The Alley Backing is tough. I encourage every person that needs to get their CDL-A's in North Carolina, this will be a backing maneuver you will have to perform. Watch, study and practice the information in this video. It helped me get my A's this past Friday.
We love North Carolina!
Thank you, brother, and the best of luck in your future pursuits.
That's me
Im in school now just tried my 1st alley dock today its hard!!
My trainer is telling me a different way that confuses me
I passed my test with an alley dock in 2014. It's one of the easiest parking maneuvers there is.
You guys explain better than school intructors.
Those bastards...thanks, Anderson! Happy to help.
I agree. I test out September 10 & just graduated last Friday. This is what I’ve been having issues with. I’ll get it and then I’ll lose it. I’m so nervous.
True
That's why they tell us to stay off RUclips they ass can't teach
Facts
I had to come here to learn how to do a proper alley dock. My trainers at school explain it very vaguely and when you don’t get it instantly they basically get mad and give up on you . So thank you for making this video . Amazing directions super simplified
So true
I attend Road master in Atlanta GA . I've been through so much and will not stop until I have them A in my hand . God has been blessing me. I'm homeless but he will work it out for me.
Good for you, Stacy! We like your spirit.
Stacy Wilson - Thomas I'm in the same boat Stacy going to Roadmasters in Dunn, NC
Stacy Wilson - Thomas did you get your CDL
God got you bro.
I hope it works out for you!
You guys this video is on point. For those of you having trouble just relax and take your time. We didn't have alley docking on our exam so we didn't work on it much. When I got my first job I failed my training due to that and was released. Someone hired me as a yard jockey and with the help of this video, I got the hang of it. 8 months later I can do it with my eyes closed! Good luck to you all, YOU CAN DO IT.
I was Zero in Backing. 7 Lessons of 2 hours each, and i was blank. I gave up Backing. But then i saw your video. Then the whole concept got into my mind and i started learning and in the very next lesson BOOOM the trailer was in. Thank you soooo much you are Awesome Great.. I can't find words to priase you.
This maneuver can be difficult to explain. So glad you found our Alley Dock video, Manoj. Right is fast, left is slow, brother. Stay safe!
Manoj Agnihotri me either
I spend 16 hours can’t get in
But after went dmv to watching
I released I so stupid because I thought we have only 2 pull-ups
But is not
We have 10 times pull ups if we didn’t used any pull ups for 2 first skills
@@phoquang7313 can you support that claim providing link or something?
got my CDL 5 years ago. video better than school instructors
Thank you, Duy! We appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment today.
agreed
Faaaaaacts, I had to curse mines out the other day...smh
I started watching this video 48 hours before my skills test and nailed that Shitttt up , this guy is a genius. If you apply everything he says there ain’t no way for you to be failing the test.
In trucking school right now, we're doing "Offset & Alley Dock" watching your videos are more informative than my instructor (s), glad to have found this channel.
The way my instructors had taught me this maneuver just wasn't working for me. I came across this video two nights before my CDL test and practiced it on the pad. It really helped me build a better angle and accurately predict which way the trailer was going. I used this method during my test and only had to use 1 pull-up. Passed! Thank you for the great video!
Studied this video, practiced the technique for 3 hours in an abandoned parking lot the morning of my test. No doubt in my mind that these backing videos helped me pass my CDL test Wednesday. Thank you guys for sharing the information!
I'm in school learning alley docking and there wasn't as thorough a breakdown of this backing maneuver from the teachers. THIS video has helped make sense of how this should be executed. Thanks
Watching this video helped me get my CDL-A's yesterday.
Thanks you.
Outstanding, Joey! Thanks for watching and for the shout out.
This is helping me so much. I test on Wednesday and cannot get this maneuver. Going in to practice all day Saturday and Sunday I won’t stop until I get it!!!! I want it too bad to fail. Wish me luck
Did you get it ?
Thanks a lot. I finally got my CDL.
You're very welcome. Congratulations! If you need a job now or in the future, register with Gary's Job Board. Gary sends job offers to your email for free. No spam, no games, just jobs.
Wish i learnt from you. Our school taught hard right hard left till i am dizzy. But you explain the purpose of right is Fast Left is slow. Now i can shoot to any dock with this set up. Hugh Thanks
Of the many alley dock videos I've watched, this detailed, animated instructional video is by far the best. The alley dock maneuver just clicked in my head. Thanks a lot.
These are absolutely the best videos for new drivers or my husband said they are awesome and he has been driving over 20 years
You and your husband ROCK, Sheila! Thank you for the vote of confidence and for watching our videos.
I passed my driving test because of this video. I learned more from this short video than 4 weeks of the school I went to.
This is better than every docking explanation I've ever heard ever in the history of time.
I passed backings on my first attempt after watching this video. I can’t thank you enough but all I got to say is May God bless you buddy. This video is precise, and accurate and right on the money.
War ma ku shaqaysay ? Truck school ban ku jira Seattle and I'm having hard time with 90 😢
@@somalien9447 haa Walaahi si fiican.
I have to do a CDL test with a 24 foot triple axle and I’ve been watching a lot of videos on perfecting my alley dock. This video is the best by far. Thank you so much and great job.
🤜💥 holy guacamole, I'm so attempting this tomorrow at school, shout out to my boys at school! 😎We Got This.
This is the most bestes, informative alley dock backing video on RUclips. Because if this video I learned to to do it, who ever is teaching, I love you......
We love you to, Reggie. This maneuver can be difficult for some instructors to explain, so they tech their students to jackknife the trailer, instead. The arc teaches you more about trailer control. Glad you liked our video, brother.
Sweet video. The best explanation and graphic demonstration of an alley dock I've seen yet. "Right is fast, left is slow." I've never heard anyone describe it that way before, but that is exactly what happens. I'm getting back on the road after many years and this was a good refresher. Thank you!
I am in cdl school right now and I have been struggling with the 90. This definitely looks like it will make it easier. Thank you
all DMV's/schools should recommend this channel
I passed! Studied your video 5 minutes before I went...everything worked perfect, examiner said I did good lol. I used two pull ups during alley kept telling myself right is fast left is slow hard left to straighten out. What a journey so far...so much more to learn, loving it...thank goodness again for this video! Why is this training video technique not mandatory instruction for all training schools?
We sure would hate to force other schools to use our videos, but your sentiment is admirable. Thanks, Jon, and congratulations to you.
@@Cdlcollege What states can you do this method and pass? I’m in PA 👍🏽
I did exactly like this yesterday and I pass my test.
same
I went to a big name school name school. The secretary sold me a lot of lies. Prayers and your videos saved me! Thanks a million for taking the time to make these videos.
Explained WAY better than any of the instructors at my school.
That's what we like to read, Bob! Thank you for watching and complimenting. Right is fast, left is slow. Take your time and go slow. Use your 2 free pulls forward if you need to. Stay safe, brother.
Mines too actually one of my instructors got frustrated with me because I couldn’t day o it
you have the best explanation
This really simplified the performance of this maneuver. Thanks a lot for this video. These are the best I've seen.
SOMEONE had to simplify this maneuver for you guys. We're glad to be of service, Gayle. Good luck to you!
I followed your instructions today at school and ended up getting 6 out 7 in on the hole perfectly thanks for the tip. Next I will watch the Parrellel parking
You guys are great!!!!! You get right to the point, in detail and make it so easy to do!!! I can't find any video(s) on youtube better than you guys and I am absolutely certain that your videos have helped out so many beginners, including me!!!! Thanks!!!
Happy to help, Graymaulkin. We pride ourselves on making videos that are easy to understand.
I can't locate your earlier question, so I'll answer it here:
If you are consistently coming too close to the front left cone of the alley, a pull forward is the smartest next step. Now consider this:
If you pull forward to the LEFT, you'll create space between the rear corner of your trailer and the aforementioned cone. You need that space. So, pull forward a little to the left and then back to the right to square up the vehicle.
Hope that helps!
Very helpful.
This is one backing skill that seems to be so hard for me . But by watching this video It seems like it is easy. Thank you
The alley dock is the most difficult maneuver that you'll learn. Remember to let the truck do most of the work for you after you begin backing. Right is fast, left is slow.
Use your pull-ups if you must. The goal is to pass. You'll see a lot more backing in the rel world.
Thank you, Stacy!
Great clip. Very simple to understand! Out of the many Alley Backing clips that I have watched, this one is the best!
Great job!
Thank you!
I watched many of those same videos before shooting this one. Take it easy, Joey.
I watched about 50 videos on RUclips today there was only 2 videos that really showed and explained how to back up with no bs , I never knew late and early made a this amount of differences wow its definitely saver no other video told this and this is so much better then actually trainer's at school thanks for making this video definitely makes a difference 🙌
Thank you for the tips. I will be implementing them tomorrow at practice.
WOW! finally an easy step by step that I can grasp.
We try to make these maneuvers as easy-to-inderstand as possible for all new students. Thank you for watching and commenting, Virginia.
Thank you Mike for breaking down the Alley dock, I currently attend roadmasters and they didn't break it down step by step like it is done in you're video I will use these step by step instructions Saturday and Sunday when I go back to school this weekend.
Roadmaster instructor instruct you all the way back, and you never really learn that way. These guys make it a lot clearer.
Passed my test. This is the truth. Followed everything
Great! Congrats! Any video you would recommend on Pre-Trip? I lean towards their video on that topic as well, but I'm learner.
Thanks for video, i have seen dozens and yours is the best. In alley docking what is meant by "seeing a foot of the landing gear"
I am currently attending New England Tractor Trailer Training School and I am on alley docking right now, this maneuver is kicking my ass right now but I am going to brush up on your video until I get it perfect. I’m back at it on Monday. Good and very informative video!
Thanks for tips, will be used🚛👍🏾
God bless you. I have been trying unsuccessfully to do the alley dock this whole week the way my teachers showed me. Went in again today and tried for 3 hours straight, one fail after another, and then I tried this technique and nailed it with one pull forward. I was beginning to feel hopeless. THANK YOU!!!
I cannot thank you so much guys !! So educative oh my God !! Am in Windsor Canada doing my truck training . I have 1 month to finish and this material is so helpful to educate where am struggling . U guys are so clear and a wealth of information indeed !! Big up big up for sure . Thanks Michael Fox
Thank you for your excellent support, Nelson. It means a lot to us. If you have any questions, don't hesitate.
Yes best video I’ve seen, I however failed my ally dock at dmv , I know now it was my set up . In school they say , start from this spot , at dmv they say you have all this space , just respect the boundaries line.
Great instructional video. Very professional. Currently practicing my alley dock. These directions are working very well for me. Thank you
Nice, detailed,to the point, precise, accurate, helpful and indeed a Alley dock instruction video..lemme give that thumps up and subscribe.
Some dude
North York, Toronto Canada.
Y'all are doing great work! Thanks so much.
Yes, it's helps, thanks for the presentation.
Michael, thanks for this video.. this always looks so very hard, but your slow and understandable tips are very helpful. Explaining 'why you do somthing' is something some trainers forget to do.. thanks
NIce. You should definitely try this technique when you practice alley docking. On rare occasions, I've watched the trailer slide right into the alley with no steering from the student. For that to happen, the perfect angle must be found in the very first turn to the right.
Thanks for commenting!
By far the best explained video on the internet thanks
THANK YOU SO MUCH. I have to pass it with a horse trailer and this concept helped me to do it on the first try. I can't thank you enough!
Thank you so much I passed my test in Pennsylvania the tips really helped. By the way I miss Denver used to live there 10 years ago got lost in Commerce City back by the Refinery.
Michael/Atom, Your videos really help me to process the moves without overthinking them. I appreciate it all the way from Ohio!!!
Thank you, Deandre! Glad to read that you passed.
One of the best and simplest explanations
you explained this maneuver better than anyone that taught me, thank you.
Thank you soooo much after watching numerous of videos. This one did it for me
Watching this video helped me a lot
Thank you.
I am a student at Tennessee Truck diving school and this has helped me and my fellow students tremendously. Thank you so much for putting this up
You're welcome, Melvin! Thank you for the recommendation and good luck to you and your classmates.
CDL College, LLC every student that watched passed
HELPFUL!! So well described the way to back up.
Thank you for learning, Eugene! Your comment also means a lot to us.
Thanks, Atom, your school amazes yet again.
Very cool of you, John! We appreciate you watching, learning, and commenting. If you need help with shifting, check this out: ruclips.net/video/z6AKaBeRNU8/видео.html
I'm having a very hard time getting this maneuver right. It looks like this video is the best one I've seen on RUclips on this maneuver. You guys show certain things my instructor and my trainer never showed me. Thank you very much!
Nice compliment, thank you. At the beginning of the maneuver, let the combination vehicle do the work for you. Stop short of the box and determine whether you are late, in the box, or early. Right is fast, left is slow. Add right or left and back up a bit. Stop and steer back to center. Back up again and watch the trailer, no steering. You have 2 free pulls forward. Use them before you hit any cones. Glad you liked our video, ibn1989.
Yeah thanks. I already have my CDL. I got it by the skin of my teeth since I didn't have to alley dock on the maneuver test.
Same With me Bro. This video explains a lot better
Testing on the 30th. This is the best video on this maneuver so far. Thank you. It also helps to G.O.A.L. when I am about 30ft away.
Thank you for your video it help me out. I watched it everyday to get the technique well.

This video help me understand thank you
You're welcome, Rubi! Hope you are able to Alley Dock after watching this video. If you have any questions, ask us.
Clear and concise, amazing tutorial.
Very helpful, thank you for the strategy.
I'm in NJ and I have test day at DMV on Tuesday. Very helpfull video as I always end up "EARLY" when doing it at school. This video helped me out a lot. I'll practice it tomorrow on my last day of training. Thank you
You're welcome, Juan.
Stick your head out of the window and watch that trailer. Early means you're steering to the right too much. You can do this!
Thank you again 👍
I have the same problem. I always end up early.
One of the best tutorials I’ve seen! And I’ve seen MANY.
I like, your tutorial is on point, this will, keep me refreshed. Thank you
Thank you, Theresa. We tried to simplify the most difficult backing maneuver in trucking. Stay safe, sisterwoman.
