    If I recall correctly, Ben took off from the blocks with both feet at the same time. Nobody else did that.

      @genestevenson-l7v Год назад +1

      You are correct about the two foot start. I believe a couple others used that technique also. A Track Technique newsletter I read in 1971 said that German 100 meter Olympic champion Armin Hary pioneered the technique.

      If you also remember correctly Johnson was drugged to the gills. That's why he took off so fast.

  • @Fabiano79

    Crossed by the greatest hypocrisy ever seen in sport. Carl Lewis, Linford Christie both Olympic gold medalists were caught in doping. The American with a physicist wide open by Anabilziantes (Florence Griffith-Joyner) was never caught. Ridiculous. For me Ben will be remembered for being an extremely strong runner with a strong start and after getting upright to increase his speed and be steady, something no sprinter in the world has ever done. Bolt starts poorly, but Bolt is on another level. Ben was 20 years ahead of his time.

He was a spectacular runner, probably the greatest start we've ever seen.

      @@отпирайте dude i know my athletics. Ben was an also ran in canada for a long time in the 10.4s. He may have been using PEDs then because testing was poor. Whatever he was using it wasnt dbol..probably s'zol as its quick to clear and pretty mild in terms of speed gains. they call it one of the more 'honest' steroids as it also has few or mild sides.
      when he went to a cocktail of stanozolol and anapolan that was a huge mistake. rumour was he also aqueous test. Anapolan/Anadrol is really easy to detect, even in the 80s. If you take it within 4 weeks of an event it'll show traces. Ben apparently took it on the day, and had been for a while. That stuff makes you a gorilla.
      Back in the late 50s and 60s dbol was estimated to take 0.3-0.5s off of your 100m time. that was dbol on its own, and anapolan makes dbol look like a protein drink. Give Usain a year of dbol or adrol with some stanazolol and he'd running a 9.1.
      Similarly if you give the entire 100m field the drugs they had in the 60s and 70s, and the time for a 100m medallist would be a 9.5.

      Carl Lewis was on steroids too, he should have never been given Johnson's medal. USADA are an army of hypocrites, allowing a man who failed 3 drug tests to compete.

      @Twilight living lewis was tested positive at us trials but USA decided to cover it up, Christie never admitted to anything of the such, he was found initially positive at the Olympics but was proven to be something not classed as a banned substance so reinstated straight away. 2 yrs after Christie retired in 99 he ran a charity bet race with some mates and was found to be part of that dodgy scam where lots of athletes were suddenly bein found guilty of drugs yet it wasnt very clear cut so most were let off (well the Americans were) where as the UK much stricter and never liked him anyway so threw him under the bus even tho he was retired and never actually competing anyway 🤷‍♂️

      @William Diemhert, Ben Johnson just got caught in a sea of fish, Years later: Hulk hogan (WWE) Barry Bonds & Jose Canseco(Baseball) all those stars where caught doing steroids and many more and those, who you haven't heard about, they just covered it well. Roid or not Ben Johnson was just a sacrifice at that time and ran among other cheats too, who just didn't get caught!
