I caught one of them at the MCG in bay13 when I was about 12. Gordon Greenidge smashed it to long on, I was in the second row. I got a big cheer and a fair bit of cred!! Nice memories haha x
Mark Waugh could easily have 30 catches in this video. The issue is, half of them he made look so easy, even though they very tough, they're over looked. There are many great fielders, but Mark Waugh in the slips was the best of the best.
Dravid played 36 tests more than Waugh and has only 20 extra catches. Obviously he will have more catches and most were against spin. Also most of Waugh's catches were off raw fast pace and Warne's spin. Dravid was great, But Waugh was only one. @@D.ThirumalaikumarKumar
The great Bill Lawry a cricketing purist! No one does controlled hyperbole better! I could just imagine Ritchie being on hand taser at the ready to keep him in check! Man, I miss the big four (Bill, Ritchie, Ian, and Tony) Where cricket objectivity was the name of the game instead of the dull crap we get today.
No way the catches at the beginning are from 2001. First two look like they're from 98-99 Ashes tour. Dravid and Ponting are definitely from the 99/00 ODI Tri-Series of Aus/Ind/Pak. Do better with your dates WWS numpties
Channel 9 had broadcast rights for decades with cricket, this is all from their own archive. Robelinda YT channel got most of his content from Channel 9. Look careful and youll see the blurred out logo at the top of his videos!
Catchers back then always attempted too keep hand off ground after the catch... as did we playing a game called classic catches. But today more and more catches are being given not out as the catcher touches ball on the grass
Half these wouldn't be given these days, with the ball touching the ground while the player is sliding on the ground (with complete control of the ball).
Great job filling a robelinda2 shaped void!
Rest in peace Rob
Easily 85% of the catches are called by Bill Lawry. RIPPER!!! The best commentary team ever in the world and missing the coverage on Wwos these days.

Look at the crowd sizes for state games. Would be doing well to get a quarter of the number of people in these days.
True. No need to go to state one-dayers any more when there's 248 BBL games you can go to, lol.
Big Bash has ruined cricket in Australia. The summer of cricket is as bad as ever.
T20 and its consequences has been a disaster for the human race
Need badly such another compilation from 2006-2023

Best overall fielder ever imo
@@1refiDravid holds record in most catches.
@@1refione of the best fielder not the best.
Mark waugh and mcmillan of sa best slip fielders

I miss those days! Aussie tri series cricket, Bill Lawry and the channel nine team - so good!

agree..loved Bill Lawry and Richie Benaud..
@@vinayshende9867 They were the apex my friend
I so miss Channel Nine and that famous quartet.
so many of these would not be given out these days
The first catch from Mark Waugh was from the 1998/99 Ashes series, not 2001
There was a catch from Slater too, I think he was dropped before 2001, but I might be mistaken. There was Taylor supposedly in 2002 as well.
Ramprakash's catch was from the 1998/99 Ashes series as well.
Mushtaq's was in 1999 as well.
Wide world of sports,
Please Please Please take back Australian Cricket..
I long for quality
Wide World of Sports quality..
classic catches with classic Tony Greig and Bill Lawry
The one thing that could have made this perfect was the Classic Catches music playing in the background for 25 minutes 😂 that was gold!
What a catch...what A catch.
10:25 Nice re-mix of the classic Channel Nine Cricket Theme.
Were these just the best at the end of each year? So many pre-2001 here.

gooood nostalgia right here team.
That was an amazing catch from dravid!
Forget the catches. I miss the commentary....
Rippers galore and in this video, especially from the fans 😂
First time seeing the Dravid catch: wow! :o
Good times when domestic cricket was on free to air. Summers of of old.
Damien martyn had the ball touched the ground😮😮😮
All of the test match catches in the first minute are pre 2001. This is your own footage, how can you have them stored without that information?
highlights at the start are the ashes in 1998/99
The hardest catches were fast bowlers C&B. Mark Waugh v Ricky Ponting for best infield catches. So tough to choose.
Mark waugh was the king
Dravids catch 👌
Youse gonna credit robelinda cos I swear I’ve seen all these videos on his channel at some point

Rob had 1% of the resources but uploaded 100x the content and never earned a cent. Sad day when he got royally screwed
who put this together half of these are not even from the right year and you put the ING cup as 2003 sheffield shield
Fun package, but a lot of these national highlights are not from the right years...
Catches shown earlier were from 1998 ashes not 2001
That 2002 Taylor catch was from 1993
Mark Waugh was best all around fielder
North Sydney Oval providing crowd catches aplenty 😂
Few of these would be not out today as players put ball on ground like starc
2001-2005? First two catches are from the '98-'99 Ashes series!
Ramps catch was 1998-99 mcg
BIll Lawry 🥰

You could just have 25 mins of Mark Waugh alone
Zimbabwe used to tour Australia for tests. Wow! Those were the days!
is Robelinda2 managing this channel?
Golden days of cricket when India used to play real cricket ..
8:04 Vasbert Spider-Man Drakes
Technique, style and class, how it should be. T20's have ruined cricket, just flog it and hope for the best.
Reckon a few would be scrutinised now for ball on the ground
Mark Waugh and friends
Damn what a great upload! Just shared it with myself on Whatsapp. Going to bed now but will watch in the morning in the shitter.
How come no sand paper moments?
Mark waugh
Bring back the ODI Tri Series and get rid of T20
I would be keen to see how good Stuart MacGill can take a catch while on coke
19:19 not many people could do that to Shane Warne
the ing cup is one day not sheffied shiled
A lot of them touched the ground...is that a new thing now, or just the (cheating) English?
Dude most of these are average!
Didn't see any catches from Pakistan???
Saw one from Moin Khan
@Shivian124
Ok, my bad
@kurdtttCobainnn
Yes Wasim reckons he'd have another 50+ test wickets if he was in another side
Mushtaq had a caught and bowled in there.
