. The average woman does not shoot 170 yards with a seven iron. So what strategies should women use to bring down our scores?

    • @TropicanaEntertainment
      @TropicanaEntertainment  21 день назад

      Just FYI its not sexist its a reminder to be relaxed in rolling the ball. You dont want to make a big splash. Women have the advantage of playing forward tees generally. The same strategy applies. Hit the fairway, leave to short of the green if you need to then chip and putt very well.

    • @josephineherrera8508
      @josephineherrera8508 21 день назад

      Today you spoke about that without talking about women in bikinis drinking beer. I understand your message. But could not understand why use such crass and sexist reference. I know you are trying to reach men. But women also watch your videos. I liked that you said there’s a hot tub full of people in today’s video.

    Dude! Your method has me playing some solid golf. In the last month and a half, I’ve been slaying my golf group.
    But for three miscues, last week I would have shot 78 or 79, something I haven’t done in twenty years. Smooooooth and wave to the camera. Keep it up and thanks!

    Thank you Jimmy. You are a thousand percent correct. I have tripled every first hole this year because my drive is in the rough or trap. Then I press and make more bad shots 😮.
    I am convinced that I could hit a 7 iron off of every tee box and shoot an 88-90.

    • @TropicanaEntertainment
      @TropicanaEntertainment  21 день назад

      I love that. You should try it and see how it goes. I shot 75 with a 7i - 50degree - 69 degree and putter.

      @jgaulorr 17 дней назад

      @@TropicanaEntertainment I shot a 90, 45 for each nine. I only teed off with a 6 or 7 iron all day. Played the middle of the fairway. I doubled the first 3 holes and found my swing after that. It could have been an 86 or better with some luck. And I had the lowest score of the group.

    Maybe this is on a previous video, but do you mentally count down 3-2-1 when you play off camera? Just to keep yourself from overthinking a shot when you are over the ball?

  • @atreyuwings
    @atreyuwings 21 день назад +1

    Recommending a 69° wedge for short chips when you don’t have any obstacle will literally add strokes. Think of a club you can putt to the pin

    • @TropicanaEntertainment
      @TropicanaEntertainment  21 день назад +1

      I can tell you dont have the 69 degree wedge.

    • @atreyuwings
      @atreyuwings 20 дней назад

      @@TropicanaEntertainment you’d be correct. I wouldn’t even recommend a 60 unless you gotta pop up over something. Lots more control when you chip and run and not only will it have a chance more often but even when missing you will have a better read of how it will curve to make your putt. I definitely saw a few strokes gained when I learned this so I’m not at all confused about or even considering a steeper 69° wedge. I already know how to hit flops but the landing and rolling area is so small you will make many less and have less of a read on how it rolls for your follow up putt.

  • @atreyuwings
    @atreyuwings 21 день назад

    My last round I shot 82 with a triple on the card. You don’t have to lay up this much you just need to know when it’s worth going for. And aim for pins when you are near even chipping

    • @TropicanaEntertainment
      @TropicanaEntertainment  21 день назад

      82 is a good score. I shot 74 last week with only 4 clubs. Learning how to keep the ball in play is the most important part of the game

    • @atreyuwings
      @atreyuwings 20 дней назад

      @@TropicanaEntertainment for sure it’s the best thing on my list of things to avoid. No lost balls. No three putts and hopefully no triple or even double bogeys. My last round that 82 I just looked it over. I didn’t lose any ball but I did have 4 3 putts and as a result one triple and one double on the card. Overall it really shows me my putting is where I need to focus in

    Golfproos tries to play bogeyfree rounds. Im not pro, I try to play doublebogeyfree rounds. If I can do that, I have enjoyed the round, I dont have to think do I find my ball after teeshot. I try to play as you say, to get that position that I can putt for the par. Sometimes they go in 👍. I dont play against coursepar but against my own par. And I enjoy the game a lot more.

    Bro, I love everything you described except that 69 degree wedge! That is a very technical club and the average golfer is likely to skull it or duff it! Use a less lofted wedge to get on the green!! A mistake with a bump and roll is far less damaging than a skulled shot that flies the green or a duff that goes 5 yards.

    • @TropicanaEntertainment
      @TropicanaEntertainment  21 день назад

      I can tell by this comment that you dont own the 69 degree wedge.

    • @gerdamarsh
      @gerdamarsh 18 дней назад

      I bought the 69 wedge. I haven’t practiced enough with it for the standard chip shots yet. But have found it to be very good out of bunkers and shots where I need a higher shot (over a bunker on the green). My friends have been impressed. I just need more confidence on the standard chip shots, although I’m already decent with a56 on those.
