Thanks for sharing this awesome compilation! I would recommend having a shop vacuum with clear hose so you could show the lint and other objects coming out of the vent. It would save you so much time cleaning the lint off your customer's lawn.
Our dryer vent goes into a crawl space under the house then exits about 20 feet through ducting. Yes I've cleaned it a few times now with poles. Thanks for the videos and keep them coming.
I watch often but rarely comment as I’m not usually signed in! I live in an apartment building but I shudder to th8nk of some of the houses I’ve had. I’m sure the vents were a nightmare!! I often share your videos!
I learned from you, and subsequent research, and other professionals who verified, that I have inadequate duct venting - wrong material and way too long. About half (4ft or so) sits flat on the ground alongside the dryer before a complete vertical incline from the basement floor to the damper and out a basement window. I'll be fixing this asap and I need to learn how to clean out the dryer itself. So much lint build up inside the machine!
Just bought a 25 yr old house, and my husband was outside while dryer running, there was no air movement from vent! Lo and behold, the vent cover had been screwed shut! Traced vent pipe to ceiling space over sons bedroom where the dirt and dust had been accumulating for who knows how long. This could be a very interesting fix. Sigh.
I live in Canada and we don't have "crawl spaces" that is accessible from the outside. They are all in the basement or basement type space. I know Way up north, they don't have basements because the ground is too cold to build so all the homes are on stilts. I'm not sure how they have their dryer vent space 🤔 I'm always fascinated when you go into crawl spaces from the outside
My dryer vent goes right out the window above the dryer..my wall is too thick to get a vent thru..but I'm going to check the 3 foot line from dryer to window after watching your videos.
This is satisfying! Is the drill spinning clockwise? I want a hookup like this for my drill! I'm glad to see you wearing a mask & gloves when touching bird debris. Is there any way to capture all the dust & fluff so that it's not flying all around?
Just bingeing some of your videos from across the world (NZ). We don't even have a dryer vent - we have our dryer by a window and just open the window when we use it. Clean the lint filter after 2-3 loads unless it's towels then its straight away. An idea that I'd love to see is colour markings on your hose so we can see just how far in you go each time? Could be like rainbow coloured installation type, different colour per metre (I guess yard for USA).
Great Advice! I recently received a sectional. I never even thought about NOT using reverse. The reason is obvious now that you say it. That could have been a bad thing! 😅
Good video compilation. Is this where I mention that I use dryer lint mixed with melted candlewax as a fire starter in my fireplace? FWIW, my washer-dryer is next to an outer wall, and the vent is only about 3 feet worth of flex. I check lint screen before every load, and have next to zero lint in vent after 2 generations.
I’ve had my dryer for three months and it is not hooked up as I can’t find anyone to hook it up for less the 1k. Some have told me they would do it for $2-300.00 and never show up.
The advantage of a condensdryer over these systems you show us is, we clean the lint catching item after every use of the dryer. So we don't need a company to clean our vents.
Best way to find out is have your dryer off. Walk outside to whichever side of the building your unit is. Look up at any hoods or flapper dampers and notice if they’re open or closed… Then go inside, turn your dryer on. Walk back out and see which, if any, of the dampers are open now that weren’t when your dryer was off. Knowing where your dryer vent exists the structure is extremely important! I’d love for you to send me pictures at: advsLLC@gmail.com! I want to help you figure this out because it could help MANY other people with the same setup as yourself! Thanks!
Mine runs straight out dude! I didn’t use any flex hose. From the dryer to the wall, I cut to fit aluminum duct, so there are no ‘ribs’ to catch lint on.
If you need a video to be in business… you are in the wrong business. If you have a passion for any kind of work go for it but you can’t expect to receive the secret of the sauce if you can’t cook… That is just wrong.
My dryer vents directly outside. Less than 4” of flex hose from the dryer to the wall. I wouldn’t ever buy a house that had the vent going around corners or up thru a roof.
I hope you wear a mask. I'm a 69 year old with two adult sons who own their own homes. I worry about them because their father was white collar and knew nothing. I love your videos and hope to get my sons to watch.
Sure but the worst one was a full grown opossum that had crawled all the way through the vent to the back of the dryer… Homeowner said they smelled something terrible and organic…. Yup, they literally “cooked” the poor animal…
Stupid question???? Why don't you cut a hole in the bottom of a garbage bag and put your snake/whiz wheel through the garbage bag and then tape the garbage bag around the dryer vent so this way all the debris does not go all over the customer's yard? This way when it's done is collected in the bag and is easy for removal. But then you wouldn't have anything to make content for wonderful RUclips channel I get it

Thank you all! CHEERS!
What a dangerous job up there on those steep roofs! Be careful out there, Steve!! 😮
You need to get fiber optic camera to look up into dryer vent line that would be cool
Hi Steve 👋 great videos you watch, the first one with the birds nest had me laughing, not funny for you though, take care 🏴
Thx for sharing!
Love your videos. Most people forget to do a deep clean in back of dryer and front vent.
Our dryer vent goes into a crawl space under the house then exits about 20 feet through ducting. Yes I've cleaned it a few times now with poles. Thanks for the videos and keep them coming.
Very interesting so far!
This is great!

Our vent is right above our dryer going straight out of the basement wall.
We're in Iowa and vent to the attic. Love your work and how you take care of yourself wearing respiratory protection!
Watching you, im thinking of Dick Van Dyke as the chimney sweep singing Chim chim-in-ey, chim chim-in-ey
Chim chim cher-ee!
😂. I’ll take it!
Awesome compilation, Steve!
Dang Steve! What the hay day is going on here? 😂😅 that'd make some fluffy pillows! 🤪😂
Im in the UK and the majority of our tumble dryers are condenser types so don't need an external vent
I’m in the U.K. too and condenser dryers make life so much easier

Mine goes thru the roof and it was just cleaned out by a company a couple of months ago.
My dryer vent goes right out the window above the dryer..my wall is too thick to get a vent thru..but I'm going to check the 3 foot line from dryer to window after watching your videos.
Love watching - my vent goes straight out the wall
This is satisfying!

Great video Steve!
NIIIICE!!!
Great Advice! I recently received a sectional. I never even thought about NOT using reverse. The reason is obvious now that you say it. That could have been a bad thing! 😅
Mine goes in and up the wall. I had to borrow a snake to get it clean when I first moved into my place. It was horrible.

LOVE IT! Thanks for watching and sharing!
I need to clean my dryer vent asap
Our dryer is in front of a window in our basement
The vent goes out the window
I’ve had my dryer for three months and it is not hooked up as I can’t find anyone to hook it up for less the 1k. Some have told me they would do it for $2-300.00 and never show up.
It’s easy to do it yourself for free
@ only if you are an electrician which I’m not.
Thru the roof
I gotta watch this one again, HA!
The advantage of a condensdryer over these systems you show us is, we clean the lint catching item after every use of the dryer.
So we don't need a company to clean our vents.
❤
What do you use to make the vents pop like that? A blower?
My dryer vent is a straight pipe through the wall, connected to the dryer with some of that acordian type pipe.
our vent goes through a wall right outside, theres only like 3 feet for the air to travel
mine is run out of the window for now. I have to replace the one that goes under the house.
Great stuff. Please tell us what keeps you so motivated.?
You would love my dryer exhaust vent, it's no more than 2 ft. It is literally behind the door to the back mud room.
Are you using an air hose or rods?
I'm using a single piece cable driven brush.
What brand cable driven brush do you recommend?
Right through the wall. Length of pipe is 5 ft from dryer to the wall.
I have a stackable washer and dryer in my RV how often should I get it cleaned. It’s a 2022 fifth wheel
My condo’s dryer vent goes up the basement wall and out under a semi ground level deck that isn’t accessible from the outside.
That Thumbnail 😳
Live in an apartment and not sure where it goes.

18:28 I was more concerned bout you falling of the roof.
Mine runs straight out dude!
I didn’t use any flex hose.
From the dryer to the wall, I cut to fit aluminum duct, so there are no ‘ribs’ to catch lint on.
Ours goes from basement to the driveway. Easy access.
Can you do a video about getting into this business? How to advertise, how do you offer the service to the customer, etc.
If you need a video to be in business… you are in the wrong business.
If you have a passion for any kind of work go for it but you can’t expect to receive the secret of the sauce if you can’t cook…
That is just wrong.
If you live in Indiana we could use you
Dryer vent turns 90⁰ to the right with a 10 foot straight shot to the outside. And yes, I check it annually.
Our vent is right next to the dryer going out the wall on the 1st floor
I have neither a dryer nor a vent for it. My clothes dry on a metal folding rack. Dryer plumbing is really not a thing in my country.
My dryer vents directly outside. Less than 4” of flex hose from the dryer to the wall. I wouldn’t ever buy a house that had the vent going around corners or up thru a roof.
I live in the U.K. and I have a condenser dryer
Mine goes straight out the floor.
But after it goes through the floor, where does it go?
Right out the wall
Mine goes right out the basement window.
I hope you wear a mask. I'm a 69 year old with two adult sons who own their own homes. I worry about them because their father was white collar and knew nothing. I love your videos and hope to get my sons to watch.
Do .25 speed at 9 minutes…wow!
My dryer is by outside wall, sons’ is 6 feet and daughters’ is by outside wall.
👍❤️👍👍👍👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️
Good grief! How had that not caused a fire?
On the roof and it need cleaned out
Have you ever found a snake in a vent before?
Sure but the worst one was a full grown opossum that had crawled all the way through the vent to the back of the dryer… Homeowner said they smelled something terrible and organic…. Yup, they literally “cooked” the poor animal…
I'm amazed these people don't have house fires .
