When it comes down to the last 6 or 12, it's just a popularity contest, I like all kinds of music and don't like pigeon holing anyone, because they all are talented and got a boost from being on American Idol. You should be happy for her, because that girl can sing.
She has since become the biggest star of the 6 people with her music,tv show & talk show. Daughtry has sold more records but she is loved by more people. She has been a guest on much more shows. Won DWTS Kathrine has had a good career in acting tv series with two hit shows. Kellie is a very special type of person.
It worked out perfectly. Kellie is definitely a star, but Daughtry is really admired and respected for his music. They are both beautiful authentic people who have heart. :)

I seen her live when she opened for Rascal Flats in Hershey Pa in around 2010. She is a very nice person. We had vip tickets and met them all backstage.
While she was not the best contestant that season in terms of pure vocal talent, she was certainly a great singer and had the great looks and likable personality to make up for it. She was definitely the best of the bunch as far as having the whole package, and that’s why she continues to do so well!!

I love Kellie! Season 5 has always been my favorite for some reason. I must add that I don’t remember Lisa Tucker being on the OC. This is cheesy, but my husband and I own all four seasons, and when Ryan Seacrest said that I pulled up google and she plays “as herself” on an episode I remember very well, “The Party Favor” (where they play that American Girls song over and over and it’s prom), but we don’t remember her. I’ll have to go back and watch it. 😝☺️

Back then the contestants dressed like they would normally, the jeans etc. Which I love! But now they're all crazy with outfits & makeovers to where it's ridiculous.

It has always been that way in any singing competitions but some winners got the whole packages for instance Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood. You can be like one of the worst contestants but if you're popular and like among the popular throughout the whole competition, you'll probably stay till the end and snatch the top prize 😕
I'm beginning to think that winning idol is a curse, the ones that should've won it are successful artist, there's a number of them and Kelly is one of the many. They all are AI people towards the end before they pick the winner, it's all a popularity contest towards the end. This season they were all very special and loveable, in my opinion.
carrie underwood is also successful. and in most seasons the winner is the most successful from that season like season 6 jordin sparks is most successful from her season, season 7 David cook is most successful, season 10 scotty mccrerry is most successful, and in season 11 Phillip Phillips is most succesful.

Yeah, TAYLOR HICKS winning pretty much wounded the show so it was never the same after that, although the original judges leaving was what killed it mostly. T.H. was just a 'good ole southern boy charming the gals in the south'.

If that were the case, then Katherine McPhee or Clay Aiken would be billionaires, and Michael Jackson would have been a blip on the radar, like Donny Osmond. Great art moves the audience and great artists do. That's why Kellie with her admittedly good, but not great singing became a star. Bob Dylan would not have gotten to round one of this show. Carol King MIGHT have made it this far.
