You're welcome! :)
Thanks for this one, i was hoping you will do it someday :)
"Back in the eighties you'd have a trillion drums and toms... and you probably had six hundred different hi-hats as well"
You look like you really enjoy playing that ! 🙂👍🏻
Haha! It's a lot of fun to play! :)
Hey Rob, since you've tried both yamaha and rolands, which would you recommend in terms of how realistic the pads feel compared to an acoustic kit?
+inkix1987 I am biased, but Roland are my pick. They have the patent on mesh heads. A fabric that feels more like a real drum head, compared to just rubber. Unfortunately, they also charge a lot for this. If you really NEED that realism whilst practicing then Roland...otherwise, Yamaha do a great job!!
Are you sure it’s accented 8th notes on the hi-hat and not 1/4 notes?... I can’t find the answer but I think it sounds more like 1/4 notes on a part-open hi-hat. I’ve seen it played both ways in any case, and I think I prefer 8th notes, but just wondered which is correct...!
Yes, I can explain this in the full lesson. I'm playing accented quarter notes on the hi-hat but playing eighth notes. Because of the washy nature on the hi-hat, you could just play quarter notes though.
www.DrumsTheWord.com I see, ok thanks for the reply mate, cheers 👍👍
@@daztastic147 - DAZ - MY BUDDY I WOULD NOT ASK THIS GUY ANY ADVICE!!!
I CANNOT BELIEVE HE IS GIVING LESSONS ON THIS SONG BUT COMPLETELY PLAYING IT
WRONG!!!!!!??????
THAT IS ABSOLUTELY NOT THE KICK BEAT WHATSOEVER!!!!!!! WRONG COMPLETELY WRONG OMG!!!!!!
@@petergriffinelectricdrums4164 You need to clam down and turn off the caps lock, matey. The bass drum pattern I teach you is the bass drum pattern from the song. It is very obvious to any experienced drummer and is repeated whenever they play it live.
Nice tutorial. :) T #musicmansladies
I could all that on my keyboard?
Cool!
I mean do...

+oliver lynch Bless your cotton socks, Oliver. Nobody has told you yet...did you not get the email? We don't type that on RUclips anymore. Sorry ;)
+oliver lynch I'm sorry Oliver. After reading my comment back I realised just how mean it sounds. Thing is, mate. This is an ongoing joke with me. Whenever someone types 1st on my videos I make a point about it. I actually find it funny, and don't mind it at all. It just gives me a chance to be "witty" on a public forum. If you want to email me at rob@drumstheword.com then I will give you a years free subscription on my website. Your friend, Rob.
