I am 70 and have never been diagnosed as Aspie, but Tony Attwood describes me to a ´T’! I have also learned from Dr Gabor Maté, that my coping mechanisms if ADHD, workaholism, etc., where likely caused by childhood stress (many factors).
With all of this information, I have been able to be much kinder to and to accept myself much more easily, although life has always been a challenge!
    Thanks, Tony!

For everyone having trouble with the background noise, you can turn on the cc and turn the volume all the way down. :) It helped me.

As an Aspie, Dr. Attwood is a treasure. His understanding of our experience is incredible and I am beyond grateful for it.
To the channel, I hope you fired the producer after this. From the setup of meeting in a restaurant, to not addressing the background noise, this was terribly produced. Hopefully, future productions are better. 👍

Not the right setting for an interview to be viewed by Aspies. I minute in and the background is killing it for me.

Dr Attwood is amazing! This background noises are unbelievable disturbing for an autistic person. The music, the cutlery, people talking…. PLEASE start to think about making videos about autism for autistics as well.

The background noises in this public setting are probably not ideal for a video on autism. The noise is so distracting that it’s extremely difficult to properly hear the conversation.

@@vendelaolsson7689 he's saying that the purpose of the information is not necessarily for the benefit of the person reading it, but more so on how much can the entity providing it get out of it. In other words: it's not coming from a place of genuine consideration.

I agree. Last night I unsubbed from his channel as he is not being mindful of his listeners, but seems to be here for financial gain. Intentions don't seem aligned with what he says his purpose is.

Very good interview with lots of thoughtful questions . I turned on the subtitles and it was helpful, if sometimes garbled.

i watch aspie world because he reminds me of me when it comes to productivity, his pacing is erp to me since i have ocd but initially and my main reason of watching him is to give me insights about autism because of my crush.

I'm very, very interested in this subject. I'm also wondering why I feel like I'm simultaneously in a rain storm hypnosis session, and the local food court/trolley corral at the local mall. . Why is this a thing? :/

Why would this guy choose to record this video in a public place with so much distracting noisy background? Its distracting for people with autism to watch this. Such a lack of awareness for the viewers.

L V not even a minute listening and I cannot concentrate because all the noise of music, people talking, dishes, etc.
I’m a big fan of Tony Atwood, but the interview in this environment it is very distracting, almost impossible to keep listening.

    • @guyshahar

HI LV and Socorro. I was the guy who did the interview. We had a disaster on the day with both the venue (we had been led to believe that there would be an enclosed space) and the microphones (they didn't work properly and we didn't realise until we came to listen back). There was nothing we could do about it and no way to re-do the interview (Tony was back in Australia by then). Sadly this is all we have. I am very sorry that it has made it impossible for many to listen to.

    • @ErikaMorSar
      @ErikaMorSar 4 года назад +9

Guy Shahar yes, sorry, I understand that the conditions for an interview are not always optimal. The intention was super positive, for that reason, I thank you... but I’m too autistic to not feel distracted by this kind of noises.
So, my comment it was not about you... it’s about how this situation can make almost impossible to keep trying to pay attention to the interview.
Thanks for your answer and for the effort.
