It is just amazing to me that about 3 decades pass before 10mm gets going. Seems 10mm offerings are popping out of the woodwork--and from Ruger no less. Excellent!
Tell me, man. Saw it show up last night on the Ruger website and just found out they're just beginning to distribute it. Gonna get one as soon as I can, too :-)
Now that's pretty much exactly how I'd want my 1911 pistol.. That two-tone in details looks awesome.. I can only imagine how good that would look with a pair of custom grips..
I want to thank you for the professional and very technical videos you produce. I've learned a lot from the information on your videos, and especially like your ransom rest accuracy testing on these pistols. Bought a .454 Ruger Alaskan, .44 mag Ruger Talo, after getting valuable test results you showed, I probably will be buying this Ruger 1911 10MM after seeing this video, very impressive. .Thank you
My SR in 45acp is my most favored pistol. Not sure I'd want the 10mm for CCW in town though. Maybe too much omph; for the city. But what a boon for the country folk. I remember watching the Bren Ten fade into history along with Miami Vice. With Ruger on the line now; the 10mm will be top dog for a long time. Great work as usual Jeff, thanx.
Ruger is making America great one great firearm at a time. I am not much of a handgun guy, but I think I just might like to have one of these, I can go deer hunting with it!
By far the best on youtube bud appriciate all u do! I have personally purchased more than several firearm do to your reviews thanks a ton ive been waiting for ruger on this one along time👍
Truly great designs/devices last long enough to be improved over time. The most recent of those improvements is often called "modern" (i.e., modern cars, phones, airplanes, 1911's).
Great pistol, I seriously love Ruger. I just checked my Warehouse doesn't have any but I can have it ordered. my price would be $778.98 plus tax if in NC. I try to have the best prices around. Hell my transfer fee is only 15 dollars.
I love this SR1911 Target.. so happy I was able to find one finally.. I'm a glock guy, carry G17 and G26, this SR1911 replaced those.. Lol. Carry this thing everyday, everywhere.. my first 1911 and first time shooting 10mm, I'm hooked on it. Can't wait for ammo manufacturing to ramp up again, I need some more 10mm to put down range.. My only complaint with this gun is the front sight.. I really wish it had a white dot at the very least.. a fiber optic sight would of been great. I'm going to have to look into replacing it myself.. for the meantime I used my girls white nail polish to remedy the situation Lol.
Looks like everyone is joining the 10mm train. AND I'M LOVING IT!!!! R1 hunter (want), p220 (getting real soon), delta elite (own), RIA (maybe) and now ruger (definitely). Never been a fan of kimbers or glock but might get the G20 just because of the capacity..... and because of 10mm of course
what a sweet looking pistol! I swear if I had more money I would have a ruger 1911 already! hope they bring out this same 1911 (with the bull barrel and small details) chambered in 9mm!
I have a Colt Delta Elite and a Glock 20. I love shooting those guns. I am going to order A Ruger 10mm now. I also have 3 SR1911's They are awesome guns.
Good demonstration of the Ruger's NEW SR1911 Semi-Auto 10mm Pistol, by GunBlastdotcom. ... The Ruger Company years-ago, invested in computer controlled machinery, and good materials, to ensure the high quality of their all their firearms. +GunBlast has gotten ~years of usage out of the CroMagnon Targets. = Worth the money.
I am guessing this will be the way to go with a 10mm pistol. The other 10mms (like the Glock 20 and the SIG P220) seem too bulky whereas the svelte 1911 is supposedly not up to a steady diet of full power 10mm. Ruger however has a history of building very strong guns capable of routinely handling full power loads, so I am hoping this is the pistol that is the best of both worlds. If so the only problem would be that it's just one more of those many guns I will have to buy!
Every pistol I've pickup up from Ruger that was capable of handling heavy loads like underwood, have been overbuilt. Compare Super Redhawk to a Smith 629. More metal means less recoil and usually increased durability.most people in the forums praise Ruger for being built like a tank. This doesn't look much like a tank.
It doesn't look like a tank (fortunately) but the Ruger is heavier than the other single stack 10mm 1911s out there. Ruger's pistol weighs 40.4 ounces compared to 35 ounces for the Delta Lite, 38 ounces for Kimber's 10mm and just under 38 ounces for Rock Island's single stack 1911.
They're out to get all of my money. Wow. I'm a sucker for 10mm. I'm shocked that there's a bull barrel (not a problem, just surprising). I'm not a huge fan of adjustable sights, but it's not a deal-breaker. I want to see what happens when you get a chance to beat on it for thousands of rounds. We'll see where the "street" price settles in at.
I put 50 rounds through my new Ruger 10mm, and then it miraculously turned into a single shot gun, with continuous FTF. It is back at Ruger now. I will be reviewing it in full on longridgedeercamp.blogpot.com.
Surprised at the MSRP. Seems really high considering I just picked up a Sig assure P220 elite match for well under that. In any case if I don't like the Sig I may have to try the Ruger... or more likely the RIA.
Jeff,my biggest worry was myself. Could I handle the recoil and still shoot somewhat accurately? Well after a couple of hundred rounds, it is just as natural as a 45. I love 10MM!
I don't know who that 1911 "expert" is, but RIA makes a really nice proven 1911 in 10mm. I don't say that because I read it somewhere, I actually own one. Plus the RIA 10mm 1911 comes with a lifetime warranty.
I want to know who thinks a 1911 isn't strong enough, or that Ruger is the only one who could build one. I have shot Colt 10mm for decades. I've owned Dan Wesson 10mm that I would say are equal to or better than anyone else. And I even owned a Kimber 10mm that worked, eventually. Even Rock Island makes one hell of a good 10mm 1911 at a great price. But, my favorite was my old S&W 1006.
I have a 1911 .45 shot around 300 rounds through it and about a Month ago i was shooting it and the Front Sight broke off anyone else heard about the Front sight Breaking off while Shooting ?? I Love the 1911 but dont like how Ruger made the Front sight looks like Cast Metal . They did send me another one withing a week free of charge.
these big gun companies seem to always consult gun writers/experts like yourself to get ideas. without those ideas they haven't a clue what the market wants. hope they aren't a cheapskate and fairly compensate you guys. your basically valuable consultants
They are good to us, but I cannot ethically accept any payment from them. Several gun companies advertise with us, but that is all in the open. To accept money for advice would not seem right to me. jeff
The comment by the other writer now discredits everything he's ever said or written. 1911 and 10mm is a great combination. I'm excited to add another Ruger 1911 to the stable.
Friend, I like the 10mm but loathe the Metric System. Why don't we all agree to call it "The .40 Cooper"? A slide that comes from the factory .100'' or .125'' thicker would go a long way toward slowing down slide velocity and it would barely be noticeable in handling/concealment. When carrying a 1911A1 type pistol inside the waistband even a 7'' Longslide wouldn't be that much of a problem. However, hiding the handle can be difficult. I'm surprised that no one pairs a Commander Length Slide/Barrel with an Officer's Model Frame. {The Commander Barrel/Slide offers a bit more velocity, but more importantly, it is far easier to tune for 100% reliability than the shorter Slides.} Anyway, by the same token no one would notice another eighth-inch or three-sixteenths-inch thicker slide. …..RVM45 {It would make little sense to move up to the 10mm for more power and then whack off .75'' of Barrel-so I am talking Government Model length beefed-up Slides for the 10mm…}
FoulPet like Ruger did when Bill Ruger said there was no reason for civilians to have standard capacity magazines? most people don't remember what Ruger and S&W are guilty of from the Clinton AWB.
Been wanting a 10mm for awhile. This might be it. I've always liked Bo-Mar sights too. Unfortunately, it will have to wait til i move to a free state- can't have SR1911's here in Kali cuz of the BS "safety roster". I watch Jeff's videos for many reasons, but especially for his quotes! 1:05 "He can see I'm finally right after all this time." 2:30 "There is no 10mm auto ammo made in Eastern Crapistan that you can buy from _Cheaper Than Crap_ and put in your gun." 7:08 "Pay the government their extortion fee for your second amendment rights.
Home of The Brave because they can't get a military contract out of it. Hk sucks. Yes very nice weapon I own one excited to take out and fire a few down range.. thank you for review on gun I made a great purchuse from what I see!!!!!!
Excellent 1911 in the perfect caliber, reliable and affordable. I don't like the rear sight and I want to carry it in the woods and city. There is a new model out with for my needs better.
I really wish they would have stuck to the same grips that they put on the SR1911 because it looks really good with stainless steel barrel cuz it looks better than the Remington the Colts and all the other ones out there now it looks like it's downgraded on looks
"the 1911 won't handle the 10mm" "It will if Ruger makes it!" Jeff that is just classic. Love it! What a cool gun!
It's been 5 years since this video I finally got my Ruger 1911 in 10mm thank you I wouldn't have it if it wasn't for you 😭 RIP Jeff your sadly missed
It is just amazing to me that about 3 decades pass before 10mm gets going. Seems 10mm offerings are popping out of the woodwork--and from Ruger no less. Excellent!
This makes me so happy! Ruger stepped up to the plate and delivered an SR1911 in 10mm and I got to hear about it from Jeff! This just made my day!
Thanks for the video, I'm glad Ruger started making a 10.
Okay this got my attention. Stainless Steel construction + 1911 + 10mm + Ruger. I'm in.
Tell me, man. Saw it show up last night on the Ruger website and just found out they're just beginning to distribute it. Gonna get one as soon as I can, too :-)
Scorpion 520AZ It has a full supported chamber and heavy barrel I am in too.
Scorpion 520AZ why couldnt they have made a pic rail version? :/
Cant wait to buy one
FINALLY!! Thanks Jeff, and I loved the magazine disconnect spec.
Now that's pretty much exactly how I'd want my 1911 pistol.. That two-tone in details looks awesome.. I can only imagine how good that would look with a pair of custom grips..
You are so right about the chronograph, Shooting Chrony. Mine has never given me a problem.
I want to thank you for the professional and very technical videos you produce. Ruger is making America great one great firearm at a time. I am not much of a handgun guy, but I think I just might like to have one of these, I can go deer hunting with it!
"a 1911won't handle the 10mm" the guy said? I guess he forgot about the colt delta elite?????
By far the best on youtube bud appriciate all u do! I have personally purchased more than several firearm do to your reviews thanks a ton ive been waiting for ruger on this one along time👍
Ruger makes a sweet 1911,this baby is a cannon......nice job
I bought one recently, had some teething issues at first, but after it was broke in, it runs like a Swiss watch. Accurate and light recoil.
Good video Jeff. Finally a modern 10mm 1911.
A design that's been around for over a 100 years. What's modern about that?
Truly great designs/devices last long enough to be improved over time. The most recent of those improvements is often called "modern" (i.e., modern cars, phones, airplanes, 1911's).
i totally missed this coming out, just browsing ruger website and saw it--put it on 90 day layaway at buds
Lol. how about a long slide?
This is by far my favorite gun that I own
Jeff, you boys make me proud to be a Tennessean. My respects gentlemen .
That is a thing of beauty. Just like Hickok45, I do love a stainless 1911 with a black handle. =)
Great review Jeff. I'm currently shooting a Delta Elite & Tangfolio in 10 mm. Hoping to own a Ruger 10mm shortly after more feed back from owners.
so happy Ruger came out with a 10mm 1911!
Really well done and good close up video on features. One of my favorite calibers.
yes it's about time
I'm definitely going to give buying this 1911 serious consideration. Very cool. Great video.
Kevin Zavala. And because of the reliability. And because of the toughness. And because of the recoil control. And because of the lower cost. And...
what a sweet looking pistol! I swear if I had more money I would have a ruger 1911 already! hope they bring out this same 1911 (with the bull barrel and small details) chambered in 9mm!
crapistan! I've been there!
Good looking pistol and great review with plenty of good info.
Yep, Eastern too. Welcome home!
I have a Colt Delta Elite and a Glock 20. I love shooting those guns. I am going to order A Ruger 10mm now. I also have 3 SR1911's They are awesome guns.
Jeff what a pearl of an idea! You have the best reviews. Thanks Again 10mm AWESOME.
Thank you sir ,I love several brands but RUGER is definitely one of my favorites. I really enjoyed this video.

so whats faster straighter and harder hitting 10mm or 38 super?
there is a few companies that make 1911's in 10mm like the colt delta elite and I love my colt 1911's
i love when you shot the metal target through the dummy
Crap... better start saving my coins and making sure I stay on mamas good side. I've been waiting for a quality 1911 in 10mm.
Always enjoy yall's videos. Keep it up!!!
Jeff,my biggest worry was myself. Could I handle the recoil and still shoot somewhat accurately? Well after a couple of hundred rounds, it is just as natural as a 45. I love 10MM!
Spoken by a true legend.
This man's beard is a national treasure.
I'm torn between a Colt Delta Elite and Ruger 10mm. Suggestions? I own both Colt and Ruger and love both...
Very nice pistol by Ruger. Still trying to settle in with it but a very nice shooter
I don't know who that 1911 "expert" is, but RIA makes a really nice proven 1911 in 10mm. I don't say that because I read it somewhere, I actually own one. Plus the RIA 10mm 1911 comes with a lifetime warranty.
Yessir, that is correct. Iown several, in 9mm, 45, and 10mm. They are dandy pistols.
Boge
I've been seeking the right 1911 and I believe this ones perfect for me
Great video sir. You make a great case for obtaining this great gun. Hmmm, boy do I have a lot of thinking to do! Thanks again.
love the 1911 and love the 10mm. thanks for sharing.
I absolutely love your videos. You always tell it like it is.
I'm glad you were right. Man, it looks like the .45.
Nothing against the 10 mm 1911 but I’m going to stick with my SR1911 .45 pistol. Great video
Nice video and very informative. Can't wait till mine comes in!
Thanks for the video Jeff !
That's a beautiful piece right there.
Please state the music played in the intro. Another excellent video.
It's a Civil War tune called "The Battle Cry of Freedom", played by me.
Boge
I been looking at this gun , Thanks for the review on it. Just a matter of time, I'll get me one.....
magazine safety disconnect: hell no. that made my day.
I want to know who thinks a 1911 isn't strong enough, or that Ruger is the only one who could build one. I have shot Colt 10mm for decades. Yep.

Jeff Quinn is a Real American. 🔫🇺🇸
That is a beautiful holster.
Your videos are really informative. Thank You
My first gun will probably be the rueger light commander...im sure this will be the third one to get
I have a 1911 .45 shot around 300 rounds through it and about a Month ago i was shooting it and the Front Sight broke off anyone else heard about the Front sight Breaking off while Shooting ?? I Love the 1911 but dont like how Ruger made the Front sight looks like Cast Metal . They did send me another one withing a week free of charge.
They did have a bad batch of front sights. I had a friend here on my range, and the same thing happened to him.
jeff
if the front sight doesn't shear off, that's a plus

Hey! My pappy is from East Crapastan!!!
james cosgriff.. my mother is too! Upper East side right near shit creek.
300 blAKout 😆
Im a ruger fanatic and a 10mm fanatic so im in love
Does the Ruger 10mm have a fully sapported chamber?
Teddy Molnar yes it does
The comment by the other writer now discredits everything he's ever said or written. 1911 and 10mm is a great combination. I'm excited to add another Ruger 1911 to the stable.
Excellent. This should be a good seller.
I love the Magazine Safety: HELL NO! I'd love to own one of these.
Government extortion fee. I like this guy.
Friend,
I like the 10mm but loathe the Metric System. Why don't we all agree to call it "The .40 Cooper"?
But anyway-for all those OTHER 1911A1 manufacturers who can't seem to get a good durable 10mm pistol, here is a VERY SIMPLE concept for them-give The Slide More Mass! Look what those funny mouse ears do for the .460 Rowland. A slide that comes from the factory .100'' or .125'' thicker would go a long way toward slowing down slide velocity and it would barely be noticeable in handling/concealment.
When carrying a 1911A1 type pistol inside the waistband even a 7'' Longslide wouldn't be that much of a problem. However, hiding the handle can be difficult.
I'm surprised that no one pairs a Commander Length Slide/Barrel with an Officer's Model Frame.
{The Commander Barrel/Slide offers a bit more velocity, but more importantly, it is far easier to tune for 100% reliability than the shorter Slides.}
Anyway, by the same token no one would notice another eighth-inch or three-sixteenths-inch thicker slide.
…..RVM45
{It would make little sense to move up to the 10mm for more power and then whack off .75'' of Barrel-so I am talking Government Model length beefed-up Slides for the 10mm…}
The Ruger 1 centimeter
It needs front strap checkering for 10mm !!! Awesome ! Do you still have the Remington R1 1911 10mm Hunter ? :>)
I do.
jeff
I SHOOT UNDERWOOD AMMO IN MY 10MM'S.GREAT AMMO AT GOOD PRICE. NICKEL BRASS IS A PLUS TOO FOR RELOADING.
Jeff, whats your 2 cents on the Rock River and Springfield Arms issue.
Both are good pistols.
jeff
He didn't ask if you like the pistols, he asked what you thought about these companies taking a steaming crap on gun owner rights.
FoulPet like Ruger did when Bill Ruger said there was no reason for civilians to have standard capacity magazines? most people don't remember what Ruger and S&W are guilty of from the Clinton AWB.
We remember, but we also need to remember that both Ruger and S&W are under entirely different management now.
Boge
I know nothing about that.
jeff
cool gun , love ruger & my 10mm kimber
Is the chamber fully supported?
Been wanting a 10mm for awhile. This might be it. I've always liked Bo-Mar sights too. Unfortunately, it will have to wait til i move to a free state- can't have SR1911's here in Kali cuz of the BS "safety roster". Since they were not created until after the BS law went into effect, they have to have a mag disconnect and a loaded chamber indicator. And w/o a firing pin block, CA DOJ probably wouldn't test it anyway. It's all about control. Pray for us- it's getting worse. Great video Jeff
I watch Jeff's videos for many reasons, but especially for his quotes!
1:05 "He can see I'm finally right after all this time."
2:30 "There is no 10mm auto ammo made in Eastern Crapistan that you can buy from _Cheaper Than Crap_ and put in your gun."
7:08 "Pay the government their extortion fee for your second amendment rights.
MY PRAYERS HAVE BEEN ANSWERED!!! RUGER IS MAKING A 10MM 1911!!!
The sample i saw at my store was sloppy in the slide/frame fit
Hey- my ancestors came here from East Krapistan. I resemble that remark. 😀
another great video
why can't hk make a 10mm hammer fired
Home of The Brave because they can't get a military contract out of it. Hk sucks. They shit on the civilian market and only sell overpriced guns to us that are in military service or rejected military guns they spent the cost for tooling. where you at in and how long you gonna be down new mexico way?
workingmansdead 44
And where at?
Just got home. I was at the NRA Whittington Center near Raton, NM all week.

Gunblastdotcom
Oh ok, I've never visited. That specific location. I need to go.
Very nice review.
Father's day is this weekend :)
awesome 10mm own one great 10mm own a few 10mm.s thanks for gun review
They will sell tons of these. The only thing I'd change is I would prefer a carbon steel pistol.
RIP Mr. Quinn
I really wish they would have stuck to the same grips that they put on the SR1911 because it looks really good with stainless steel barrel cuz it looks better than the Remington the Colts and all the other ones out there now it looks like it's downgraded on looks
