I'm glad I came across this video! I'm placing the order for this today and I can leave an update once I've gotten to use it for those of you still finding this video and wondering about the seat cushion.
You sir are a saint. Just ordered and received this cushion per your recommendation and my secretlab Titan is now the chair I always dreamed it would be. Thank you!!
i think the secretlab chair might be the best gaming chair, but at the end of the day its still a gaming chair and still a massive scam its too late for me and probably you, but to anyone in the future, please don buy a gaming chair. spend the money on a well reviewed trusted name brand office chair. this is miserable
majority of even expensive office chairs bottom out and too plush of a seat doesnt provide support. support isn't always the most comfortable. slouching for example. that being said if your muscles are underdeveloped or your body type makes it too uncomfortable just get a cushion and dont complain.
THANK YOU. I've had a love-hate relationship with this chair for 2 years now. While redecorating my gaming den, I considered getting a new chair. Instead, I found your video. Decided to try out a car seat cushion (the same one was not available in my region, but I still found one that matched up in dimensions), and this is a world of difference. So thank you, good man.
I'm so happy I found this! I was not able to adapt to the seat cushion of my chair and lost all hope. But luckily I saw your video here and decided to try the seat cushion you recommended. Got it yesterday and now my tailbone thanks you!
Oh dang, I never even thought out that. I find my Secretlab chair to be pretty comfy, but I was using a Cushionlab car seat cushion for my old seat, and I just put it on the titan, feels like a game changer.
I bought a Titan last year. I game a lot and also went back to school, so sitting in the chair for hours at a time was not uncommon for me. I started having literal crippling back pain where even sitting down on a toilet was excruciating. Finally figured out it was the chair. I've been sitting on a pillow and it's helped, but I'm going to try this cushion out as well while using the head pillow as lumbar support
Ive been gaming in kitchen chairs all my life yet i never experienced any back, neck or muscle pain. Im typing this right now from a kitchen chair as well. Was looking to buy a Titan chair but everyone keeps complaining thats its extremely firm, surely it cant be worse than a kitchen chair with a tiny cushion that im using right now?
@@slash1one I genuinely had to go to physical therapy from the back pain twice a week. I wish I would have figured it out sooner. Luckily, I took a Purple cushion from my dads hip surgery and it has helped.
I bought the Kingphenix seat cushion... holy cow within seconds of sitting on it in the SecretLab chair I can tell a major improvement in my comfort. I'll see how it goes over the next few months... but thank you very much for this recommendation!!!
I have been using a thick folded up blanket as a cushion for my Titan and it has helped a lot with the pain and makes sitting in this chair bearable. I have tried many cushions including the purple royal and everlasting comfort ones and they did not help. I just ordered this cushion to hopefully replace my blanket, thanks for sharing this idea I’m hoping it works out! EDIT: It has been 3 months now and I’m still using this cushion. The cushion has turned this chair around from being intolerable to actually somewhat comfortable. I’m able to sit in the chair for hours without any pain or discomfort. It’s crazy how a tiny little layer of foam can make such a difference
Did you have any problem with lumbar pain? For me the seat itself is ok but the lumbar support kills me. I work as a software dev so i end up sitting for around 10h/day and it is killing me after 1 month
@@alejandrovinan5253 no issues with lumbar pain. I don’t use the adjustable support though because it hits my back in the wrong spot and that would cause discomfort
Thanks for the recommend. I’ve been using mine for about 7-8 months and am one of those people who just can’t adjust to the seat. Yes, it’s improved my posture and yes the back and lumbar support is great, but the seat is like going outside and sitting on my concrete steps. I’ve been using a Purple seat cushion I bought at a truck stop when I drove cross country and it works… until it doesn’t. Same issue I had in the car: After a few hours the Purple grid just loses all support. I’ll have to give this a try. I want to love this chair but the seat isn’t doing it any favors. Edit: I just saw a recent comment below that also said it feels like concrete so I guess I’m not alone. To me, it legitimately does feel the exact same as if I went out and sat on my top step.
I feel you brother. Oddly, the seat FIRMNESS is "BY DESIGN" - and that in itself is not for everyone. I had to find a solution, a INEXPENSIVE solution. This is what I found, and "FOR ME" - it made a world of difference!
Thank you! I just got my Titan evo a week ago, it’s honestly been super comfortable so far, but I snagged the seat cushion just incase, and wow what a difference. I don’t mind the firmness of the chair itself, but it might be because I’m only 120 pounds. It’s probably a different story for heavier people. I can enjoy the chair with or without the cushion, but I might keep it on for a while lol
It's not just the 2022 chair, the 2021 is just as hard. There's no getting used to it, it's crazy that the"perfect" chair is actually extremely uncomfortable. I guess if you weigh 120 pounds it doesn't matter
Got to remember.. The chair is designed to be like that. And if you give your body a chance to adjust, it's a great chair. But not everyone's body will adjust to it. It's not going to be the perfect chair for everyone.
I bought the Secretlab chair because of your first review. Yes, I at first thought the seat was too firm but honestly really like it now. Think it may have broke in a little.
I'm glad you found my original video of use to ya, and that your bum has come to terms with it's new seat. It's easy to see how 'some people' may find it a little too firm, and unable to adjust or get used to it. I fully can see that. At least there is a great low-cost solution to the problem that some might experience - that doesn't include having to return the chair.
thanks, ordered. now we just need a fix for the overly protruding side bolsters that prevents you from resting your arms by your sides. I have the XL chair but i dont mind if the cushion is a bit short for the seat. The seat tilts downward (backwards) anyway so that might be a good thing
Thanks a mil for this tip. Just ordered it. I was really feeling the density of the seat, telecommuting for 8 hours a day and then 2 more hours of working on a businss at night. It's going to officially make this chair my true dream chair, it's already awesome as it is.
How much height does the cushion add? The older Secretlabs chairs did not have the ability to adjust the elevation of the lumbar support. If the cushion is too thick, you end up having the lumpar support too low on your back.
Like most people, just got used to the firmer seat. Is the cushion doing well a year later? Does it slide around with just the straps going to the back?
The cushion is doing GREAT a year later! I had to replace it once, because my kitty thought it was comfortable also, and tore it up... (No, it's not kitty proof!) But the a couple squirts from the water bottle, and she now lays on the new one without tearing it up in her comfort excitement. The straps keep it in place very well, and I stand by my decision that for this particular chair, this is a great cushion solution!
had my chair for about 1.5 weeks, doesnt hurt me but where the seam is under where your thighs sit, it feels like some sort of metal rod running the length of the seam which is causing some discomfort, ive seen articles of people say you will get used to it and that it does soften overtime. i really dont want to return the chair but if it doesnt break in as it should, i think ill get this cushion. i see secret labs is coming out with their own cushion but its estimated to release Dec 30th and i really dont wanna have to wait that long if the discomfort doesnt go away with the chair breaking in. think ill resort to the cushion in your video if need be
Ordered and trying tomorrow. I've had this chair for 2 years and even got the softweave cover, I love the chair, the backrest, and headrest but I have always found the seat a little lack luster. I work from home and game after work so I'm in this chair almost all day. I've adjusted and it's not too bad but I do enjoy those soft office chairs, the only reason I didn't get one is because they wear out in a year and you have to get a new one or deal with no cushion at all. I'll update tomorrow and see if this turns my chair into the perfect seat. Update: it is more cushion-y but honestly, kinda the same. Not bad for how cheap it is.
I also have adapted to the seat however if this cushion would essentially add some extra comfort and also increase the lifespan of the foam below due to more spread pressure and less direct pressure I would definitely order it. My question is, did you decide to keep it on your seat kong term and would you consider it still worthwhile for someone who like you did not mind the firmness although a more cushy feel would have been nice?
I like having the additional cushion, so I use it all the time. Not just for my butt, but to protect the chair itself from my cats (who seem to like the chair even more than I do!). Cats destroyed one cushion, and i immediately replaced it with another. It's one of those items that once tried - i can't NOT HAVE.
Thanks, just ordered this off US Amazon because for whatever reason it was $20 cheaper getting it that way than directly from Amazon Australia. I hope its good as I just spent over $70 AUD on it. We don't get coupons or free shipping over here. No siree, I think they charge for every mile as they row it across the Pacific.
@@Extermicide Thought I would post back and say the chair pad fits great and its definitely made the chair more comfy. My husband liked the chair as is, so he went and bought one for himself too! I rather like our money, best in the world, and that's no joke, we invented the polymer bank note. It's the shipping costs, no way around those.
Perfect tip thanks ! I want to get rollerblade wheels too but I am afraid they will roll too freerly. Also - Are you finding the backrest lumbar part a but weird fitting? Maybe better to fully retract it and get a lumbar pillow ?
I want to get rollerblade wheels also, but im more concerned with the extra 1 inch of height it will add to the chair.... Maybe when/if i convert to a standing desk.
If you have given your body a chance to adjust, and are still uncomfortable, then this just might not be the chair FOR YOU. And that's ok.. everyone's body is different. Secret Labs does sell a LUMBARD SUPPORT PRO cushion for this chair though. Maybe that would help your back.
@@Extermicide I doubt it will help, it feels like the chair does not want me to sit in it and is pushing me out. My friend loves the chair though, maybe weight is a factor with these chairs.
I've had the 2020 Titan for 1 1/2 years, and I absolutely hate it. This tip is good and I'm tempted to try, but the biggest problem for me is the hard backrest. Which does not give. At all. It might as well be made from plywood for all the comfort it gives. Looking for other chairs, but they all have the gAmInG cHaIr aesthetic with pointless holes in the top, and bucket seat design to keep me in the chair when I'm doing corners at 60mpg - which, shockingly, doesnt happen very often. Those that arent are either too hard again, or too short. Tricky.
I never used the 2020 version of the chair. The 2022 version has built in adjustable lumbar support as well as a "Lumbar Pro" memory foam pillow that Secret Labs sells. They do also sell Lumbar Pillows for your model of chair at their website. Maybe one of those would help you out.
I might be the only one but I don't find the seat all that stiff. What I do find stiff is the backrest. Feels like compressed cardboard. Is this something that will get softer over time or will it always be this stiff?
Actually had to order a second one because my cat fell in love with it, and kinda tore it up! - LOL - Besides that, it has been solid, and has worked out great for my tail-bone. I actually couldn't be any happier with this particular seat cushion.
Imagine buying a 600€ chair that needs mods to be able to sit in it. I have a Titan Evo 2022 for 8 months now. I got compressed nerves who led to other issues i wish no one to get, tailbone pain, backpain and numbness no matter how i adjust it. Even using a feet support to raise my legs. It's insane. A chair should adapt to you, not the other way around. It should support a healthy posture yes, but not force your posture while being that hard. It may work for certain weight scenarios but for people who are bellow that, this chair won't work no matter what you do. Sitting on concrete. I regret the purchase a lot.
I think "sitting on concrete" is a massive over exaggeration, but then again, everyone is different. So for you, yes, maybe that is exactly what it feels like - and hence I can understand where you are coming from.
I've had mine for 6 months, and recently went to a friend's house where they have the omega chair. Which has a cushion! So I pinged their customer support about why is evo so hard in comparison, and they asked for pictures. Long story short, they're sending me a new seat base cuz they said it looks like something went wrong with it (support person said it looked like the foam collapsed on the left side; I had a "oh is that why I've been feeling lopsided" moment). Anyway, if you haven't yet, maybe try contacting them. It's possible something is just wrong with your chair.
These gaming chairs aren’t really great ergonomically and are way overpriced. Nice to use to recline back on but for ergonomics and comfort, name brand / reputable office chairs are much better.
@Extermicide, can you straight off recommend a decent plushy gaming chair from any brand? I was expecting this to be one (unfortunately didn't see your videos or other negative reviews before buying it) and not really sure I want to dish out extra cash on an extra padding just because a $500 chair has a flawed design. And speaking of car seats, even my BMW sport leather seats are way way softer. Just like leather sofas and office chairs, gaming chairs should be plushy enough so that you can fall asleep in them.
Here's the best advice I can give you..... Don't blindly order a chair online that you have never actually sat in, no matter how good the reviews are. Every persons body is different. Goto OFFICE DEPOT, OFFICE MAX, or STAPLES, and sit in all their chairs and find out what's comfortable for YOU.
This is what I had to do after ordering around 4 chairs throughout 2022 and returning 2 of them, the others went to other people in my house, my kids love one of them haha. I'll NEVER buy another chair unless I sit in it first.@@Extermicide
@@Extermicide I'm 225 pounds and I feel like after a full year I'm sitting on a wood bench. I even added a small gel cushion to it. As someone who crosses one leg onto the chair and leans sideways while gaming or typing for work, I'm barely able to walk when I first get up out of my chair. I'm probably getting arthritis too. I fairly certain I need to commit to finding a new chair but everything out there was made for ants. I need a big chair because leg crossing is a must. Ive tried herman miller and steelcase chairs, they are all too small of a seat pan. If secret labs would just make a soft bottom chair I'd be so happy.
Let's face it, it is hard AF. I was dissapointed with mine as well and still not used to it. Got a purple brand seat cusion to make it tolerable. Should have went with a differnet chair brand...
Its definitely "not for everyone" - and this "IS BY DESIGN". The seat cushion I suggested though helps a lot! Just keep your cats off of it if you have any. They like to sink their claws into the memory foam with much love!
I hope you get the affiliate money if I used your link and opened the Amazon app through it instead of the browser… if not, apologies but thanks for the recommendation
Spent 930$ on this chair as i thought itd be better for my hips than the one i had from staples, turns out this chair destroys my hip even worse, ive been at a loss for how to make it comfortable, ive gone back to my old chair :/
Sorry to hear this. Sounds like the damage to your body was already preexisting, and quite honestly no chair is gonna help fix damage that has already been done. I hope you are seeing a doctor though, and that you find SOMETHING that is comfortable for your body at this stage.
You know, I have actually thought about that also. Hell, I would even be happy if they decided to sell a 'DELUXE REPLACMENT SEAT' that actually was more cushiony. I wish SECRET LAB would see this video, and read the comments from all you guys & gals -- all you CUSTOMERS!
@@ExtermicideHi, did you see that Secretlab is now selling a seat cushion? Apparently it is quite thick and supports weight very well. Were you able to try it?
@@dyIanrs Yea, I saw . So It got announced shortly after we started talking about how they should make their own cushion here. Right now it's only available for preorder. Oddly enuff, its dimensions pretty much match up with the cushion I mention here - the only 2 differences being you get the SECRETLAB name sewed into the cushion, and that it costs over 2 times more than the cushion I show you here. For that price, I don't see me purchasing their cushion - especially since i feel it is probably a knock-off of the Kingphoenix which has a much cheaper price tag. My buddy however wants to get it just so his seat cushion has the Secretlab logo on it, so if HE goes ahead and pull's the trigger and get's it, then I'll let you guys know how the two cushions actually compare.
@@Extermicide If they could design a cushion that was actually comfortable then they should have used it on the chair itself. I have the 2024 Titan Evo XL and just ordered the amazon cushion since this seat feels like I'm sitting on the metal. The chair is no doubt built to be very strong, just wished it didn't take cheeks of steel to sit in it.
Dont know why a seat cushion would make your back worst - but if that is truly the case. then this kinda of chair is probably not suited for your body type --- AND THAT'S O.K. ! Everyone's body is different.

@@Extermicide ok im sold. Ps if you have one put your cats scratching post nearby it will discourage clawing the chair.
Ouch! Don't understand why we haven't evolved yet to having "ONE" uniform currency world wide.
@@Extermicide yeah it will be too high
Chairs have adjustable height. You just lower the seat by an inch @@Extermicide
the seat firmness isn't even the worst for me but the back is. i just cannot find a comfortable position to lean my back.
Same problem here. I mean, I can lean against it so my back is making contact properly, but it hurts. I had to strap a cushion on that.
What size is your chair will this fit a regular size ?
My chair is XL. Not sure about the REGULAR cuz I dont own one, but the SEAT CUSHION measures 19" x 19" .. Hope this helps you.
It will always be that stiff. SecretLab however sell's a memory-foam Lumbar support that might help you out.
how is the the pillow after 6 months?
Actually had to order a second one because my cat fell in love with it, and kinda tore it up! - LOL - Besides that, it has been solid, and has worked out great for my tail-bone. I actually couldn't be any happier with this particular seat cushion.
Super great video well done
THANKYOU! Glad you found it useful!
is ur chair size regular or XL?
XL
@@Extermicide perfect i just ordered that too
Imagine buying a 600€ chair that needs mods to be able to sit in it.
Nice to use to recline back on but for ergonomics and comfort, name brand / reputable office chairs are much better.
a $3000 herman miller is less comfortable
@@rattohsecretlabs are certified by the US Ergonomics
Is this for titan xl or normal?
I have the Titan-XL, however I believe this cushion would fit any of the secret-lab chairs just fine.
a year in, I dont know what they were thinking. This is way way way way too firm.
It's the right firmness for a "select group of people". Just a little bit of extra cushion would have made the chair perfect out of the box.
TY
you are welcome!
That's my issue right now, the seat is EXTREMELY hard.
Its definitely "not for everyone" - and this "IS BY DESIGN". The seat cushion I suggested though helps a lot! Just keep your cats off of it if you have any. They like to sink their claws into the memory foam with much love!
any example for the back seat. this seat cushion is really cool but the back is hurt too..hihihi
Only thing i can really suggest is the Lumbar Support Pro cushion that SecretLab makes specifically for this chair.
I hope you get the affiliate money if I used your link and opened the Amazon app through it instead of the browser… if not, apologies but thanks for the recommendation
It's all good brother. Just wanted to help others.
Its weird that secret labs wont sell their own cushion addon 🤔
I bought this cushion and it ended up making my back worse.
Dont know why a seat cushion would make your back worst - but if that is truly the case. then this kinda of chair is probably not suited for your body type --- AND THAT'S O.K. ! Everyone's body is different.
Secret labs chair are a** I’ve been having about 7/10 hips pains constantly
Sorry to hear that? Return it.. If its too old to return, but in good condition, sell it on Facebook Marketplace - and then get something more comfortable for YOU.
Solution, just dont buy a secretlab chair. I got a titan and was i glad to have gotten rid of it.
What did you find that's better?
You can buy a Kinnls Vane or Adam, for around 700$ that's much softer and all real cowhide leather.
Love mine! It's definitely not for everyone.. It's one of those chairs where you REALLY LOVE IT, or REALLY HATE IT. Doesn't seem to be much middle ground.
I sit on a neck pillow with my 2022 chair
Is that actually comfortable?
@@Extermicide I mean it’s comfier than the chair
