Now that Oxy dropped to $50, I took a deeper look into the business. It has offloaded low-margin assets in favor of high margin assets in the Permian which had decades of reserves. Its per barrel operating costs are $36 which is among the best in the region meaning it can remain profitable even with a substantial drop in oil prices. It is currently the most efficient producer in the Permian. With Oxy securing decades of reserves, Oxy is moving away from expensive exploration and wants to return maximum value to shareholders. This business has very little downside trading at what appears to be a discount. Oddly enough, my fair value was also exactly $86/share. Currently that would be a 60% margin of safety. The last time I felt this comfortable about a stock was $Meta
Hi Jimmy! Did not expected a video on Oxy, fantastic. I bought Oxy in 2020 on all the fuzz of crash and that oil will be over etc, and oxy was a dead company.. I saw the oppurtunity. bought at 13 dollars per share. And i'm thinking on buying more. Thanks
Invest in the financial markets before retiring by diversifying across assets, allocating a small portion of your portfolio, staying updated on market trends, and considering long-term holding to balance risk and growth..
I feel sympathy for our country, low income people are now suffering to survive yet inflation and recession keep increasing daily, many families can't even enhance the good cost of living anymore. You've helped me a lot Sir Brian! Imagine I invested $50,000 and received $190,500 after 14 days
Very possible! especially at this moment. Profits can be made in many different ways, but such intricate transactions should only be handled by seasoned market professionals.
Yes! I'm celebrating £32K stock portfolio today... Started this journey with £3K.... I've invested no time and also with the right terms, now I have time for my family and life ahead of me.
I am still wary of the CrownRocks acquisition. If it was such a good deal, why wasn't it competitive and bid up higher? Generally the seller wants full value, so unless there is some extenuating circumstance, why did CrownRocks sold so cheap? What is the risk in the CrownRocks acreage?
Given that the RU-UA peace talks are likable after Trump gets the office, we can see oil going down in the next 2 years. Also Israel should end the military campaign at some point in a year or so. Buffet can dump it any time and small investors may be busted. I believe the entry point shouldn’t be higher than $53
All the best and good video. In my opinion it is still a good time to invest in different stocks like gold, silver and digital currencies. This is one of the most important skills to learn and everyone should invest instead of saving. Some may agree, some may disagree. My big compliments to Natalie Rose Strayer for improving my portfolio!!....
Natalie Strayer has really set the standard for others to follow, we love her here in Canada 🇨🇦 as she has been really helpful and changed lots of life's
@LearntoInvest Hi Jimmy - What is the difference between the two tiers of subscription on your website? Seems like it's the same for majority of benefits except exclusive chat rooms. Are those chat rooms directly with you?
The tiers are mostly the same. There is a bunch of us in the community, although you can send me direct messages if you want a specific question answered. but so many people in the community are so helpful and knowledgeable. And for some deeper discussions, many times I’ll talk through them on the livestreams we do each week. 👍😀
Trump has stated that he wanted to drill more oil which would increase the supply of oil driving prices down. Could also mean that OXY takes a large market share of that and can profit off volume but I suppose we'll see. Certainly interesting to see lol.
Kinda what Im thinking. Trump going to get the prices lower. But to do that, he has to let Americans able to Drill more Oil. Does OXY make more or less in this case?
@@prophetseven728 Yeah that’s what I’m wondering! I’m not certain and I can see both outcomes haha, at a certain point if the company gets real cheap I think I’ll build a decent position.
Currently aggressively paying off debt due to 2 decent acquisitions. Once they pay down debt sufficiently, the plan is to return cash to shareholders in form of buybacks and dividends.
Let's not forget that crude sold at -30 a barrel at some point in 2021 during covid. I am estimating a conservative 70. And the value will be with MORE EXPLORATION from the acquisition, rather than banking on current metrics.

This has to be one of your best videos yet. Well done. Would love to see more like this.
I bought it back in 2020 at $10. Welcome to the club!
Incredible. Congrats bro that was an amazing call
If u didn't sell, congrats
and sold @12$? :)
I was not expecting a RUclips stock analysis to be this good. Great breakdown, Jimmy.

Looks like a great move
im holding OXY since Warren started buying. My average $56.91
It's $50 now. Never brag about what you pay for a stock. You never know when the price is going to drop and make your statement look silly.
Thank-you Jimmy!!! Great analysis!! I own a little bit at $56.00 and I am waiting to buy some more shares.
Great video. Really like how in depth you looked at their different acquisitions
Great video, now at 54$, can you create one more on oxy? I subscribed and liked!!
I love the FULL explanation of OXY. I have been looking at them vs CVX and XOM to diversify. Thank you.
Folks,
The cost of oil may go down a bit. But, the USD is getting weaker... it's a must commodity and an inflation hedge for Buffet
My take too. A Creative inflation hedge by Buff
That was an amazing analysis
I learned so much
Thanks
I was looking at this when it was ~$20...insert sad face here...
its okay. Nvidia went up way more

nice! once you hit a big milestone, the next comes easier. How can i reach him, if you don't mind me asking?
Did you add any under 50$?
Under 50$ is a buy. Not it's just high. And in oxy record. Heigh is average. 100$ and 50-70 is Average for the recent decade
Are you still recommend owning this stock today its 53.60 per share and still going down.
prices move every day, fundamentals don't.
great video!

Buffet also bought NU bank that in Brazil. That may be a good value.

Fabulous video.
Good video
Btg from valuation point of view looks better- its gold mining though
Why is Oxy going down ??
I think I’m late to the party. I think if oil prices fall then I can consider buying some shares.
This margin of safety aged well.
why doesn't OXY hedge the price of oil with futures contracts to prevent being at risk to the flucuation in oil prices then?
they do it to some extent, like any airline or oil companies

My buying prices are $58, $48, and $43.
k
I bought shares but I’m down
Those that bought are underwater.
Can’t judge a value play on short-term results.
😂I would look at the current situation and entire market, because there are 5000 puts on OXY as of today, before earnings
Hard pass, you're better off just buying BRK lol
oxy price dropped to 56
and why now it falls so dramatically?
Because the price of oil fell lol.
Jimmy, don’t you think Shell is more undervalued than OXY?
Shell is European, they went full woke likes its peers. Massive investments in renewable R&D, it doesn't pay off.
Stick to NA businesses for Oil
Looking for it to dip under $50 😗

I really don't understand, the dividen is 1.53% ...??!!! Why n How it is a good investment??? U don't need a finance degree, for 1.53%.
buybacks are 5-7%? you have to add those.

How much would dillution affect the price?

Is he buying because it's a good business, or to ease his woke conscience?
This stock is so boring.. stay with technology stocks. I'm trapped in this stock and can't bail until the dam thing goes back up to $65..
