The way how the north/south states work is like this.
Some states will share a common name, and 100% of the time they border each other. For the North Carolina one, and since it has “north” in it, that’s means below it *should* be a south version of it, South Carolina. If it wasn’t obvious, it’s the Dorito looking one right below it.
In short, if a state has “north” before its name, it doesn’t mean it’s on the north border. It means it borders a state south of it with the same name. Same thing vice versa.
    Confused? Understandable.

Though I recognize there is some variation in the exact number, as some schools of thought combine the Americas, and others Eurasia or even Afro-Eurasia.
My comment was tongue-in-cheek, and uses the human geography definition of North America (these types of quizzes usually have the Caribbean or Latin America as their own separate region). In human geography, North America is generally Canada, the US, and Mexico, often Greenland as well, although Greenland is a territory and not an independent country, hence my original disclaimer about what constitutes NA.
