    Kobe was the best player in the NBA in his 17th year, I don't think y'all know how insane that is. Dude is a beast, I wish he would of never tore his Achilles

      +Cody Cooper if kobe didnt tear his achilles they would have won a championship.

      +derrick howard jr three years later and i still think about his achilles injury...if that never happened he'd still be tearing up the league. fuckkkk i hate that he got injured but it was bound to happen. Maybe Mr. Pringles aka mike dantoni shouldnt have given him so many mins like fuck before this injury he only rested for a total of 16 mins in his last 7 games combined...like how insane is that on a 34 year old body smh. ofc kobe was trying to get them to the playoffs but still dantoni was playing him 45-47 mins per game. i honestly blame him for not controlling his minutes

    • @BrandonWS324
      @BrandonWS324 8 лет назад +13

      he wasn't the best but he was borderline top 5.. Lebron and Durant no doubt passed him up. You could also make case for Chris Paul, few other guys. Still though, he was right up there

    • @BrandonWS324
      @BrandonWS324 8 лет назад +1

      no he wouldn't lol he was 20 seasons in bro, he would be feeling decline no matter what. BUT achilles quickened decline a great deal that's forsure

    One thing that makes me sad about Kobe is that no one (except true fans) will remember Kobe for his great teamwork and great passing (not passing to get an assist). I feel the fucking media has blasted an image across every webpage, article, and blog that Kobe isn't a good teammate, that he is a ball hog, that it has started effecting young adults into thinking this is true. This isn't true. Kobe has been one of the best teammates in the NBA and has always been about team winning above everything else mentality (like Duncan). Does he go for scoring records? Yes, but in the playoffs he is dialed in and knows he has to pass the ball to succeed. One of the great things about Kobe is that he makes his teammates truly great players and elevates them and motivates them beyond their actual skill level. In other words, he has done what Lebron has failed to do almost every playoffs and that is to make your teammates better. Lebron gets his teammates easy shots sometimes but that will not do because can't have the ball in his hands every procession. What happened to Lebron in the finals? When he sat down, his teammates fell apart because they didn't know what to do. No one taught them. Kobe has done things that no one will be able to accomplish again for a long time and no one will actually remember it. Sad.

      +nitotech Very true. You realize how much the media has control over people's lives. In reality, Kobe is a great passer and teammate and above all else...as great person a well. You can really see his growth throughout his career, not only in basketball, but in his personality too.

      I don't know about that. Every website, blog, news article, youtube comment, whatever, glorifies kobe as the greatest player in basketball history, next to Jordan. I ain't a huge NBA fan but I watch games weekly, and this is my observation. I'd also like to note that I haven't seen a player in any sport get as much props as kobe, He could be playing 2000 miles away from his hometown yet when he dunks entire stadiums go crazy, people go nuts. i haven't seen that before with any player in NBA history.

    I have been watching the NBA for 40 years now and I must say that there is only two players that's fun to watch and they are legends of all the legends when it comes to game of basketball. First: Michael Jordan. Second: Kobe Bryant. I don't see any other player who can match their skills and talents to win and be a champion. There are some awesome players no doubt: Lebron, D.Wade, Bird, Magic, Durant etc…! But Jordan & Kobe are on a different LEVEL.

      MVP Derrick Rose was Crazy Exciting

  • @ninareyes8653
    @ninareyes8653 9 лет назад +65

    Had he not torn his achilles, these would have been the scenarios:
    1. He would have been the MVP that year (well, if the Lakers did better then). Playing at the age of 34 at that level, still schooling younger players and making fearless dunks, was insane!
    2. He would have still been one, if not the most, dominant players until now, something that Kobe haters and one-sided media would have been pissed about.
    3. He would not have written his emotional poem in Players' Tribune and letter to his fans because he would not have thought of retirement after this season.
    Well, Kobe has not been his former self for the seasons following his achilles injury. But as one of his avid fans, I will not remember him for this. For me, he will still always be the player with unparalleled work ethics, who would do everything to make his team win, even if he was already hurting (remember his two free-throws after his injury) and who stayed with the Lakers through good and bad times.
    Thank you, Kobe. NBA will never be the same without you.

    This was Kobe`s last year at the highest level at 35 years old at that, how many 35 year old`s in the nba could play as well as he did that season. I know in recent years there had been some hate for this guy, when you ever think about him you got to respect the hard work he`s put in and what he`s done for the game of basketball over the past 19 to 20 years
    So many of today`s stars look up to him, all i can say is, is this is his last season i hope he has a good one even though, things are looking very bad for the lakers.

    Nobody could touch him. The only thing that can stop Kobe is his age. His 20 years in the NBA is taking its toll. I have been a Kobe fan since i was 6 and now I'm 18. Been following and idolizing him for 12 years and what i can say about him right now is that retirement is coming soon but not now. I believe he can still get that 6th ring. Love him or hate him, you can't deny he is one of the most accomplished players and by far the toughest player ever in NBA history. I personally think he is up there with MJ as the greatest of all time. Even Michael said so himself that only Kobe's worthy enough for that comparison. Good luck with the rest of your career Kobe. You'll always be my favorite basketball player of all time.

    Heck of a season for Kobe. 12-13 is one of my favorites! he was faster, more explosive, and just playing on another level. I think he was the best in the game this season. whereas 2011 and 2012, Bron and KD were in the top 3 along with Kobe. but 13 Kobe stands out.

    I've watched Kobe for a very long time and I can honestly say this was Kobe's best season as a player. Why? Because this was the ultimate test for him. Not having that same athleticism and speed but yet he was still dropping 40 easy on teams getting triple doubles easy, guarding the best point guards in the league all game locking them down easy. Playing all 48 minutes for like 8 games in a row before he tore his achilles. All my real Laker fans know how turnt up Kobe got towards the end of this season. Shit was like 06 all over again.
    I blame Jim Buss, Dwight Howard, Nash and Pau for not stepping up the way they should have and playing through injuries. They sat in Kobe's back pack all season and it didn't help at all. Props to Steve Blake and metta for stepping up.
    I had a feeling Kobe would have gotten injured just wasn't expecting the achilles.

    I truly appreciate all of your comments, guys. The first beat is just a random beat I found from Dee Smith's Kobe vs. Jordan video, and has no particular name that I know. Kobe Bean Bryant has taught me everything I know about the game of basketball, and even life itself. Ever since becoming a fan in 2004 and watching his every single game, I have been emotionally attached to this one player. Anything I do in life, my will to be "The Best" always refers back to Kobe and what he displays

    How more superstars did not join this man when he changed numbers for the last of his years, beats me… they were still doubling & even tripling him in his 17th year because they knew nobody else was more dam daring & accurate on those #24 Kobe Bryant teams then Kobe Bryant..that extension they gave him after he tore his Achilles had a lot of people panicking including me but we really thought there was gonna be better then Dash & Howard.. they treated him like he was Wizards Jordan after his last chip.. #24 for the lakers was just truly misunderstood. His mental razors to the game were so much more sharp then ever around 2010 & on… Legends Never Die 🐐🙏🏽

    I cried that night Kobe walked off the court. The look he had in his eye was just, different. It was depressing like if he knew his time was almost up. I hope he has one final stride in his career because it would be sad to see a legend, a great, a hero go like this. Please come back stronger Kobe and prove your doubters that you truly are DIFFERENT!

    Why are people complaining that Kobe "copied" Jordan. That's who he looked up to and now he's left his own legacy and people will want to be Kobe… One of the greatest of all time.

    I hate that the injury had to happen. He was averaging 27 ppg that year and had he not been injured the following year would've been the same for him. His game made him an elite player plus his footwork is just outta here. All the greats career gotta come to an end. Kobe by far was the next Michael Jordan the question now is who's gonna be the next Kobe???
