  • In this episode, hosts Rashad Bilal and Troy Millings engage in a candid conversation with the insightful Eboni Williams. The discussion revolves around the challenges faced by successful black women in the dating game, particularly concerning finances and societal expectations. Eboni shares her personal experiences and offers thought-provoking insights into the complexities of the modern relationship landscape.
The conversation delves into the impact of the "boss chick" and independent black woman archetypes on the black family ecosystem. Eboni and the hosts ponder whether these constructs have become destructive and pose challenges for traditional family dynamics. The discussion is nuanced and based on statistical data, transcending subjective opinions to tackle the harsh realities faced by black women in today's society.
Furthermore, Eboni addresses misconceptions about black women intentionally competing with black men and emphasizes the sincere desire to build fulfilling relationships within the black community. She articulates the importance of socioeconomic alignment in partnerships, highlighting the self-interested element of desiring a similarly positioned partner for a secure and comfortable future.
The conversation takes a controversial turn as the hosts discuss the challenges faced by successful single women in finding equally yoked partners. The societal values and expectations placed on men and women regarding attractiveness, youth, fertility, and financial stability are dissected, shedding light on the inherent conflicts within the dating market.
Eboni openly shares her strategic approach to dating, expressing a preference for older men due to their appreciation of aspects of youth. She candidly discusses her personal journey towards single motherhood by choice, providing insights into how the age and lifestyle circumstances of potential partners influence major life decisions.
The discussion touches on the realities of being a middle-aged, highly educated, and high-earning black woman, emphasizing the limited pool of potential partners due to income brackets and societal expectations. Eboni urges for a frank understanding of the compromises, decisions, and priorities that successful black women must navigate in their pursuit of fulfilling personal and professional lives.
Ultimately, the episode provides a compelling exploration of the dating and financial dilemmas faced by successful black women, urging individuals to bravely confront the realities of their desires and make strategic decisions aligned with their personal priorities.

What Eboni K. Williams said was correct, however it would be wise to mention that she and the high earning Black women that she’s referring to, are the minority. Black women on average make $44K a year, with only 9% earning $75K a year. The dating dilemma that Eboni is experiencing, doesn’t apply to the overwhelming majority of Black women. She also did another interview where she explained that her pregnancy process of freezing eggs isn’t cheap, so for most women, it’s not gonna be as simple now that we understand how much the average Black woman makes a year.

What you're saying is Important to mention yes, but high earning black women NEED to hear the numbers/ narrative from an accomplished bw.

@@8higherthinking7 I agree, however if the message is packaged as “fits all sizes”, then the advice is detrimental to the Black community, because now you’ll have average earning Black women who assume that they are in Eboni’s shoes. In order to level set the conversation, both men and women have to tell the truth. Lastly, it doesn’t matter where the numbers come from, as long as they’re truthful. Once that’s established, women should speak to women, but don’t lie or omit what needs to be said.

The fact that banks will sell a full home to a single woman of any race is a huge money maker. Most men know the maintenance alone of a home will be too much pressure for her. it's not a lot of pressure, you build relationships with companies that deal with all facets of the home. From pest control to electrical. Develop a discerning eye and ear which means you have to wash away all programming that suggest that because you are a women you are inept. It's not that women aren't capable, it's just they have just been socialized out of being analytical and systematic in thinking. You put your house on a routine maintenance schedule not waiting for something to break down. RUclips University is a god sent. Learning about each aspect of the home so that you can ask quality questions so you are not going along with what they say and if you are luck many of those with the worst intention will reveal themselves early. Con men look for weakness in people not just women. Also there are a lot female builders on ig to follow so that you can really design a home that you can manage.

Unfortunately, I've observed women who, later in life, become desperate for children, thinking it will fill a void, only to find themselves in the same situation-with a child. Now, she will become a single mother raising a child without a father, unintentionally becoming a statistic for the black community. I truly hope she finds what she is looking for.

Hot girl summer and the idea that the right man will be there whenever you get ready to settle down is postponing establishing marriages. Find your husband in college before you establish your wealth. This is the tme where your viable options are the most plentiful. You and your husband can grow together. When we say “equal”what are we really talking about? She said women want their equal but most women want a man who’s a leader and if she had the choice between a six figure dude vs a seven figure dude, she wants that 7 figure guy even if she makes 6 figures. Women and men are not the same. The way she would look at a dude who’s a great man but broke is the way men would look at a 6 figure women who can’t follow orders. It’s impossible to consider each other equal when we don’t value the same things.

It’s crazy because she says equal counterpart, but when that equal counterpart comes he doesn’t make enough. And if a man asks for a equal counterpart or for the women to elevate herself financially so he is not a full on care taker that is a problem for many women. The double standard is hurtful to the black family structure.

EYL please back away from these conversations 🙏. You will tarnish your brand by giving these bitter hyenas space to talk crazy. This chick is a "partnership" failure.
PARTNER and PARTNERSHIP is a joint effort where parties received a symmetrical RETURN based on individual contribution. Like angel funding or owning stocks.
How can you be partners when women's 🙀 dry up on the topic 50/50? Women want to asymmetrical arrangement where men contribute the most inputs. Upon divorce men walk away with less. Loss of assets, alimony, and child support.
Again good brothers, stay away from the toxic subject of the Black Women's relationships problems. Because men like me will have to address their poor 🙀 management, kids, evictions rates, unemployment rates, and mental health problems.

Can she find an equal partner? This counter to what a masculine man is looking for? It's not a bw question It's the nature of women. The bm she wants that she deems better than not equal to basically is unavailable he's married in a ltr or is openly playing the field only 5 percent bm are 6 figures in the usa. So the answer is no!! The man she wants doesn't want her or not available, the man equal to her she feels she settled a woman rates you 2 notches below if she feels she settled. So this man she doesn't want so this is called being trapped in hypergamy. Also the social and earning ability of bm can be limited in the usa, unrealistic boxes the majority of bm can't check because the bw or any woman is looking for the man to be better than her a woman doesn't share money with a man this is the American black woman's hypergamy trap she can't escape. They say he doesn't have to do all that hehe, what they say and do are entirely different things or else they would not be single😀

"The man who's 35 and not married isn't necessarily looking for someone who's also 35, they're looking for the 28 year old" I think part of what kills me about these dating conversations is now nobody uses real facts, it's all "I heard" and social media rhetoric. Or what you hear from your immature homeboys who refuse to grow up. On average, there's only a 2 year age gap between couples. Most 35 year old men are not marrying women in their 20s. According to the US Census, only about 16% of men marry a woman that's 7 years younger. Most people marry within their age range. We have to stop perpetuating Kevin Samuels nonsense because it sounds good.

Per usual, using misleading/incomplete numbers to paint a false picture. The home ownership rates she's referring to is based on a misleading report that talked about black female ownership rates increasing by about 5.6% over the last 30 years while black male ownership rates dropped by about 8% over that time. But what they always leave out is that even with a drop in the rate black men still make up approximately 65% of black homeowners compared to only 35% of black women. Don't even get me started on the higher education talk. Smh. No matter how much they keep bringing up getting degrees, black men still out earn black women on average. It's a very played out talking point that has been exposed over and over again.

It’s the divorce rate. Women with college degrees are more likely to initiate divorce. So yes, a man will consider a waitress or any woman without formal education as she has less opportunities to maximize her income. Thus making her reliant on him, and she will never leave.
That’s the #1 reason men don’t want marriage, especially to educated women. Educated women make money, and they have the option to leave. If “no fault divorce” laws changed or women’s autonomy was heavily restricted again, men would marry. It’s really that simple.

You see that's the whole problem your money no matter how much you have dear sisters you still are not equal to men and you will never be. Psalms 14 & 53 says "The fool says in their hearts that there is no Elohyim" and a persons actions proved it, the divine order according to TMH Yahawah BaHaSham Yahawashi HaMashiach quote " But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ Yahawashi HaMashiach; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is Yahawah our Elohyim." 1 Corinthians 11:3 KJV our people as a whole have to become obedient to TMH and your money no matter who has it and how much of it you may have will not stand until the so called BP become obedient to the truth of the matter there are so many different things that the Devil uses to keep our people divided and money is the biggest reason for our division not only in relationships but also as a whole don't let these Devils use you like that.
