This was a well executed review - I feel genuinely informed about whether to play it or not.
No, I think if their goal is to present truncated reviews to aid specifically in helping people determine whether a game would be likely to be enjoyable to a given member of their audience, this video is a better example of the series so far. I want to encourage that behavior. Short reviews are usually declarative assessments or extremely personal to the reviewer, and occasionally 3MR dips into that space, but I think they did a good job here maintaining, if not neutrality, objectivity, while giving enough data points to aid prospective players in deciding if it would be their kind of thing.
This and Spiderman Miles Morales have taken up most of my time on the PS5. Such a fantastic game! Traversal is just brilliant and, although I am not a huge puzzle game guy, I love the puzzles in this game
How'd you get a functioning PS5? They're as priceless as the Mona Lisa these days.
@@monsterhunter66 great timing and a devil's luck
you can pet the eagle, 11/10
This looks like an amazing Sonic game. I hope SEGA will weak up one day and realize how well open spaces work with fast movement.
Seriously. They could also learn a lot from racing games like Redout. The way they use sound and visuals to convey the sense of mind-melting speed is amazing. Speedlines, the screen warps (if you boost it does so really heavily too), the distance from camera to ship changes depending on your acceleration, the ship shakes and jitters violently due to wind resistance, the wind blasting past you is clearly audible, the visual style is very clean so whatever your eyes focuses on for even a splitsecond, you can see it zipping past you, overall sound warps and gets muffled if you suddenly accelerate. That's what it should feel like in a 3D Sonic game too. Imagine running wild in a vast world like this and then looking behind you just to see a trail of scorched grass and a dustcloud following the path you ran.
Yeah about that…
Wow golden comment
Yer killin me smalls. How you not gonna mention you can pet the bird?
@@LyaksandraB I have a feeling your overall media consumption is what has screwed "your" pacing to hell, so outside of the smartphone feedback loop you may not be the strongest candidate to discuss the issue of pacing in a game experience.
You have also obviously never made friends with a dinosaur, and that's sad. Did you know they love flowers and will eagerly hit the bong?
(all birds are dinosaurs, forwardSlash winkEmoji)
why tell when you can show?? ruclips.net/video/PqBXYi3_GOg/видео.html
You really think the ultimate story is unambiguous and not compelling? 🤦♂️
The timing based autolock seems real neat.
"skilled player's can do it when it's half full"
Speed runners: allow me to introduce myself
Wow - the visuals on those red tinted boss fights are very striking!
Will only buy once its goes on sale
Thank you for showing me this game. It's what different from the games I usually attract to.
It gives me mario vibes tho..but with a bow and arrow.
I would have mentioned this game is not coming to steam and PC players will have to go through Epic. That is important for some of us.
That looks actually stunning
definitely will try this one out, thank you.
The games looks really charming
This feels more like an overview than a review
RIP, it's not on the Switch...yet. Definitely worth a try(but maybe not for 39.99). And it's an Indie game. Thanks for the well-reviewed summary of the game, Escapist!
Reminds me of kena bridge of spirits which is also an amazing game!
The story looks like it definitely followed the BOTW formula, but the gameplay looks really fun and unique so I'll definitely consider picking it up sometime.
its definitely a mix of BOTW and Journey from what it seems
BOTW did not invent the trope of "kill the mid bosses before you can kill the end boss" or "you can stuff in any order" you know,
@@PowerZordan It's kind of funny you say that because it could be argued that BOTW's design is heavily informed by the first Zelda game for the NES, which did sort of invent the trope.
@@luigimaster111 Is taking notes from a 30 years old game is called "following the BOTW formula" ?
We stopped using the term "Doom-like" because we realized how stupid it was, let's not do that with BOTW for no reason please
@@PowerZordan nonono, I'm not saying anything like that, I'm just saying you're phrase had a not unnoticed amount of irony behind it. While saying this game is a BOTW or even a Zelda clone is perhaps a bit unreasonable, it's also silly to suggest that this game was not highly influenced by Zelda considering that the series practically laid the groundwork for this gameplay formula decades ago.
This feels like a 20 dollar game, so I will wait a bit but it does look good.
Or maybe a $30, but at $39.99, its a bit out of my price range for a game I'm not positive I'll enjoy
I was legit happier spending 53$ on this than 20 on FC5
Just got this for $20 AUD, really worth it. Loved it.
@@dustinakadustin can you only focus on doing the main objective without bothering to collect things to power up ur ability??? Does the game get difficult if you dont power ur eagle up???
@@videogame3390 maybe slightly cause it's good for traversal but not a lot harder I imagine
These botw clones do a lot of experimentation, but this is the one that has my fav art direction. :D
BOTW clone ? Without any crafting, item, etc etc etc ?
This is far from being a botw clone... Its shares some strong story beats and that's about it. Unless having completely different graphics, mechanics, and puzzles counts as a clone now. 😝
It's nothing like BOTW. Like at all.
ever since I first heard about this game I have been excited for it and hoped it would review well I'm glad it lived up to my expectations games like this is what video games should aspire to be no triple A game would ever turn out like this which is what makes me not want to play any of them anymore games are art and this feels like art where as a triple A game with it's photo realism just feels like playing a video feed with bad mechanics
You don’t like realistic looking games…
Have you ever heard of Nintendo?
That's just the BOTW plot
What kind of language does the Hunter speak
It almost sounds like Na’vi
They butchered the snow post game, it goes from white to Yellow/gray.
They added a patch where you can change the color filter by interacting with any sun in any tower
@@eriklarson9875 I know, it's an amazing feature. My only nitpick is that once you do that, and the snow area is all clear, the snow is noticably yellow. I wonder if it's a lighting bug or if it's intentional.
@@BublySofaPotato I have not noticed this (PS4), but I played thoroughly and did it in one shot.
I like it.
I thought in the developer presentation they said you play a girl?
You do? In the review, he said you play as a girl. And the protagonist is girl--you can tell by her eyes and figure
