Torrential rains in a short period of time lead to the flooding - a rare phenomenon that has happened at least three times in the last 16 years. Olho D’Água ("eyes of water”) is a popular snorkeling spot known for its crystalline waters. The clarity of the river comes from minerals that rapidly take out dirt and impurities as they descend to the bottom. The water receded to its normal level by the end of the day. Recanto Ecológico Rio da Prata is in Mato Grosso do Sul in Brazil’s pantanal region.

Olho D'Água means "Eyes of the River" in Portuguese. How do you think the floods will affect the wildlife in the hiking trails of Recanto Ecológico Rio da Prata?
National Geographic, just a little correction. Literally "Olho" means eye, but in this case means "fountain". So "Olho d'água" it's an expression that means "wellspring", the place were water comes from. 😊 Thanks for the video and hope I've helped you guys. "Abraços" from Brazil!

This is mindblowing. The person filming is just casually walking underwater that's as clear as a glass of drinking water. He doesn't seem to be affected by the water at all, no bubbles rising up, no sediment being stirred, water perfectly still around him and none of the vegetation or underwater leaves look like they're being lifted upward by buoyancy. Even the dirt walking paths don't look muddy at all even though they're sitting under like five feet of water. I know it's real but my brain doesn't want to accept that it is. It just looks so fake. Probably one of the most amazing sights in the world.

ImMoreAwesomer I don’t live in Nova Scotia fool. I lived in Ontario then moved out west to Saskatchewan and still see crystal clear lakes. lol they are not “EXTREMELY” rare bud. Maybe the mechanism is a rate occurrence. There are caves with uranium dust on the walls naturally. There is Evan a bacteria that uses uranium to make fuel.
As a Brazilian, it feels nice to see more people seeing the beauty from our country.
