i like your way of speaking , its really different than all the other (investing) channels , i really feel hoesty popping up from your xD thumbs up for you bro
10K investment in an ETF like VOO makes out ~6K in 5 years (10% return and compound interest). So now a stock to beat this has to go up in value by approx. 75% in the same duration of time, which is about 5 years. Do not forget, that there is no compound interest in stocks and when you sell it, reduce 20% in tax (means also a loss of this tax money, which could be working hard for you if invested in compound interest like ETF). So bottom line for me, if I can sell a stock for twice as much in about 5 years, risk worth taking, otherwise, continue with ETF's. Plz correct me if I am wrong.
This is not financial advice but there's no way the government will let Boeing fail. It's Airbus vs Boeing; England vs America. The 747 is Air Force One and I'm fairly certain that as the law is currently written, Airbus can never be the Presidential plane.
Hi Jimmy. I totally agree with you. I have a portfolio of over 70 of my favorite stocks that I have been holding for years and I'm beating the S&P500 quite easily. But I would like to add two points to why stocks are better than ETFs (for experienced investors). You mentioned that ETFs are mixed bags of winners and losers, which is undoubtedly true. The first issue I would add is allocations. When you buy an ETF you have no choice of how much each individual company constitutes of your portfolio. You're stuck with however the ETF weighs them. I would rather have a decision on proportions (i.e. my position of MSFT is 6 times bigger than my position of FB but I'm more convinced of its business model). My second issue is the entry point. ETFs give you much less flexibility on timing, unless the entire market dips... Which is the second aspect of being a mixed bag: of those at their peaks and those at their bottoms (i.e. I'm bullish on the S&P500 for next year, but I'm not sure right now is a good entry point for TSLA) Thanks for the video.
@@LearntoInvest Typically VGT drops further in a downturn and rebounds stronger. So far that has not been the case so I am not sure which I should be investing in. I could think that VOO would be at a greater discount or I could think VGT has shown it will be stronger. I'm thinking 40 year time frame buy and hold. What are your thoughts? Thanks as always and I am not asking for financial advice just your opinions.
FTEC is my largest position. I firmly believe we are still in the midst of a technological revolution and technology will lead the way for years to come. Yes the sector has fallen hard but I took this fall as an opportunity to add to my position. FTEC returnees 43% last year vs 26% for the S&P. I also follow the satellite approach and own 7 or 8 individual stocks like MSFT, TSLA, V, FB, PAYC to name a few.

Some ETFs could be riskier than stocks. Such as leveraged ETFs
ETFs have inherent counterparty risk.
Also, why would you pick satellite stocks that are already in the S&P?

Boeing is in intensive care in need of a government bailout. Don't put any money into them that you aren't willing to lose on a speculative trade.
I think it’s a good deal, they mean a great bunch to the U.S government. Though, they have had a few crashes in the past......it’s a risk for sure!
This is not financial advice but there's no way the government will let Boeing fail. It's Airbus vs Boeing; England vs America. The 747 is Air Force One and I'm fairly certain that as the law is currently written, Airbus can never be the Presidential plane.
Love you Jimmy!
You are AWESOME!
You’re amazing, are you a professor as well?

What 5 stocks would you pick right now on robinhood? Thanks
How would you think about buying the S&P500 ETF (VOO) right now compared to Tech Sector ETF (VGT) right now in this market crash?
VGT is a good one as well, VOO was just a hypothetical example
Good job 👍
