Looked half decent but if you get a chance try 'The little fisherman ' Yeadon near Leeds, absolutely delicious, perfect and only £6.35,so top value.

I can't eat Cod I prefer Haddock either steamed in milk with Mash Potatoes and peas or fried my late mother and Grandmother swore on Cod Liver Oil Capsules for their Arthritic joints it is wot we were given at school I was exempt but still got the teaspoon each of Fig syrup and Malt Extract. They also took Evening Primrose Oil Capsules for the Menopause Here in Scotland a small Fish Supper can vary from adult size of between £9-11 and child's size with fake squash juice carton slightly less just depending where you go all the decent old fashioned family run chip shops are all but long gone now vast percentage are Muslim based behind with H my brain haven't senior daft moment I no word I want use but if brain saying not tonight we all get days like that. there was a chippy in blackburn that did a curry one. but dont think the shop exists anymore. i prefer a steak pudding.

That looked great value for money a ready cooked hot meal for £2.60 no one could moan about that these days .

Wow, What a 'blast from the Past' Almost makes me emotional about my parents, who would occasionally bring these Pies home from this place, on a weekday, after they'd each done a 12+- graft, for me & my Lil' sister 'Memories' !! Thank you for reminding me about this long forgotten place (by me personally)

Do they 'make' their own pies there - or do they buy them in at that place I visit my mother often Nr there - and would make a beeline to visit them (and give you a plug, of course) My father (RIP) used to swear by a place on 'New Hall Lane' (?) (hope Ive got that right) - and their meat pies were unbelievable (but very runny/juicy) and we had them a couple of times a week! - before i became vegetarian in 1992 Ah, what nice memories !

Lived in Preston all my life . For pies you must go to Rounds in Ribbleton, Berries on new hall lane and Deans in Ashton. All top notch but for me Rounds is best because the pastry is thin and tastey .

The banter, Plus the one hander got my subscription.. The crumb clean up crew (pigeons) tells me that was a good pasty and pie, These pigeons will not really eat a walkers crisp crumb or a subway for example but a good pie they will come flocking. its called metropolitan evolution.
