I always knew Kenneth Branagh was a great actor, but his performance in TENET was without a doubt he most treacherous and impressive performance I've seen. He was really intimidating.

I was an extra on a period drama. Two days before the production asked for a video clip of me saying two lines in a page of script they sent. I got the call telling me to show up Monday morning. On set I was sat in the bus until 4pm with one other extra that I found out was there for the same part as me. No communication all day except for us to put on our costumes. 4pm we were asked into the holding area of a statley home. A runner then said to me to go on to set in the kitchen. The director and one of the headlining cast greeted me and asked if I had read the script. Then! Someone pointed to my starting position and as I walked over action was shouted and we blocked the scene twice. The director and writers then discussed something in the corner. I realised it was me they were discussing and heard them say I should say something else. Not one of them looked at me and acknowledged me. My heart was pounding as it was the first time for me speaking on a professional set. I put the line in at the next two attempts. I heard someone say "why is he whispering?". One of the sound techs shouted "because it says it in the script". That eased my anger of from the treatment I got a little. The other extra had a turn and I quickly informed him of the new line. He thanked me and patted me on the back for handling the lions den well. I was angry at the attitudes of the producers and director towards the people on the same team. A sound tech asked me where the extra line was and I told him what happened. He was miffed that nobody communicated with him over various things. In short Christopher Nolans attitude towards actors doing there thing is very thoughtful for a person of his calibre on set. Thanks for reading whoever does ha ha!
I can't imagine directors that don't look at 'dailies' anymore. Fantastic interview! Tenet really inspired me in terms of practical filmmaking techniques. Seeing yourself on reversed film after acting a scene in reverse is so much fun!
It’s great to finally see an interview where Nolan is talking about sator. That character is the very physical manifestation in my opinion to everyone who says tenet has a very hollow character description. I really found the character to be bone chilling in specific scenes especially where he is conversating with kat. Really the best originally written villain by Nolan, without a doubt Ken plays it brilliantly.
I absolutely loved the spectacle of Tenet... But being honest.....I didn’t understand a thing lol! But then again, one of the best things about Nolan’s films is that they actually get better and better with each viewing. And you really notice so many details and things he did that you did not notice the first time around, This is a very rare quality that his films have that many other filmmakers do not. So, perhaps when I watch it again - I’ll actually UNDERSTAND what I’m enjoying so much!
After seeing Tenet twice the weeks following its UK release (first time IMAX, second visit standard commercial cinematic digital projection) I have looked forward to an otherwise new release free Christmas hoping Tenet would become available on home video. So, after buying myself a copy the day its was released (the standard 1080p BD as I do not have a UHD setup as yet, my home theatre still squeezing the final life out of 3D) as a Christmas pressie for myself, I saved it for the big day. Like an 8 year old I woke at approx. 01.00 am GMT and unable to get back to sleep, I had the house shaking to Ludwig Göransson's abot 40 mins later. After faling back asleep about 6am I was back up for lunchtime and now in my parents company I did not hesitate to put it back on for my father who had been looking forward to seeing it for the first time. After a 3rd run through this morning (my 5th viewing overall) I am able to give it a break for the rest of the holiday but it has just gotten better every time and if not for the film I would have had little to enjoy this Christmas. Happy ChrisNolanmass everyone!
When an actor can play a bad dude and then you see them not acting, and they're not a bad dude, it's always very fascinating and entertaining unto itself. Kudos to CN and KB for putting such a scary person on the screen for us to witness!

Hi im big fan of Nolan's movie Not sure whether you will read this or not. Not sure whether I'm correct or not. Correct me if I'm wrong. Tenet : after John David and dimples meet at @1.50 timelapse in the movie where Pattinson debicki and washiton have became normal at this scene by the turnstile at the airport ,you show as they all three as inverted where John does the pull-ups and they three discuss about when and where sator going to trigger the algorithm. After this discussion only they get to know when and where and they can use turnstile of Ives and go back to the 14th. But you placed that the discussion of three about sator itself as they inverted. Where in that time they don't have turnstile at point of time. And there is no point in inverting themselves before knowing when and where sator going to detonates the algorithm. It's all makes sense after the discussion they used Ives turnstile to go back at 14th

I wish since Nolan is coming to India often, we should arrange a workshop with Nolan as teacher for bollywood directors, actors, composers, sort of convincing them that don't have basic talent to make film or act and these so called smart-ass celebrities would say goodbye to film making and regional Indian cinema would produce more quality films..

Im a Nolan fan, Tener is fun, in every Nolan movie he sets the rules and with that rules the movie make sense but Tenet has huge rule problems, is not the physics mechanics, it´s the rules that are set and then broken again and again in a way that it doesn´t feel like a nolan movie.

I.E. when sator audi breaks the bmw mirror the effect goes back in time but when the protagonist gets stabbed in the arm he starts bleeding before he gets stabbed. Also when he gets inverted for the first time there is a puddle water effect before he steps on it, from his perspective he would step in the puddle and then see the effect. Also time travel in a deterministic world is probably impossible and if what happened happened then nothing of what happened can be changed and many actions of the characters make no sense. Also some story inconsistencies, like why would Kat cut the rope of sator when they were sailing if she knew that he had pancreatic cancer and would die in months, why risk killing him?

When TP says 'Doesn't us being here now mean it never happened', Neil replies about Multiple realities and consciousness, so the reality is just playing out until they reach the end, it doesn't give them an excuse to do nothing. 3. Kat tried to kill Sator because the painting is still with Sator, the painting is his hold over her and yes he has inoperable pancreatic cancer but he didn't look like he was in a dying stage and this scene is also important to show that Sator is willing to take his life further leading to the explosion in Stalsk 12. After reading your first point about TP bleeding before the stab, made me understand that you didn't understand the inversion concept completely and that's okay, but without understanding the core concept of this film, you're out here to argue the concept of it.
@@proto8219 I understand the concept of inversion, we see different effects going forward in time and backwards, if you are inverted you step in water and then you see the efect not like in the movie, that is what happens with the mirror, you have the same thing having different effects, like with the blood, if that is the same as in the mirror, the protagonist should get stabed and then bleed because he is inverted but he bleeds forward in time. The same with bullets, is a problem that is been brought up by many, not to mention many paradoxes. For example the first time around the sabb shouldnt crash because TP still havent get into the car, so the algorithm is stuck in a paradox. And I can keep going, there is no way Neil can get out of stalk because the tunnel is shut by the explosion, and, and...
When do people and actors specifically start to use “one” as their impersonal pronoun of choice?? It seems to be a personal choice that is superseded by a level of normalcy and maybe that’s why it sounds so pretentious.
Totally agree. The sound mixing was dreadful. The performances were bland apart from Robert Pattinson. And the story was so barebones that Nolan couldn’t even be bothered to name his lead character. Even the plane crash was undramatic with pace being the problem. It all felt like a self indulgent mess. This is what happens when you surround yourself with too many yes men. Stanley Kubrick you are not.

Kat tried to kill Sator because the painting is still with Sator, the painting is his hold over her and yes he has inoperable pancreatic cancer but he didn't look like he was in a dying stage and this scene is also important to show that Sator is willing to take his life further leading to the explosion in Stalsk 12.

@@proto8219 I understand the concept of inversion, we see different effects going forward in time and backwards, if you are inverted you step in water and then you see the efect not like in the movie, that is what happens with the mirror, you have the same thing having different effects, like with the blood, if that is the same as in the mirror, the protagonist should get stabed and then bleed because he is inverted but he bleeds forward in time. The same with bullets, is a problem that is been brought up by many, not to mention many paradoxes. For example the first time around the sabb shouldnt crash because TP still havent get into the car, so the algorithm is stuck in a paradox. Totally agree. The sound mixing was dreadful. The performances were bland apart from Robert Pattinson.
And the story was so barebones that Nolan couldn’t even be bothered to name his lead character.
Even the plane crash was undramatic with pace being the problem. It all felt like a self indulgent mess.
This is what happens when you surround yourself with too many yes men.
