Max Walkers comment summed up Hadlees performance perfectly-no bouncers, no intimidation, just pure skill.
High praise from the late great big Max, a fine bowler; he would know.
I love how his celebrations are the biggest and happiest when Chats actually caught them down at fine leg haha.
Chats took most catches that came his way.
Arguably has the greatest ever stats for a fast bowler in the entire history of cricket ..
9-52. 12.15 ave. 5 5wi bags in three tests. 2 10w bags. Greatest performance by a quick.
Hadlee's 9-52 is the best innings performance by a pace bowler in test cricket since George Lohmann's 9-28 against South Africa in 1896. Lohmann's figures occurred in just the 48th test match of all time while the latest test match, the just-concluded second test between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, was the 2537th test match of all time. So Hadlee's 9-52 is the best innings performance by a pace bowler in test cricket in the 128 years and 2489 tests since Lohmann's 9-28. That's pretty staggering stuff.
Sir Richard Hadlee is one of the greatest All Rounder in his days, and he is a legend ❤❤❤
Hadlee was the weakest batsman of the 4 great All-rounders of his era ( Kapil Dev, Imran Khan and Ian Botham) but was the best bowler.
Beautiful to watch. Perfect length and just enough movement off the pitch and late in the air.
It's a treat to see footage of Hadlee bowling longer spells and how he used to set batsmen up for the dismissal delivery!
*THE MASTER OF LINE AND LENGTH*
Played 86 Tests
Avrg 22.29
36 - Fifa's
9 - 10 wkt bags
Best 9/52 v Aus at the Gabba.
Legend such a Superb Action, one of the greatest of all time
What a bowler, about the perfect action.
In his 9-52, Hadlee also took the catch for the other wicket to fall.
Sir Richard Hadley ♥️ is the greatest of all bowlers. No words to praise this gentleman
Exactly exactly. The greatest of all bowlers I have seen from 1983 till today. No words in English dictionary can truly express or define his class. I will love to watch Sir Hadlee bowling for millions of years. In simple words CRICKET was CRICKET only because of SIR RICHARD HADLEE AND SIR VIV RICHARDS. With all the Respect from Pakistan.
Maybe spell his name correctly?
Compare *McGraths* stats too *Hadlee,* even *Jimmy Anderson* who's played 100 more Tests totalling 700 wkts has only *3 - 10 wkt bags.*
The Man is a true Master of precision bowling.
Hadlee. Just a perfect exponent of line and length seam bowling. Beautiful to watch. A few wickets came from poor shots on bad balls (Border - 1st Inn, Gabba) but for the most part it was just awesome bowling.
how smooth was that action..
True legend of the game ❤
Gem of a fast bowler. Sir Richard Hadlee.
A wonderful bowler at his peak
Hadlee had perhaps one of the three best bowling actions in history, the others being Fred Trueman and Michael Holding.
NZ won a test series in Aus ,in 1986(only time the have won ) and it was because of Richard Hadlee .
Once again, tells us the importance of fast and seam bowling in Aus.
Marshall, Lillee, Hadlee, Akram. The 4 best.
Great Upload. Can you upload simillar compilation of wickets taken by Curtly Ambrose in 1992-93 World Series Championship?
If only i wish to born again i will pray to give a birth like Richard Hadley
The GREATEST EVER!
what an era of cricket, characters all good
A class above
haddle and akram best ive seen
Wat a bowler he was fantastic Era of Imran Khan, Ian Botham, Kapil Dev , Great all rounders .
Hadlee was a one of the best bowlers right hand and left hand batter. ❤❤❤
No Australian cricketer valued their own wicket more than G. Matthews...but as Matthews walked off the pictures told the story of a good cricketer removed by a superb cricketer..Greg knew it and Hadlee knew it was his day. As Mr Walker said, "...pure skill".
A gentle man suited for gentle man s game
A master - in his prime.
Ian Smith gobbled up everything that came his way. Looks like he hasn't stopped gobbling everything that comes his way!
That's the second comment like that from you. Have you something against the man?
Ian Smith was a fine keeper standing back - best ever from NZ. Not so good standing up, but still good enough.
He is like right handed Waseem Akram.
Unfortunately a small crowd at gabba
I think some test careers ended that summer.
Matthews, Ritchie, Wessels, were soon replaced with Marsh, Jones, Waugh.
And Hilditch, don't forget him; Australia's not so happy hooker.
Such an underrated gem of fast bowling.
Underrated?? He is considered as the greatest fast bowler (almost unarguably) to have ever bowled.
How is 9-52 & 6-71 “underrated fast bowling?”🙄
This comment takes the ‘underrated’ nonsense to new levels.
Nothing underrated about Hadlee.
🐐
Australia vs Pakistan Test Match Waiting
Please go live Pak vs PM 11.
Sir Richard Nadslee
Is all Richard's,, Richard Hadley and viv Richard's and all Richard's arr having Rich performance
His bowling action was smother than a baby's bum...😅
Another Brilliant Upload Keep it up
Cricket com. AUS please upload virender Sehwag 195 at Melbourne 2003 full innings please🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Okay but why was he wearing a shirt
old school, that's the way we did it.
I have doubt about Hadley, lily etc as they seldom played in sub-continent where 2 wkts mean 6-7 wkts in nz,aus or england, i think marshal is real greatest as he succeed in all condition.
Have another look. Hadlee only visited Pakistan once. His stats in SL and India are outstanding.
The sub continent is the ultimate test for a bowler.
Worst Australian team ever assembled.
Close but no. The Packer era team that lost the ashes to Brearley's England side in 78 - 79 was worse.
@@BigAmp Probably, but I don't count them because they were basically a third string team.
@@chalkandcheese1868 Yep, they were not great and thats for sure; boys against men against the poms, except for Rodney Hogg. Yet those games count as tests but matches played to a much higher standard that were incredibly tough, such as the Packer super tests and the series against "The Rest" in the early 70s which replaced the cancelled tour by SA, are not. Thats the ICC for you.... go figure.
Shami and bumrah are more dangerous and skillful than hadlee
Nah man
No
What planet are you on
They weren't that dangerous or skillful against Travis Head in the world cup final, he destroyed them 😂😂😂
Uh huh.
Paddles was a gun also handy with the bat and great in the field
That consistently all round aspect is the most remarkable thing to me.
