Weiss & Ruby have been very effective combat partners since volume 1, their clashing personalities not withstanding. And Weiss was paired with Yang in the tournament and they fared pretty well as a team, winning their round. The only family worth a damn outside Team RWBY that Weiss has is Klein (surrogate father figure) and Winter (big sis). Weiss is so profoundly lonely; her friends at Beacon, especially Team RWBY, are her chosen family...far superior to the dysfunctional mess that is the Schnee family she was born into.
Those traumatized gals really needed that hug, god damn. I really like seeing how devoted to her family Yang is; at least when that family, y'know, acts like family. I also love found family stuff so Weiss looking so happy each time she's reunited with a team member is just so good.
Unless Its just Ravens skewed view on things. Like her look on Oz being the headmaster was planed, which we actually know it was not. From the WoR on the Great War: The King founded the Academies and put trusted lieutenants to head them. And he even said it when they talked about not trusting Leo a few episodes before: the plan was to have 4 lieutenants he can trust especially in the time of reincarnation, which he made his support weaker by becoming a headmaster as he cut the number of support pillars down by one. As he may not get someone he can trust immediately to replace him when he dies. My main current theory is that the it was the influence of the original soul of Oz we knew at the start that led him to become one, and the fact that he had the skills and knowledge of the previous lives would enable him to basically game any selection system for the headmasters. Or optionally he decided that he had to be more directly involved in the academy because he learned that Salem is starting to move more aggressively. Also towards Raven, just because he was interested in STQR it does not mean he did not know or at least suspect the truth about why you were sent there .... See his talk with Blake in vol 2.
How do you not know that the king himself was who we now know as Ozpin? ^^ On the other hand, if the Ozpin of that time was one of those four lieutenants he might have influenced the king. It would not be the first time for an adviser of a powerful person to influence their ruler in a certain way. It is also possible that Ozpin thinks he is acting for the greater good and is actually fighting a loosing battle. Who knows, we have to hear both sides. That is why I am quite happy that Weiss was at Ravens camp with Yang, so she would ask questions that Yang dismissed. And I agree, Ozpin probably knew about Qrows and Ravens origin when they came to Beacon the same way he most likely knew about Blakes background.
But does she comprehend the full picture or does she just think she has it figured out? I am sceptical to both Raven and Ozpin right now; heck maybe Salem has the best reasons for what she does, who knows? ^^
I don't know if she has the full picture, but I do think she's the most unbiased person we've met. Also yeah I'm expecting a Salem was right plot twist.

Glad to finally be able to watch this. I went into this episode expecting to see Yang upset about Raven not caring and instead got Raven being upset that Yang doesn't care.
Honestly I like Yang's reactions here. Her entire world has crumbled around her since the end of Volume 3 and she is trying to reclaim some stability, even if it has to be by force. With Raven being the one that is upset that also means her character is redeemable from the mistakes she made in the past.
RobinMelons maybe because even Raven is still hurting over Summers death, She might have been one of the few people that she actually liked. I do agree though need some more info on Summer

Love the video, always nice to see you react. But I have to disagree on the 'ozpin killed pyrrha' bit. After cinder got the powers, ozpin told both her and jaune to go get the others to help. He had no intention of letting them fight, although the 'you'll only get in the way was a bit dismissive of him after the choice put on her. But cinder WATCHED them leave and just turned back to ozpin. They were an afterthought to her, if pyrrha had chosen to fall back with jaune she most likely would have lived. Its not like oz pushed her to go after cinder.
Yes but Pyrrha only felt obligated to fight Cinder because Ozpin brought her into the big conspiracy. Not to mention Pyrrha was probably thinking that if she'd made her decision sooner Cinder wouldn't have been able to take the powers. Ozpin made Pyrrha a part of his war and that's why she felt like she needed to fight it
It was a bargaining tactic to get her to stay. "Hey mom, why'd you leave?" "Yes, that's a good question. You should continue to question things, some people lie - but I won't. So you wanna stay?"
If you notice, every one of the people Qrow was looking for had the same exact mission type: Search and Destroy. My theory is that they were all sent to kill the same exact target, and they were all killed.
I'm a little late to this video but I still wanted to thank you for still making these videos despite the problems RUclips is giving most reactors. You know, seeing Raven's speech again tells me one extra thing, besides the fact that she never gives a reason to doubt Qrow or Ozpin; Raven's a coward. She didn't leave because she was angry she could suddendly become an actual Raven. She projected and lied to herself about it and blamed everything on Ozpin, but she fled because she was scared. Scared of Salem, of the war against her and the maidens, scared of all the truth she never knew about. She went back to her tribe and her enclosed world of living off those weaker than her. She even gave Yang the chance to ignore everything, probably because she knows how strong she is and she can use her parental bond to control her. The only reason she accepted little magical puppet there is because she has control over it. It makes sense the leader of a bunch of low-live thieves would be a low-live herself. A coward that ran with her tail feathers in between her legs when she knew she would have no choice but to fight this unwinnable war against nature. She was mad because the rest of her team and her brother decided to defy death in the eyes, pretty much humilating her and showing her true nature. I'm.... Actually okay with this. I hate her, but I think she can create good friction with Yang's new arc of facing her problems, instead of cowering in her home.

I suspect she has a partial wig she wears, something like a feathered fur or the like that she puts over her actual hair. It looks like a different color and texture than the rest of her hair after all - darker than her hair (which is showing a couple bits of potential grey much like Qrow's).

I think the dead people coming back to life is pretty much a reference to Ozpin. He dies and is then reborn in a new body/host/like-minded soul. I don't think she was referring to anything else (although we don't know anything about Salem's lifespan).

Thank you once again for the reaction video! Can't Wait for the next one! I love all of the screen time we're getting for Qrow lately. Having so much more of his personality show through. I find it interesting how the first real time we had with him, he trashes robot soldiers and wrecks Beacon's courtyard in a fight, yet here he's so much more subdued and caring.
It was nice to see Yang finally reunite with Ruby and the team be almost fully together again. Though I feel Yang is in for some real shocks when Qrow confirms some of the things Raven told her, as well as learning what has happened to Ozpin's soul and why Oscar is with them.
'I didn't know if you want me around....' VERY relateable with someone I care about ATM. And just after I posted that, you said something VERY insightful about Weiss. RWBY is her family now. And all I have to say on cosplay is Sweet Jesus! You have the right answer! I always think to myself, should I do Qrow, Oobleck, Adam, or Roman? Someone like you would say 'why not all of the above?'

I have a suspicion that Leo had a play in the whole “we lost so many huntsmen” bit. Meaning he might have had a play in sending them all out during the Haven attack, and to protect the borders, and also have them out in the field (maybe Salem sent in more than they can handle.)
Arryan, I agree with your assement of team RWBY after the fall of Beacon but I also think that like Blake, Yang needed time to not only heal but to find herself again too. Her identity was tied to how she fought, but loosing her arm and training with her dad helped her figure that out. Yang said best in volume 4. Everybody wants her to get back to normal but that can't happen anymore. The things herand the other students saw and did at the fall of Beacon matured and scared them. There is no going back to the innocence they had. They are adults now no matter if anybody likes it or not. There is a saying in Civil War history and has been used in one form or another through out military history, it's when a vetern of combat asked a new recruit, " Have you seen the elephant yet?" What that means is, back when circuses were big entertainment the elephant was always the main attraction or event; in the same way soilders considered combat the same way through out history. That kind of encounter changes you as a person. That is what Yang was talking about in that scene at first, when she pointed out that she should be considered an adult not a kid anymore.

RNJR plus Oscar and Qrow are RJNROQ. Pronounced as "Ragnarok". Seems appropriate to me. Haven't quite worked out a name for plus Yang and Weiss yet, but we also don't know how they'll group up yet. RWQY and JORN or RYOW and QRNJ or something, kinda hard to arrange into words.
Except that the remains of team JNPR+Oscar would be called ORNJ(Orange) because with all of Ozpins wisdom in his head he's clearly becoming the leader(and JORN isn't a color)! RWY will wait for their B to come back and Qrow stays by himself like he always did!
Right, ORNJ, of course. I did say that I hadn't thought about it much. It's still going to be a while before Blake comes back though -- although since she's in an earlier timeline, I suspect she'll join them right when the attack on Haven starts, and that will be our season finale probably.
The team name with Yang and Weiss is still pronounced the same, just lettered differently. It's Team RYJNWROQ (Ragnarok). Team name seems appropriate considering what we've just learned about Salem :)

OK, I need to share my opinion about this episode, because there are some things that nobody seems to notice. It should land on RoosterT channel though. No sure why I am choosing your channel. Probably because it is more comfortable connecting to fanbase. It is opinion about episode, not reaction. Your feelings and analysis are pure 24K gold :) Thank you for them. I did NOT like that episode. Because reasons: 1. Characters are out of character Crow and Yang in the first and last scene did not perform as we are used to see them. Crow is the tough guy, who does not take shit from anybody. But in this scene he was defensive and retreated from the cook! What was this guy about anyway? Was he the huntsman he was looking for? If yes, why Crow did not recognise him? He said they go way back.Why did Crow paid him off? Where is written that Crow's name must be with Q ? Also those poses Crow made: if they set the mood that made other huntsmen look dead, why add humorous details? Great mood setter was child scene and Crow not drinking. In Ending scene there was also something off. I didn't like Ruby apologising for leaving. If she was sorry, she wouldn't leave. I know Yang is more serious now, but I kinda expected she or Weiss would say something funny eg.: Yang: I must've traveled half the continent and beat up almost 20 people to find you. Your're in so much trouble. Weiss: Jaune, please show be the bathroom, I haven't washed for 4 days! Also, this reunion felt very plain in comparison to previos episode. There was surprise hug, Home soundtrack and cool camera shot. That indoor setting was boring for such important event. 2. Overhyped Reunion was very anticipated event. So much actually that expectations have risen to great hights. I forgot the rule of happiness, which is always to have low expectations. So when I didn't get the feels, I had to write this comment. 3. Raven’s poor negotiation skills Raven's scene was definitely the highlight of the episode. She gave us a very important lesson extremely valuable in real life as well: Question everything you're told. That leads to greater wisdom and increases resistance to manipulation. Nevertheless she could not covince Yang to join her, because of their relationship, or rather lack of. What did she expect anyway? It was a great reveal that Raven spied on Yang as a bird, but did nothing to gain her trust. She just imagined to be this dream, or goal for Yang to achieve. But she did not expect for Yang to get over her. She didn't really give her a better reason to stay. Overall it was a good scene - many emotions - we like it.

I suspect she has a partial wig she wears, something like a feathered fur or the like that she puts over her actual hair. It looks like a different color and texture than the rest of her hair after all - darker than her hair (which is showing a couple bits of potential grey much like Qrow's).
People seem to forget this, but if team STRQ knew the truth, that means taiyang knows as well. I have a little theory that the relic is not in beacon at all, but in a place no one would even try to look, a small little island called patch :)

I think the dead people coming back to life is pretty much a reference to Ozpin. He dies and is then reborn in a new body/host/like-minded soul. I don't think she was referring to anything else (although we don't know anything about Salem's lifespan).

I love all of the screen time we're getting for Qrow lately. Having so much more of his personality show through.
I find it interesting how the first real time we had with him, he trashes robot soldiers and wrecks Beacon's courtyard in a fight, yet here he's so much more subdued and caring.
It was nice to see Yang finally reunite with Ruby and the team be almost fully together again. Though I feel Yang is in for some real shocks when Qrow confirms some of the things Raven told her, as well as learning what has happened to Ozpin's soul and why Oscar is with them.

I have a suspicion that Leo had a play in the whole “we lost so many huntsmen” bit. Meaning he might have had a play in sending them all out during the Haven attack, and to protect the borders, and also have them out in the field (maybe Salem sent in more than they can handle.)
Arryan, I agree with your assement of team RWBY after the fall of Beacon but I also think that like Blake, Yang needed time to not only heal but to find herself again too. Her identity was tied to how she fought, but loosing her arm and training with her dad helped her figure that out. Yang said best in volume 4. Everybody wants her to get back to normal but that can't happen anymore. The things herand the other students saw and did at the fall of Beacon matured and scared them. There is no going back to the innocence they had. They are adults now no matter if anybody likes it or not. There is a saying in Civil War history and has been used in one form or another through out military history, it's when a vetern of combat asked a new recruit, " Have you seen the elephant yet?" What that means is, back when circuses were big entertainment the elephant was always the main attraction or event; in the same way soilders considered combat the same way through out history. That kind of encounter changes you as a person. That is what Yang was talking about in that scene at first, when she pointed out that she should be considered an adult not a kid anymore.

RNJR plus Oscar and Qrow are RJNROQ. Pronounced as "Ragnarok". Seems appropriate to me. Haven't quite worked out a name for plus Yang and Weiss yet, but we also don't know how they'll group up yet. RWQY and JORN or RYOW and QRNJ or something, kinda hard to arrange into words.
Except that the remains of team JNPR+Oscar would be called ORNJ(Orange) because with all of Ozpins wisdom in his head he's clearly becoming the leader(and JORN isn't a color)! RWY will wait for their B to come back and Qrow stays by himself like he always did!
Right, ORNJ, of course. I did say that I hadn't thought about it much. It's still going to be a while before Blake comes back though -- although since she's in an earlier timeline, I suspect she'll join them right when the attack on Haven starts, and that will be our season finale probably.
The team name with Yang and Weiss is still pronounced the same, just lettered differently. It's Team RYJNWROQ (Ragnarok).
Team name seems appropriate considering what we've just learned about Salem :)

No. Jaune killed Pyrrha. By not doing his ONE JOB. what, did he worry they'd be torturing her needlessly? of course, he only carries that blame because the writers were stupid and did not have the Defenders of Remnant slap Pyrrha in the box almost before she had time to accept. Anyone with half a braincell would know it needed to be done ASAP. as in last week. shit like that is not the sort of thing you leave lying around gathering dust.
OK, I need to share my opinion about this episode, because there are some things that nobody seems to notice. It should land on RoosterT channel though. No sure why I am choosing your channel. Probably because it is more comfortable connecting to fanbase. It is opinion about episode, not reaction. Your feelings and analysis are pure 24K gold :) Thank you for them.
I did NOT like that episode. Because reasons:
1. Characters are out of character
Crow and Yang in the first and last scene did not perform as we are used to see them. Crow is the tough guy, who does not take shit from anybody. But in this scene he was defensive and retreated from the cook! What was this guy about anyway? Was he the huntsman he was looking for? If yes, why Crow did not recognise him? He said they go way back.Why did Crow paid him off? Where is written that Crow's name must be with Q ? Also those poses Crow made: if they set the mood that made other huntsmen look dead, why add humorous details? Great mood setter was child scene and Crow not drinking.
In Ending scene there was also something off. I didn't like Ruby apologising for leaving. If she was sorry, she wouldn't leave. I know Yang is more serious now, but I kinda expected she or Weiss would say something funny eg.:
Yang: I must've traveled half the continent and beat up almost 20 people to find you. Your're in so much trouble.
Weiss: Jaune, please show be the bathroom, I haven't washed for 4 days!
Also, this reunion felt very plain in comparison to previos episode. There was surprise hug, Home soundtrack and cool camera shot. That indoor setting was boring for such important event.
2. Overhyped
Reunion was very anticipated event. So much actually that expectations have risen to great hights. I forgot the rule of happiness, which is always to have low expectations. So when I didn't get the feels, I had to write this comment.
3. Raven’s poor negotiation skills
Raven's scene was definitely the highlight of the episode. She gave us a very important lesson extremely valuable in real life as well: Question everything you're told. That leads to greater wisdom and increases resistance to manipulation. Nevertheless she could not covince Yang to join her, because of their relationship, or rather lack of. What did she expect anyway? It was a great reveal that Raven spied on Yang as a bird, but did nothing to gain her trust. She just imagined to be this dream, or goal for Yang to achieve. But she did not expect for Yang to get over her. She didn't really give her a better reason to stay. Overall it was a good scene - many emotions - we like it.
