Nolan is the physical embodiment of class. Such a humble and brilliant individual.
You gotta love the guy he’s seems so genuine in addition to being a genius director.
Nolan is the kinda of guy u know won't get busted for some Hollywood sex scandal. Very real guy
Brad Melvin I hope it stays that way.... Losing trust in most people I used to look up to
I could have said the same thing about Kevin Spacey a month ago.
no mate if you knew a little about the industry, there had been rumours and stories circulating about him for years.
Nolan is too autistic to be a rapist.
Same thing with Martin Sorceresses. Have you seen these man talking about something that's not movies? Thats literally their only passion
Jay Jiminez true. But I think you mean artistic, not autistic.
"That's a film that, like so many of you here, I took such great pleasure in pretending to have seen."
Probably the first and only time I've seen Christopher Nolan joke haha
you have been missing out, he is throwing joke after joke lately in interviews and panels
When an interviewer asked him if the audience would be able to get the triptych structure of Dunkirk and what he thought about it, replied, "Well... it's like... fuck it, you know."
No! The first time I've actually seen him smile.
Jim Cameron Racist
Why so serious?
Branagh to Nolan : You chose the right profession
"But seriously folks"
Nolan said everything and anything about Branagh. A fair tribute. The giants understand each other
Nolan is the GOAT
Not only will I present an award for Branagh, I'll also cast him in my next movie. That's how much I appreciate him.
I think this look he must hav kept in Tenet. Kenneth looks badass
Nolan is currently the greatest director of our generation
No
Absolutely not, but he is pretty good.
Who else can take that throne from him? Our generation meaning the last fifteen yrs or so.
The Dark Knight Trilogy, Inception, Dunkirk, Interstellar, Tenet, etc. Billions of Dollars in box office revenue and Lots of Awards and recognition. Maybe Quentin Tarantino if you includes 90’s but I can’t think of a more distinguished director in last fifteen yrs.
@@pablojpadilla9460 The Dark Knight Trilogy, Inception, and Dunkirk are great even though to be fair Batman Begins and Rises are for the most part quite generic with only a handful of great scenes here and there. The Dark Knight is a masterpiece, of that there is no doubt.
Unfortunately, however, Interstellar has one of the dumbest plots ever and Tenet is utterly incomprehensible.
Dennis Villeneuve is much better at storytelling, twists, and building tension he did Incendies, Prisoners, Sicario, Arrival, Blade Runner 2049 one after the other.
Martin Scorsese is far more skilled too, he made The Departed, Shutter Island, Wolf of Wall Street, and Silence
Bong Joon Ho is probably better than all of them - he did Mother, Snowpiercer, Okja, and Parasite.
David Fincher is also clearly much better - Social Network, Gone Girl, and Zodiac don't have crazy sci-fi elements in them but are much more impactful as films.
There are also numerous other foreign filmmakers with many great and much better films than those in Nolan's filmography who have created masterpieces in the last dozen years or so like Zvyagintsev but if you seriously consider Nolan the best, I am pretty sure you don't know who these foreign filmmakers are (or maybe you do know them, Idk).
Either way, I don't agree. He is a good maker of blockbusters that have brains but he relies far too much on intricate plots, he mistakes complexity for incomprehensiveness and no one is more terrible at dumping out exposition than he is.
@@pablojpadilla9460 David Fincher, Wes Anderson, Paul Thomas Anderson, Coen Brothers, Allexandeo Gonsales Innaritu, Denis Villeneuve
Him and Gary Oldman are the best of my generation
I'm clutching at straws here but if Nolan directed a Shakespeare adaptation at some point in his career (ideally directing Pacino or Branagh as King Lear) I think I'd die and go to nerd heaven. Might also get him that elusive Oscar.
Ronan Hatfull would be incredible
Best idea yet
Awesome speech, awesome Nolan! :)
Dead Again (1991) is one my favorite films.
A Brilliant Romantic Thriller!
That's the funniest I've ever scene Christopher Nolan produce. Aside from the joker of course.
Awesome Nolan! So nice to see Branagh even in Tenet now :)
And again in Oppenheimer!
What a lovely speech
I love to see how those talents truly appreciate each other craft and how humble they can be about it.
Chris nolan is a class act
To be put along side Orson Welles by ones peer.
It must be surreal.
He brings humanity to his work and we get to
inherit the outcome.
Wonderful speech. I love and have seen Hamlet many times though! Nolan communicates what I love about Branagh so much.
THE FIRST TIME I see Nolan making a joke ahahah
Lovely to see a great director giving a speech for another great director/actor.
My favorite actor and my adopted dad. I can’t wait to see tent
Tent was awesome. Nolan's masterpiece
@@nms7872 yep
Branagh looks like he is trying to find the hidden insult in that speech.
he's right up there with James Cameron, Steven Spielberg, Stanley Kubrick on the sacred columns of sci-fi filmmaking
I could listening Mr Nolan all day ❤
Haha and thats where TENET came about. Nobody else can play Andrei Sator better than Mr Branagh himself.
Excellence does not need to demand respect or admiration. All three are in a package deal.
He mentioned the reasons why i ❤ Kenneth!
Awesome Kenneth Branagh!
Brannagh is one of the greatest but perhaps most forgotten directors in the line of great names like Nolan, Spielberg, Jackson and Scorsese. But Nolan knows.
And indeed: Brannagh knows how to tell a story, knows which story needs what. Look at Thor: You would not expect him to direct it. But he did. He brought in his Shakespeare knowledge and combined that with the superhero genre. Perhaps that is why the character Loki (beside a great performence) was so great.
But not only Thor. Look at Cinderella. He knew: This is a German-ish fairy tale, we don't do it high and fancy.
And look at Piorot: He dared to break with the common way of how we see the character and the mystery's, but still showed us style of that period. With some gentle nods to, as an example, the last supper. The critics he got were taken with him and his crew so each new Piorot movie got better.
Yes, Brannagh knows how to tell a story. Definitly.
Love you Nolan! 🥰❤️
It would be wonderful to have a film about Charlemagne or Richard the Lionheart directed by Mr. Branagh.
Branagh’s Napoleon, that would have been a thing worth seeing.
Awesome director and i believe a good man!
Nolan is a goddamn genius
There are few genius directors, Chris Nolan is up there with Ken Branagh and Wes Anderson...and more I could name.... It is well past time he is asked to direct a Bind movie!!! WOULDNT THAT be something!!
Man....Talulah Riley is hot! 1:11
I am from 2020. I came here using a technology called Time Inversion. (Not your usual time travel kiddo). Nolan's next movie is a mind boggling science fiction- spy thriller called Tenet. Kenneth Branagh is playing the protagonist in the movie.
I came here to tell an important message. Somebody please pass on these words to him:
"NI EHT XAMILC TAK NI EHT HCTAY HTIW UOY SI DESREVNI ENO . EHS SI GNIOG OT LLIK OUY."
You won't understand this. No problem. He will understand and decode it. Like in Interstellar this one message can save the entire human race. Please pass on to him. Using this info he can save our world. Please don't ignore my words.
IGN watermark?
Oh yeah what's up with that lmao
Dunkirk 110% and tenet 100%
What a nice tribute 😁 It must be so uncomfortable having a camera continuously on you while someone is saying nice things about you!
Tenet
Who the hell was moving spoons and plates during the speech?!?? When Christopher Nolan speaks, you stop eating for god's sake.
Dark knight scene
Did bafta rip an ign video?

He’s a terrific actor, not a fan of his directorial work. The Poirot films are awful
" But seriously folks"
