Says 1300ml and 400ml on mine. Though it says when you dont change the oil filter, you can poor in 1200 ml, not 1300. Very nice video, going to implement the tipping of the bike backwards, taking the screws out that way, and not be under the bike screwing. Thanks again!
To actually see the correct oil level on the dipstick it needs to be screwed in. But to save time I usually just stick it in until it hits the threads and assume that if it was screwed in the oil line on the dipstick would be a little higher than what it is showing.
If its a stock motor I would run it until the oil is black maybe every 15-20 hours. If you don't ride much I would still change it at least once per year though.
I am pretty sure that if your dipstick is showing the correct amount of oil then your crank would also have the correct amount. Run the machine for a few minutes, turn it off, then let it sit a few more minutes. That should ensure you have oil everywhere it needs to be, then recheck the oil with the dipstick.
Mine has had a slight gas smell to it before but I think it was just from the oil lubricating the cylinder where the oil could pick up some carbon with trace amounts of fuel.
Skimp110 ok thank you I let my brother barrow it for the day and apparently he didn’t run it before putting oil in and I think he put to much and I think he blew a gasket or something or the seal but I appreciate it
because when u dont drive it the oil sinks to the bottom of the engine. When you have the engine on, the oil moves around inside the engine. Thats why the stick gets soaked when running, and only half when turned off for a few mins.
This is not how you change the oil. You are pulling the case bolts instead of the oil drain plug which is the plug with the Allen head on the bottom of the case. Otherwise, it's a good video.
I followed your instructions everything turned out perfect. Thank you
Would amsoil 5-50 work, it doesn’t say wet clutch specific but I think all amsoil supports it.
Hey man good video. I did what u said and it's not showing on the dip stick....im lost

Right👌
How many hours you change the oil? for not race use
Hey does the oil stay in the church side cover. On my own if I pour it in the clutch side the oil reservoir level goes up. I don’t get it
The oil inside the clutch side cover should all drain out through the drain plug/s on the bottom of the engine.
Do you screw the dipstick all the way in when checking the oil or do you just stick it down till it hits the threads??
To actually see the correct oil level on the dipstick it needs to be screwed in.

Hey, Nice video
Where did you buy your black plastick kit?
Sondre Sjovik 2008 had an all black special edition 450 but i got the graphics kit from "one industries"
From white people !
When do you change the oil like after how many hours or rides I'm mainly gonna trail ride mine
If its a stock motor I would run it until the oil is black maybe every 15-20 hours. If you don't ride much I would still change it at least once per year though.
Change oil and spark plug every 10 hours .
So how would you check to see if the crank case still has 400 ml over period of time of riding it?
I am pretty sure that if your dipstick is showing the correct amount of oil then your crank would also have the correct amount. Run the machine for a few minutes, turn it off, then let it sit a few more minutes. That should ensure you have oil everywhere it needs to be, then recheck the oil with the dipstick.
Where did you get the headlight from? It looks sick. Thnx in advance
I just checked my oil dipstick today and the oil is overflowed out the filler hole :/ ! Any suggestions????
I have the same... Just drain the oil of an there was 2l oil.... Wtf..
nicee.... but where did u buy that all black six pack rack?
2008 had a limited edition that came all black from the factory.
very good explanation many thanks
Do you have a video on how to time the Kickstarter ?
No
Add engine oil 400ml fill in clutch?
Yes. 400ml at the clutch and 1200ml in the other spot.
Thank you … now I know 😇
thanks man good video
What did u use to seal up the headlight plug when u took it out
Cant remember. Maybe electrical tape.
Skimp110 ok thanks I would show a photo but can’t
So you use the same oil for the trans and engine?
Yes
Doesn’t affect the trans side for using same oil ? Or it’s supposed to run the same oil ?
So the right side is the trans oil ?
cool, thanks for the help
Still have yours?
No
hey whats a good oil to use on the ltr450?
I have had the best luck with Maxima Racing Oils. I use the Maxima premium 4 petroleum 20w50.
When is it time to change coolant.
When it gets hot very easy and takes a long tike to cool it i change mine every summer
How often do you change your oil?
When racing it i like to change oil every other race weekend but if you don't race you could probably go 8-16 engine hours.
@@Skimp110 thank you
Hi du you know how to titen the cheing a sizuki ltr 450 2006
edras Ipina the rear bearing carrier can rotate to tighten the chain.
do you still answer questions?
I can try
What does it mean it my oil may have gas in it or smells like gas
Mine has had a slight gas smell to it before but I think it was just from the oil lubricating the cylinder where the oil could pick up some carbon with trace amounts of fuel.
Also if you actually have gas in the oil your piston rings could be shot.
Skimp110 ok thank you I let my brother barrow it for the day and apparently he didn’t run it before putting oil in and I think he put to much and I think he blew a gasket or something or the seal but I appreciate it
Skimp110 would it still run it the piston rings blew?
It would most likely still run but you would notice pressure/steam/oil coming out of the oil breather hose.
What type of oil and weight?
I like to use 10w40 Petroleum
What’s a good oil to run in summer for ltr
@@mauriciolopez9046 10w40 or 20w50 should be fine
If you use 10 40 your clutch will work the best
hey, why when it's cold the oil looks half way of the stick but when it runs for a lil bit it look full
not sure
because when u dont drive it the oil sinks to the bottom of the engine. When you have the engine on, the oil moves around inside the engine. Thats why the stick gets soaked when running, and only half when turned off for a few mins.

Chris Mullen SORRY BUT YOUR WRONG! These are the correct bolts not the Allen head ones. Check your manual.
What type of oil and wait can use in a ltr450r can I use car oil. Or just. ATV oil
Thats what I thought why is he taking out crankcase bolts instead of Allen head drain bolts 🤔
What do the Allen head bolts go to then ?
