just as a note of caution- just like LBY, no of these games are guaranteed, a lot is unknown about the actual quality of the gameplay, and none will be flawless or inherently avoid perceived flaws of sims
I am waiting on Paralives - until then I will have to endure with Sims... I don't think my computer is good enough for this game, but also I am not so much into the hyperrealism - but I understand why people are interested.
I'm so glad my 5-year-old PC will still be able to handle the game! In theory at least, let's see how it'll turn out. Thankfully, the requirements are not as high as I expected.
we getting a lot of base game assets, Like with seasons, and apartments (city living) animals, life careers. and that not a mod long fingernails. So be exicted and if you havent seen acottonsock play Inzoi last year you should look at it. she plays for like 3 hours.
I was expecting a beefier requirement for the PC so I'm glad with the specs they came out with. I love the visuals. I'm not too worried about the gameplay because I've watched streams of it nearly a year . Driving can be automatic. So if you hate driving, you don't need to. Also I believe you can change the danger setting so you might not get into accidents. My worry is still monetarization. I have a love/ hate for Sims DLcs. They add up but we can choose which one to get. However with each iteration I feel we get less features.
thanks for the info about driving- where did you learn about that? For sure, we still don't know what monetization model they will use. all come with pros and cons, of course
lol do you even game on PC, these specs are beefy. Most PC players from the last steam survey use a 3060 graphics card. Not only that this game recommended specs require the player to have a 12th generation intel processor. lol most people who play sims play on gaming laptops, that would barely meet minimum specs. These specs are basically the same as cyberpunk 2077, and that is a open world RPG. This is just a life sim.
Since this game is from the same company who made PUBG, I’m hoping for purely cosmetic options to be sold. You can already create loads of patterns with their AI so I imagine it could be clothing, makeup or hair styles. Basic functions like pets, and job variety could be in free future updates or events. With how much sims4 has let me down, I’m also setting a low bar expecting sims-like packs but I imagine they’ll still have a lot more to offer in each pack compared to sims4.
@@fellowshipofgaming847 I do not know how much gaming I do have any relation to this topic of requirements and find your tone offensive. This is lower than last year's testing laptops. I was expecting a lot higher for the recommended specifications. This is a new game. Cyberpunk 2077 is not on UE5 and is 4 years old.
It won’t get as much as people think. Those requirements are higher than 90% of most Sims players capabilities. A 3070 being recommended is actually insane and not in a good way. That screams poor optimisation. Baldur’s Gate 3 and Hogwarts Legacy, both bigger games that to a degree look better, have much lower requirements. GTA6 is rumoured to have lower requirements. Availability is the Sims biggest strength. My phone can run the Sims 4.
well Unreal honestly has a range of specs and is capable of, depending on the game. factors here include the graphics they went with, the fully open world, optimization and so on
it's good to have more options, assuming at least a few make it to the finish line- more player choice, hopefully more innovation, and some will also just want a game to switch back and forth between
@@niyahliyah2626 not 100% as I am no PC/Laptop pro but I have a i7-11700k, Nvidia GeForce 3080ti, with 32gb of ram, Solid State drive 1TB and when I ran a optimization test I am able to run 98% of current modern games on my system. I ran Inzoi with no issue (other than heating up a bit) besides the common opening intro skit. It’s all a trial and error but my rig is higher mid tier apparently.
I've been waiting for a game like this to come out. I've been following it for a while and am super hyped for it. This and paralives are what I'm most excited for
@@SimmerErin I'm excited for the gameplay and graphics for inZOI, I use alpha CC for the sims so it's right up my alley + the ability to control your character like that is such a cool idea. For paralives, I'm excited for the cutesie and cozy aspect and just an overall sims competitor
I think the most baffling thing I've seen related to this game is how much people don't understand game optimization. Them optimizing the game more (which likely won't drop the specs besides maybe ram/memory so you PC Elitest can stop freaking out that poor people might actually get to play the game) will only ensure it *runs better* and *has less bugs*. Optimization doesn't mean they'll change the graphics to something less realistic (especially not at this stage). Graphics/Art Style are more chosen for aesthetics or ease of asset creation then just pure optimization these days especially for console/PC games. A game being more realistic doesn't necessarily mean it's more/less hardware intensive then a non-realisitc game because it also depends what's going on below the hood + the type of game.
that is correct. optimization has nothing to do with changing the style of graphics. However, graphics can play a role in part to how demanding a game is . Optimization is a necessary and routine part of game development
Yes! Optimization is NECESSARY for a stable game. The sims 4’s issues don’t stem from them “pandering” to lower end computers. They stem from poor planning, cutting corners, and a lack of quality assurance testing
It’s not that baffling from the sims players because EA has used low spec computers as an excuse for things done poorly or skipped. These customers have been misled
@@joyfulgirl91 People like to forget console exist and it's not just a PC game. The platforms they released on they have to retain compatibility with as the same game. They can't magically stop being compatible with PS4 cause it would annoy (rightfully) all the people that started their "collection" on PS4. It's not just about laptops, they are compatible with multiple platforms that they have to retain compatibility with platforms that they have no control over...as the exact same game, not an alternate (like sims 1-3). I have no particular love of EA, but blaming things on "Low End Computers" is just a way to try to insult people when there are multi-layered reasons Sims 4 has to stay in the specs they do. There might be a reason (it seems like) Sims 5 is planning not to produce a PS5 version. And it might have to do with avoiding being trapped on a last gen console again.
And if you are on their discord it’s even MORE transparent. He even discusses concerns and issues he has about how long the days should be, input from international fans for better understanding of cultures to make it better in game, certain functions and skills. Like it’s a community based driven game for sure right now.
What??? The Sims 4 is only about 10 years old. We have to get at least 20 years out of it before thinking about a new one!! At the rate EA is going, watch it be 2040 before the 5th game comes out.
Most likely caught in development hell. I recalled there was news that some key developers already left the project some time ago. A major red flag there. 🚩
I wonder if there's been changes behind the scenes as management changed. there were also leaks and they may be more cautious. I do hope they say something before the end of the year, no matter where they are in the process.
im glad the specs are the way they are, the sims 4 prioritizing players with low end pcs is holding it back significantly and is a big reason why the game functions as poorly as it does
I don't personally feel at all that is what holds it back, but rather the decisions made at launch with the engine itself and the coding. It is good, of course, to simply have a variety of games for different people. If you look at almost any subgenre, you have different options for said subgenre
No it’s because they wanted to make the sims 4 an online multiplayer, scrapped it hella late, and then had to redo a lot of coding. Hence why several things were missing upon launch. That is why it’s so broken now. Because it wasn’t meant to be a single player game originally, but they couldn’t start from scratch because they were out of time. So they just kept releasing updates trying to fix things being broken and/or missing.
Sims 4 also runs on console!! They currently have to maintain compatibility with PS4 which is a last gen console. So they aren’t just affected by computer specs because of where they have already sold the game to a lot of players.
Just like LBY, not for my laptop (but also... I have a laptop so it makes sense). I expected worse for the specs to be honest (especially considering that the people advertising it were offered a computer to run the game). I like the graphics. People feel it's a bit uncanny valley but to me it's fine if it fits the environment correctly. It might feel a bit weird at first but even if it's super realistic, one thing I'll say is the game is pretty. I really like the updates on the game even if I'm not going to be able to play it, thanks for the video!
I do definitely feel this would be best on a desktop vs a laptop! I hope to get a desktop one day- not so much for this game, but editing and all sorts of reasons. But that's prob a while away 😆. I think graphics are just subjective , but the key is for the style to feel cohesive and fairly consistent for the game- a visual identity so to speak. and in general I like seeing different options available welcome!
@@Danny_James Ugh, right!? But it's totally playable now almost a year later! And TDW's road mod is out now, TOP TIER MOD. The modding community for CS2 makes my heart do a happy dance 🕺
the character creation pics is out of this world. I just looked through all the pics on steam and I'm just blown away by how detailed they made these characters. They're so polished. I can't wait for all the modders to get their hands on the game too--if the gameplay falls short for whatever reason, it's at the very least absolutely stunning. I haven't been this excited for a game since Sims 2. I have very good feelings about this game.
This is the one I've been looking forward to! The specs are realistic and pretty much what I expected, they leave room for boosting. I was already planning on getting a new PC sometime in the next few months, so I'm psyched I'll be able to play it. I heard that this was a passion project of the creator, which makes me optimistic for the gameplay, because it seems that those always turn out to be the best games. Love how different it is from The Sims, so it won't feel as much like playing a "knock-off". Fingers crossed that it's good (and isn't buggy!)
Every single game is a "knock-off" of another game. Every. Single. Game. Stardew Valley, Rimworld, every farming game, every shooting game, every simulation game. Every. Single. Game. There is no original game that wasn't based on the ideas of another game. There are evolved features, sure, but no game stands on it's own as entirely original. And Life Sim should be a genre, not only one game, the same as farming games are a genre. Sadly, it hasn't been yet, and EA had a disgusting monopoly, but that's about to change, finally. 🙂
@@SimmerErin There are quite a few games now where driving a car around is a part of the gameplay: Contractville - the driving in that is insanely good - much more similar to GTA than InZoi will be, Big Ambitions, Workers and Resources (as a passeger perspective), just to name a couple other than those obvious ones. Driving around in games seems to be one of the latest commonly demanded features.
I still don't like the hyper-realistic graphics. But one positive thing I gotta say about InZOI is that, unlike LifeByYou it appears to have a distinctive feeling and identity. And even if its not my favourite artstyle, the graphics look a lot better than LifeByYou's did, and despite the high grade of realism, the characters and animations don't come off as creepy, but instead come across as lively and animated. The baby is also very cute. I also find the personality types very interesting, I'm looking forward to see the whole character creation process and how in-depth the personalities and traits(?) will be. If everything goes well InZOI does look like a game I'd at least like to try out. Edit: I also gotta say I'm quite interested in the Korean city the game is gonna ship with, much more so than the Californian one, simply because an authentic east Asian city designed by an East Asian development team is not something we've really seen in a Sims game or Sims-like game. So that will be interesting.
laughing because I just wrote a comment to someone else about visual identity ; yes there is more cohesiveness and sense of direction, which regardless of taste, a game does need. The personality aspects I'd love for them to explain a bit (sure they prob will) but it is interesting, and I like seeing games have their own sense of direction, making it feel unique and fresh
The Korean city is really authentic. I live in South Korea. Korea is an amazing mix between traditional and advanced. The city is exactly what you would see if you went to Korea. 🙂
@@garthst.claire3459 You can play with a cartoon filter so even if you don't vibe with the hyper-realistic graphics, you can customize it to look like cartoon :))
I think it would be great to have a new simulation game that we can play. The Sims right now seems to monopolize this game genre. That doesn’t mean I will stop playing the Sims. It does however mean it would be nice to have other choices. I’m excited and I do hope this games comes to fruition.
That is true but at the same time if enough people wanted supernatural beings or aspects of the game I’m more than sure they would be willing to put it into the game. Their discord is very open and even has an “idea” submission. So if the demand is there they would for sure.
yeah, I don't think this game will ever have that. admittedly we don't have a firm option for that coming up (I assume the next sims game will but of course been a long time since we got any inf0). LBY wasn't going to either. Paralives said they'd be open to perhaps doing a supernatural dlc in the future, of course also a big maybe and these differences showcase why it's not just one game killing another
Zero Sims games started with a bunch of Supernatural characters (maybe aliens in Sims 2, but really they were mostly just green sims), the supernatural play always came after. You need to get the normies right first then, if so desired, you build on that with Supernaturals.
They have a cat that's basically the CEO of "Heaven" so I think there's room for more weird/supernatural things in the future. 😹 I'm an occult player too so I'm hopeful for that.
The system requirements may be shocking, but it's nothing special given similar Windows games released in past few years having higher requirements mainly due to games being designed for PS5 and Xbox Series which also affects Windows games' system requirements. Admittedly, the GPU requirement _is_ higher than other games like Starfield, Cyberpunk 2077, and Hogwarts Legacy. However, inZOI uses Unreal Engine 5 which may contribute to high system requirements. Many games since late 2013/2014 has always been 64-bit only. There are a few exceptions like The Sims 4 (initially, now 64-bit only), Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, Black Mesa, and RPG Maker MV (although RPG Maker MZ would be 64-bit only) which are 32-bit. It's to note Krafton hasn't released any games on Mac considering PUBG isn't released on macOS although it has been released on iOS as PUBG Mobile, so it wouldn't be surprising if inZOI in Windows only. The page also doesn't mention Linux or Steam Deck which would be assumed the game would be optimized for Windows PCs rather than Linux or the Steam Deck handheld.
Damn, I have the recommended specs but sheesh these are very high. I don't think they'll bring in too many sims players because not everyone can afford a pc powerful enough to run this game.
Krafton has some iffy stuff, too, so I wouldn't say one game is a panacea (depending on what upset you about EA) still should some games come out here, having more options in the genre could lead to some positive changes
These are the specs that are most popular nowadays, I hope they don't aim to optimize it too much because they might end up sacrificing a lot of their original vision to make more people happy. I say they stick to these specs and flesh out the game fully then later down the line they worry about optimization. Vision over everything else, because I want them to be happy with what they made five or ten years from now rather than regretting it because they couldn't please everyone.
optimize doesn't mean they will lower the specs. you optimize to make sure the game runs as well s possible and provides the best, for instance, fps for the recommended specs
@@SimmerErin It happens sometimes, although this might not be the case, I'm just referring to the times when specs were lowered after massive planned content was cut for a "smoother performance".
The personality system they use is the Enneagram. You can look this up, it's really interesting. It's a system that categorizes people into 9 types. The types at the bottom are 4 (on the right side) and 5 (on the left side), 9 is at the top with 1 on the right side and 8 on the left side. The other numbers are in a row between these. The mediator and the dreamer are both Enneagram 9, but the mediator has an 8 wing and the dreamer has a 1 wing. The leader and the authoritarian are both Enneagram 8 but the first one has a 9 wing and the second one a 7 wing and so on. That's why there are always two of the same kind. It's fascinating for me that they made this choice! I find the Enneagram very interesting, what's the reason why I immediately recognized it (I'm a 9w1, a dreamer). I think it's a really cool and new way to create personalities for a game.
I think it looks gorgeous, but I hope it doesn't trigger uncanny valley for people. It also looks interesting and I went ahead and added it to my wishlist.
@@potts995 Well, yeah, but its the opposite issue - me, I think it looks good, and I'm sure enough people will agree, and if there is easy modding, then it wouldn't matter much anyway.
graphics are subjective so it may for some- or maybe some aspect of the gameplay will. and that's okay, because not every game is for everyone. I know that there will be a filter where they can transform graphics to a more stylized look
I was not waiting for this game, but I saw that the recommended graphics card is a goddamn RTX 3070 or RX 6800 XT is insane, and the cpu is a 12th gen i7 / AMD 7 5800. Can we all appreciate how batshit insane this is? That's something you see in top of the line AAA games with raytracing and what not. Is it really cooking that much, or just awfully optimised?
@@LucasSchimmel No it seems to really be cooking that much if you ask me, and open world simulation games are supposedly very demanding in general. It also likely uses ray tracing since the lighting looks extremely realistic.
it's not too surprising given what the game is, with the lighting, graphics, open world and some other elements to it. But regardless, optimization even with those high specs will be very important
Coz from what we have seen, this game seems has lot graphic requirement like those AAA games too. So them having similar spec as to run AAA games kinda make sense.
I agree. it's not enough to just have traits. we gotta actually have them matter. The sims 3 had so many traits, but most of them amounted to "take an angry shower" "take a daring shower" "take an eco friendly shower". where nothing changes besides a few lines of text. I don't know if this game is "for me" yet. I need some humor and a sense of randomness in my life sims.I need more substance than flash But what I will awknowlede is that a good portion of the life sim community want just this : a high graphical life sim version of GTA I'm not sure if this is a Sims Killer, but from the batch of games we currently have. InZoi seems like the most likely one to.
lol a Japanese game based on Venice beach California. As a native of Los Angeles, I am VERY interested in seeing how well they do. I couldn’t be less interested in cars, if I cared about cars I’d play driving games. It’s fine that they’re there but I hope it’s a loading screen. It would be nice to have some fancy cars to put in a car garage though, and show off your collection
I wish they implemented big five personality traits (openness to experience, neuroticism, extroversion, agreeableness conscientiousness). All the other traits like 'adventurous' would be correlated with zoi's score on each. Perhaps they could be adjustable (because there is interplay of those traits, so it is not as easy as to say, that just because you're an extrovert, you are adventurous) but it would add another layer of realism.
@@NatureFreak1127 They had something like that previously, though it's unclear right now if this new trait system replaces that or if it's additional to it Edit: a german youtuber just uploaded footage of CAZ and the new system is the only system, so they indeed removed the previous personality traits
Looking forward especially to learning more about Inzoi-traits/personalities - how unique we can make a character and how differnent combinations of traits will play out in-game!
I’m very interested to discover how the game handles illness, accidents and death. I doubt they’re going to have ghosts. Will make legacy style gameplays very interesting with unexpected twists and turns! Hopefully there will be some in game way to track generations.
60 to 75 GB of storage is wild, thought I am not surprised it will take a high end graphics and quite a lot of RAM. I added it to my wish list. So I am looking forward to see how it turns out.
I learned that MBTI is a really big thing in South Korea. The personality system reminds me of that instantly. Being an INFP I immediately recognized “the Mediator” at 9:40. I think building the Zoi’s personality is like building their MBTI.
Newer Macs with Apple Silicon aren't compatible with Windows ARM in Bootcamp. You'd need to run a virtual machine. And even then, there is no guarantee it would work.
I love the realistic look of this game and the gameplay looks promising so I hope it will follow through with expectations ! I'm so excited for this game. Disappointed that LifeByYou got cancelled... EA is finally getting competition. I haven't touched the Sims 4 in many years. I've been playing the Sims 3 instead XD
The traits are very unique and I am excited to see how they work. I hope I am soon blessed with money and time so when these come out, I can play all of them 😂😂😂😂
This boy if beefy!! 🤣🤣🤣 (in comparison, Dragon’s Dogma 2, Tekken 8 and The First Descendant - all games that came out this year by AAA studios…don’t require such high specs) it’s not 100% surprising but damn I didn’t think it was gonna require that much. I’m not worried myself since I’m just under the recommended specs but I’m curious about the performance of Inzoi
Steam has a disclosure requirement to let people know there's gen AI in their game. The fact they didn't list it is dishonest unless they suddenly decided to take all the gen AI aspects out of the game, which I doubt. Probably just trying to avoid having the game hurt in sales by those that don't support gen AI. I'll be waiting on Paralives, thanks.
I haven't been following this that closely so it may have been something most of you already noticed in previous news updates but the first thing I noticed with the wedding photo is that the sims are different heights!
not sure, I guess it all depends on how well they can get it to run at their current specs. if needed hopefully they will adjust accordingly. I think this is a game where people should ignore min specs and make sure to have recommended
5:05 YESS I would be so happy if we had full control!! The more manual the driving - the better. However I do think there should be a setting to switch from manual to full on automatic driving.
@@S0K1SS Yeah, both manual and automatic driving will be in the game at some point, Kyun himself (lead developer) has confirmed this. It won't be the same as GTA and it might not be there initially during early access, but they will be implementing it eventually.
UE5 is the best public game engine in terms of optimization, especially for higher fidelity graphics. Tbh the team could probably work on optimizing a bit further
there are UE5 games with a range of specs, but the graphics and fully open world and other things- such as being able to control crime, weather etc can play a factor into these specs. Optimization can too
I'm on a Macbook Pro, so I don't know that I'll be able to play it (though I do have a custom built Mac with more space/memory). That being said, I do think seeing the Create A Zoi in more detail will be appealing to a lot of players. I'm already curious to see the devs discuss more of those traits, how many traits a Zoi can have, etc. I don't particularly like the hyperrealism style, but that's not 100% a dealbreaker for me. Ultimately, I really want this game to succeed and be reasonably priced and have a well designed, complex, fleshed out base game so that The Sims has legitimate competition. The more life simulation games out there succeeding, the better. Even if I don't play it myself, I will definitely scope out other content creators who play it to see what it's all about and what stories they tell in this game.
Yeah if you have enough space you should be able to do bootcamp... though it is kinda shame they don't appear to be planning a Mac version (as far as I can see anyway). Def, the traits are interesting and I am curious about learning about how they operate and impact gameplay. I agree. I want those things in a simulation game too, and for the health of the genre as a whole. I hope there will be a few options
@@SimmerErin ruclips.net/video/Aav-rp8CZVA/видео.html This video has a more detailed overview of some of the other traits and their categorization. I'd definitely give myself the explorer trait. 😂
I don’t plan on buying InZoi, not my vibe. I’d rather go back to playing Sims 3 open world if I really feel done with Sims 4. That being said, so interested in seeing how launch goes for InZoi and how it changes the lifesim landscape.
the personality type remind me of myers briggs lol (or rather the 16personalities website and the names they give to the types, which is pretty useful in the same way the sims used to have the astrology/points system :D)
They may well be. Myers and Briggs is MASSIVE in Korea. They even teach it in their Middle Schools. If you make a Korean friend, they are bound to ask you what your Myers and Briggs personality is, and your blood type (another huge belief structure in South Korea 🤣).
@@fransmith3255 oh i knew about blood types from being into kpop like 10 years ago, noticed a lot of korean content about mbti but i didnt know its taught in schools!
As long as this game simply RUNS, I will buy it the day it releases (or in Early Access, if available). I have some decent hopes for InZoi, but I also want to show support for any LifeSim not made by EA.
I'm very excited to see more gameplay of INZOI. I especially love the astrology-type personalities and the graphics are beautiful. Everything looks incredible so far and I hope the AI works as it should! 🤞🏻
I'm right with you! In make a character I'd be less than 2 minutes choosing what they look like. But if there was a decent personality chooser, I'd spend half an hour there making a character. I want to play with vast personalities and I want those personalities to mean something, so impact gameplay, to create dynamics between people, so make every character I play different. What they look like, well...blah...their personality and how it interacts with the world and other personalities, now that's gameplay I want to see.
yup, exactly what I value most too (other gameplay of course)- namely a game that has characters that feel and act unique and some elements of unpredictability too
As for driving cars in the game, I hope it's an option to turn that off. I'd rather focus on storylines than driving skills. My feelings about this game are "wait and see." I'm not going to buy it the minute it comes out but would rather watch some Let's Plays from RUclipsrs first to see how it functions and if it's playable for them. I also haven't seen anything regarding their monetization structure. I'm more excited about Paralives and will probably buy it immediately.
some are saying there will be an automated option- but no one said where this info is from. it is possible it was said in discord but idk and yes, the monetization is still unknown
Thanks for covering. Wow, I would have to get a new computer to play Inzoi! 😂. It looks really good. I do hope there’s drama if two Inzoi’s have contrasting traits.
Broadband connection required... It shall be interesting to see what that means. Needed to download? Needed to update? Needed for verification? Needed for AI features? Needed to play? Needed for Krafton to watch your gameplay and report it to the proper authorities? I did not see any mention of multiplayer at this time, so that's probably not it.
Oh good catch, well I presume it's a live service game, and they'd want you online. But as far as how much it extends- like is there an offline mode, etc- that I honestly do not know
Honestly, I expected it to be a bit higher but my system meets the recommended requirements luckily. I'm still iffy on InZoi but depending on reviews of the gameplay I might pick it up.
I wish more people list their system specs. We have 3 GPU vendors nowadays (Nvidia, AMD, Intel + ARM on development). Because I know AMD GPU doesn't work well back in the Sims 3. Well, I guess I'm just hoping the benchmark dudes put InZoi on their test. I also hope that they optimize the game heavily since the simulation is also very taxing on the CPU (the main reason why the Sims 3 flops is because it only supports x86 and 2-core CPU, which means you need to disable hyperthreading for better performance). Recommended specs list Ryzen 5800 (high core CPU) and RX 6800 XT which is higher than the average current-gen games. I just hope it doesn't lag 'too much' like on their old preview video.
I'm not 100% sure my computer will run it, so I guess i'll be experimenting a bit when it comes out 😅. I like the look of the personality system so far, the character creation. It definitely looks like it'll be leaning into Korean culture, but I wouldn't expect anything else from a Korean company. It'll be interesting to see a life sim game from a different, non-American perspective. I wasn't totally sold when it was first announced, but I'm pretty into what I see so far and will definitely be buying it.
They have chosen to release this at the perfect time while literally the Sims 4 is on fire! I hope EA are shitting themselves! Can't wait for the release, I hope it performs well and I can leave Sims 4 behind for good!
I'm more interested in more options and expanding the genre, less about getting revenge so to speak on EA. This mentality is the same people have had for other games that haven't turned out. It is launching this year in early access- don't know the final launch date yet
The categories make sense to me. There are two variations of each trait. Perfectionist vs social activist express their personality trait in two different ways. They both want to make the world a better place but they go about it differently. So, the difference between them is more nuanced than the differences between two completely different traits. This kind of system allows you to fine tune the personality of your ZOI to a very fine degree. Will it have consequences in the game? That I don't know. But it has potential. My main requirement is that everything is as customizable as possible. I have my one unique game play style and want to be able to do things my way. My biggest complaint about most games is the lack of options. If in doubt, give the player more options.
They may well be. Myers and Briggs is MASSIVE in Korea. They even teach it in their Middle Schools. If you make a Korean friend, they are bound to ask you what your Myers and Briggs personality is, and your blood type (another huge belief structure in South Korea ).
Looking forward to finally getting an open world sim again. EA has had a monopoly on life sims for far too long... and when they did they just kept taking away features and making them smaller.

Interesting information. I have a "new desktop" computer given to me recently which *might* be able to handle it, but I haven't set it up. (My current desktop works fine but is only an I3 and can't be upgraded because the BIOS is outmoded. But moving all the files is holding me up. That and losing my Windows Office 2010. I don't want Office 365 and the one that you can get from Microsoft that *doesn't* require a "monthly subscription" is a bit pricey from my point of view. I use OpenOffice by Apache on my laptop, but it has limitations I don't have on Windows Office.) I have misgivings about the graphics. It's a bit too "AI pseudo-realism" for me. The traits look interesting. Some of the trait descriptions sound rather prejudicial, which made me uncomfortable. I doubt I will play it. It doesn't look overall like my kind of game. But I like the fact that they are putting this out because it does sound like something others will enjoy. I got a kick out of the comments one Simmer on X/Twitter wrote about how the high requirements might push Simmers to upgrade *their* computers so The Sims will not keep trying to include those people whose computers are not "gaming computers" but who still want to play The Sims. We'll see. From my point of view, we need both games open to people who may only have a "school laptop" and other games for those who want their game to only work on high-end computers with the best graphics, speed, etc.
oh what a great gift, happy for you. I'd love to hear more of your thoughts about the discomfort with traits- but absolutely only if you are comfortable. Oh goodness ha so many in the sims community have some pretty stark ideas. I agree with you. I want to see more options, and that includes a range. It is not inherently better or worse for a game to have higher or lower specs
I am looking forward to playing this game, but i really hope they introduce some type of occults likes witch, vampires or faeries. These are very inportant to me and is why i play sims.
yeah, they are apparently active on their discord but a lot quieter on socials. So I can understand missing it. Last year, there was a demo given to a few content creators (many in the sims community) so if you type in InZoi review on RUclips, you may find those. I recommend English Simmer's especially. There are also 2 or 3 dev videos that I covered on my channel. They will be at Gamecom (Germany) soonish
I might eventually try it out, but meh. I'll stick with Sims 4 for when I wanna play a Life Sim game. Maybe Paralives too, when it releases and Sims 5/project renee. I play lots of different games though, so it will really depend on other games and whats going on in them.
I would like to see "normal" faces and bodies in this game and not only perfect/beautiful character designs... I think it would be good for players to be able to create a character based on themself, and also if everyone looks so perfect in-game, that might create false expectations to young people about how a normal person should look (this of cours is just my opinion, I might be wrong). Game look amazing tho, thanks for the news, I will wishlist right now!
If you go on Steam, there are more pictures of the characters and they are pretty diverse. Not all human flaws can be represented in a virtual world, it's just impossible. What they have now is a good start and I'm sure they will be open to adding more customizations as the game progresses.
@@SyntheticGoth You are right! I checked Steam pictures and there are more diverse faces over there, that is great, I usually spend hours creating the characters in games so I love to see more options to choose from, thank you! 🙂
Same, I played The Sims since the original and spent many hours on each one, I am not a kid anymore (42 yo dinosaur gamer here haha) so I don’t have as much time to play now, but I’m sure I will manage to spend many hours creating my characters anyway! 😂

The game is as i feared; the specs oof. I'm not surprised people are arguing on X even if a new PC will cost $2k, it's much better than playing a broken game so it's the 'what system requirements EA should have ' argument & agsin the "competition". Making it like buying a new PC us easy when not everyone can and some might argue how they spent a lot on 4 so what buy a new PC to play another game. "Actually mske a living" might not be like Sims, even if we're talking about 3, no struggling financially. Considering the last video i decided to watch and they said lots of consequences. Gave me GTA vibes. This game isn't for me. Way to realistic and well it's a game hoping, actually they think they will, take down EA. I don't bssh EA or loath thrm, so definitely i don't belkong in this game's community. I'm saying "competition" because people are talking not whst competitive means. So not looking forward to the game ( and Paralives) releasing. Ufh all the "look whst we have that Sins can't". Chosing to talk as if all Sims games had nothing. Efen if people say Sims 4, it's still going to be annoying. Prono time too yikes including when Sins will be talking about bew dlc when these games are released. Again "competition".
it def has a little GTA to it, though tamer and more situated on daily simulation. kinda crossover with sims, GTA and a city building game. I think it's cool to see other options, but yeah you know me I don't think the whole "sims killer" discourse really ever makes much sense.
At the end of the day, sims 4 also runs on consoles including last gen PS4 so unless they want to lose that compatibility they also have to stay within the range of continuing to exist on all the platforms they currently exist on.
Oh, lord, those minimum specs... I'm sorry, but asking for a freaking NVIDIA RTX 2060 as your *minimum* puts an end to the narrative of Inzoi being a The Sims killer. If Maxis continues on their route of appealing to low-to-mid specs users for The Sims 5, they won't be losing that top stop any time soon.
I never believed in the sims killer narrative honestly. I feel it's an odd one: most sub genre of games have multiple games, and that's a good thing.l some also won't want the graphics, or some may want a more quirky take or supernatural elements etc. They said Project Rene (sims) last we heard would aim for making it accessible to a range of devices, and I suspect that will remain true
I kind of wonder if the personality traits are going for something adjacent to personality tests like Myers Briggs. Some crossover but ultimately characteristics distinguish them into different personalities?
I hope that there are opt out options for things like the car accident death. I love the idea of it for players that don't have trauma related to car accidents. I certainly wouldn't want it removed from the game. However, as someone who struggles with childhood trauma directly related to a car accident that altered my life at the age of 10, I would greatly appreciate the option to opt out. If that's not a feature, I will have to prepare myself to quickly quit the game without saving to avoid a PTSD trigger.
I was so ready to jump EA sims for Life by You, especially since the last expansion so can't wait for InZoi.
just as a note of caution- just like LBY, no of these games are guaranteed, a lot is unknown about the actual quality of the gameplay, and none will be flawless or inherently avoid perceived flaws of sims
I am waiting on Paralives - until then I will have to endure with Sims... I don't think my computer is good enough for this game, but also I am not so much into the hyperrealism - but I understand why people are interested.

For sure, we still don't know what monetization model they will use. all come with pros and cons, of course
is u crazy? the requirements are quite beefy. im building my gaming pc and the recommended is my current config
lol do you even game on PC, these specs are beefy.
Unfortunately this is surpassing my modest gaming laptop. I'm still set on Paralives when it comes our way!
yup mine as well ha. course it'll be a while before this comes out, but unless I get a salary raise some year idk
These tend to change the more they optimize the game. HAVE HOPE
Inzoi is ready to scoop up some of the sims4 community
I think some will try it fully, some will play both. InZoi of course could draw a player base outside of the sims community potentially too.
I believe so too especially since the updates broke a lot of simmers save files and are unable to play sims all together😭

10:15 THE BABY IS SO CUTEE 😭
the babies have a lot of realistic touches
Exactly, yandeer simulator which looked like the cheap asset flip it was, stuttered in gameplay on even high end computers.
The lack of transparency we get from EA regarding Sims 5 is frustrating. It’s like they are so secretive about showing us anything. 😢
And if you are on their discord it’s even MORE transparent. He even discusses concerns and issues he has about how long the days should be, input from international fans for better understanding of cultures to make it better in game, certain functions and skills. Like it’s a community based driven game for sure right now.
atp i don't think it even exists
@@blissfilleit’s both issues. i’m pretty sure they have says they cannot implement a lot of things because they want to keep that minimum requirement
Nah. If modders can fix the bugs then technically anything can be fixed if they’re good enough with their coding and all.
I think graphics are just subjective , but the key is for the style to feel cohesive and fairly consistent for the game- a visual identity so to speak. and in general I like seeing different options available
welcome!
The version they sent out was Alpha so it likely had higher required specs.

the character creation pics is out of this world.
it certainly draws comparisons and inspirations from games like sims, city skylines, and GTA- with of course its own unique combination and style

I'm so excited! I've never followed a game like this before and paid so much attention to it before it was released. This is exhilarating, lol.
one thing i miss here is supernatural beings, i love playing as those and this game will mostly if not utterly lean into realism .
Paralives said they'd be open to perhaps doing a supernatural dlc in the future, of course also a big maybe
and these differences showcase why it's not just one game killing another
Zero Sims games started with a bunch of Supernatural characters (maybe aliens in Sims 2, but really they were mostly just green sims), the supernatural play always came after. You need to get the normies right first then, if so desired, you build on that with Supernaturals.
That’s why the Sims still has purpose.

The page also doesn't mention Linux or Steam Deck which would be assumed the game would be optimized for Windows PCs rather than Linux or the Steam Deck handheld.
ah, thanks for the last paragraph. I prob wasn't going to play anyway, but not being on Mac kinda sells me to not ha .
Damn, I have the recommended specs but sheesh these are very high. I don't think they'll bring in too many sims players because not everyone can afford a pc powerful enough to run this game.
I think it's good to have games of differing specs, both high and low end. variety is key
I was a lifelong sims player (since 2001) but EA broke my trust over the last few years. I'm VERY hopeful for inZoi!
Krafton has some iffy stuff, too, so I wouldn't say one game is a panacea (depending on what upset you about EA)
still should some games come out here, having more options in the genre could lead to some positive changes
This game looks so so so beautiful. Super excited. Haven’t played my sims4 game for months but I’m excited to explore Inzoi
It might, but surely it can’t be any worse than Sims 3’s “pudding faces” 😂
I need some humor and a sense of randomness in my life sims.I need more substance than flash
But what I will awknowlede is that a good portion of the life sim community want just this : a high graphical life sim version of GTA
I'm not sure if this is a Sims Killer, but from the batch of games we currently have.
It would be nice to have some fancy cars to put in a car garage though, and show off your collection
it's a Korean game, not Japanese.
They do have world in California, but the first world is based in Korea.
@@NatureFreak1127 They had something like that previously, though it's unclear right now if this new trait system replaces that or if it's additional to it
Edit: a german youtuber just uploaded footage of CAZ and the new system is the only system, so they indeed removed the previous personality traits
certainly a cool concept that could have potential
Looking forward especially to learning more about Inzoi-traits/personalities - how unique we can make a character and how differnent combinations of traits will play out in-game!
yes, that definitely is a key aspect that hopefully they will explain as they get closer to launch
I’m very interested to discover how the game handles illness, accidents and death. I doubt they’re going to have ghosts. Will make legacy style gameplays very interesting with unexpected twists and turns! Hopefully there will be some in game way to track generations.
yeah, I also very much doubt there'd be ghosts
That wedding scene is GORGEOUS! Can't believe InZoi is coming soon. I need to check my specs.
I appreciate the use of decor and the landscaping
60 to 75 GB of storage is wild, thought I am not surprised it will take a high end graphics and quite a lot of RAM.
I added it to my wish list. So I am looking forward to see how it turns out.
60-75 GB is actually surprisingly low for how big the game looks, i had expected more
I heard it come with 3 initial cities on its released. It's a huge game ! 😅
@@003tureshi3 yeah the Korean city, LA boardwalk and another would be South east Asian inspired.
Not sure if they are planning an European centric one
I'm pretty sure my PC would expire in a cloud of smoke if I tried running this game even on minimum specs. XD I only have GT730 for Graphics card.
yeah I get that
Don't worry your not alone my graphics card is a gtx 970 4gb so i won't be able to play this game.😭
So lucky my old gaming laptop fits the specs. So happy to have a life sim that’s not made by ea. hopefully the price of it isn’t too bad.
Excited for this! I have a love/hate thing with the sims, but their hasn’t been a worthy competitor.
it's been rocky even getting a single other option. Hoping something turns out purely to add some more innovation and choice in the genre
@@SimmerErin I hope so too
I learned that MBTI is a really big thing in South Korea.
And even then, there is no guarantee it would work.
oh really, did not know that. That's a shame
@@SimmerErin Yep!! Found out the hard way by trying to play Planet Zoo. I bought a PC just for gaming hahaha
I'll be waiting on Paralives, thanks.
oh really, I honestly did not know that. where can I find this disclosure? good on them (steam not inzoi lol)
I haven't been following this that closely so it may have been something most of you already noticed in previous news updates but the first thing I noticed with the wedding photo is that the sims are different heights!
Something tells me that the recommended specs to run this game will get higher the closer we get to the release date.
not sure, I guess it all depends on how well they can get it to run at their current specs. if needed hopefully they will adjust accordingly.
It is a UE5 game so im not surprised by the specs at all. Good thing I have a 3K€ gaming PC.
Optimization can too
@@jorrdan. lol it runs like ass #stutterstrugle.
@@jorrdan. it is absolutely not, almost all newer high profile UE5 games run like garbage
My specs
7800x3d
rtx4080
1000w
32gb
you?
One thing that is disappointing is the graphics card though..gotta safe a lot of money..
@@SimmerErin ruclips.net/video/Aav-rp8CZVA/видео.html
This video has a more detailed overview of some of the other traits and their categorization. I'd definitely give myself the explorer trait. 😂
Looks like I’m going to have to save up for a new computer. Wow, this looks so amazing. I hope the gameplay is as good as the graphics.
I don’t plan on buying InZoi, not my vibe. I’d rather go back to playing Sims 3 open world if I really feel done with Sims 4.
That being said, so interested in seeing how launch goes for InZoi and how it changes the lifesim landscape.
same, I want to see what it does and follow its development even if it's not the game for me.
Now I want to play sims 3 ha
the personality type remind me of myers briggs lol (or rather the 16personalities website and the names they give to the types, which is pretty useful in the same way the sims used to have the astrology/points system :D)
Really looking forward to this, would be nice to get an official release date!
all I know is that early access is coming 2024 / this year
feels great to have this game on my steam wishlist now
As long as this game simply RUNS, I will buy it the day it releases (or in Early Access, if available). I have some decent hopes for InZoi, but I also want to show support for any LifeSim not made by EA.
we'll see how well they optimize it. always hard to tell yet
Looks like I'm gonna have to wait for the console release.
yes, it sounds like they hope to release it on console "later' but I don't have details aside from that
I'm very excited to see more gameplay of INZOI. I especially love the astrology-type personalities and the graphics are beautiful. Everything looks incredible so far and I hope the AI works as it should! 🤞🏻
Husband just built me a gaming PC. It chews the Sims with ease. Can't wait for this!
that's awesome of your husband to do for you
I'm right with you!
I'm more excited about Paralives and will probably buy it immediately.
some are saying there will be an automated option- but no one said where this info is from. it is possible it was said in discord but idk
and yes, the monetization is still unknown
Thanks for covering. Wow, I would have to get a new computer to play Inzoi! 😂. It looks really good. I do hope there’s drama if two Inzoi’s have contrasting traits.
welcome!
yes, for me anyway a key to games like this is how the characters themselves behave in game
wow cutest baby ive seen in a sim in my entire life
Broadband connection required...
But as far as how much it extends- like is there an offline mode, etc- that I honestly do not know
4:12 I really wish people would realize that black men have more than one hair style. I am so sick of this damn loc'd/braided side sweep...
Who says there isn't more hairstyles for black men? The game isn't even out yet. CHILL.
There are a lot more hair styles for everyone - more than The Sims has, in fact... And they are colourable and alterable too.
I have seen a few others, but I am not sure to the extent of it. I def understand that, it does seem to be the go to style ha
@@gwjsbmshe is being chill.
I agree, tbh. Wouldnt be surprised if we have to rely on black simmers for cc and stuff.
Honestly, I expected it to be a bit higher but my system meets the recommended requirements luckily. I'm still iffy on InZoi but depending on reviews of the gameplay I might pick it up.
im skeptic about the gameplay, but i wish them the best
being skeptical can be healthy with reason- what are you most skeptical about
It will be intresting to see how much they sell. With those recomendations. they better have a game play that match the Recuirement.
what do you hope to see out of gameplay
@@SimmerErin i hope they have put as much energy on game play as with graphics. because nobody is happy with even the nicest looking buggy game.
I wasn't totally sold when it was first announced, but I'm pretty into what I see so far and will definitely be buying it.
there's be a world based in Korea, one based in San Fran, and I believe a European world
They have chosen to release this at the perfect time while literally the Sims 4 is on fire!
8:16 I wonder if the personalities were based off of MBTI. INFP is also called the Mediator and sometimes the Dreamer.
They may well be. Myers and Briggs is MASSIVE in Korea. They even teach it in their Middle Schools. If you make a Korean friend, they are bound to ask you what your Myers and Briggs personality is, and your blood type (another huge belief structure in South Korea ).
I'm thinking it's likely, looking back at it. I have lots of friends who are INFPs, like most of them ha
@@SimmerErin I'm also INFP lol. 😂
Looking forward to finally getting an open world sim again. EA has had a monopoly on life sims for far too long... and when they did they just kept taking away features and making them smaller.
we'll have to see what happens, but certainly it's better for a sub genre to have more than one option
I been put down Sims 4. My PC's processer is slightly below the recommended specs but it should be more than able to handle Inzoi. I'm excited.
🎉😂🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉Im soooo excited for this best game coming driving cars too and axcidents fun im not good at it too😂😂but will learn to save my inzoi family😅🎉the game loooks so beutiful ❤❤❤
I use OpenOffice by Apache on my laptop, but it has limitations I don't have on Windows Office.)
I have misgivings about the graphics.
I'd love to hear more about the traits being prejudicial if you don't mind sharing?
I unreal for my design renders would be crazy to see this in game form
Eu gostaria de jogar, estou imaginando o quanto de conteúdo RP da para criar com esse jogo fantástico
I am looking forward to playing this game, but i really hope they introduce some type of occults likes witch, vampires or faeries. These are very inportant to me and is why i play sims.
I find it unlikely given their realism focus, but truly who knows
I can more then run this
Processor: Ryzen 9 5900X
Memory: 32 GB
Graphics: RTX 4070 (12 GB vram)
I have not heard of this game before. I was only watching Paralives and LifeByYou
yeah, they are apparently active on their discord but a lot quieter on socials.
I prob won't ha, but I may follow its development for some time. I am learning there's very little chance it'll come to Mac anyway
@@zombi996 Np! Glad to hear you're excited, I am too! I already spend so much time in CAS and I feel like it's going to be worse with INZOI. 😅
Same, I played The Sims since the original and spent many hours on each one, I am not a kid anymore (42 yo dinosaur gamer here haha) so I don’t have as much time to play now, but I’m sure I will manage to spend many hours creating my characters anyway! 😂
@@zombi996 45 year old fellow dinosaur, I am actually finding more time to play games now then I did in my youth (as in 20s, early 30s). I stopped playing video games for a good decade due to lack of both time and money and life things that I had to prioritize. Its been fun to get back into it.
Some crossover but ultimately characteristics distinguish them into different personalities?
it sounds like it, it at very least, looking back, does appear to be lifting names from it
I hope that there are opt out options for things like the car accident death.
I have seen some gameplay and it's not for me, but congrats (?) to those who can play and enjoy this game.
