You know what James.. I love your reviews. I was brought up in Cleveleys & now live in Australia. I watch your reviews & it feel like a piece of home. Thank you James ❤️
I live in Texas and am currently in Arizona. There's nothing like these over here. I love a good meat and potato pie and I could have definitely gone for one of those vanilla slices too. You forgot to mention that Nick Park, the creator of Wallis and Gromit, is from Penwortham. He was at school with my cousin, who has lived on Priory Lane all his life. Next you need to toddle on down the hill and along to the end of Strand Road and check out Umbertos chippy, assuming it's still there. They used to do great business when BAC and English Electric (collectively known as Dick Kerrs, though I don't know why) folks got out for lunch or picked up some chips on the way home. Sadly those businesses have gone, along with the docks that supported so many people for so many years. Preston is a shadow of it's former self, city status or not. Driving a "bypass" right through the middle of town was just another stupid act of vandalism by a succession of totally useless councils. Even those pies aren't going to make me want to come back any time soon. Deans on Blackpool road (at Lane Ends) also does pretty good pies and excellent cafe renoirs.
I've done a vlog of Umberto's mate if you go back through my vlogs. Great chippy and sadly closed down now. Yeah, l will be doing a vlog of another place in Penwortham soon and going to name a few famous folk from the area. I know of all the places you mention and like you say, all gone down hill since their heyday. Preston not on its own though and still some nice places to visit and eat at. Cheers for your comments mate.
Proper traditional pie shop. Love it
They were great and good value too. Cheers.

That is good value for money. I get them in Preston for over £2.00 a pile!
@@elainewhiteside7354 when l was paying, l got a tenner out at first.😂
Really good value for money. In Cornwall we pay at least 4 times that amount.

Didn't realise Upper Crust was still a thing
Great bakery. I went past last Saturday and they were queueing down the road....good to see a small business thriving.
