It brings a tear to my eye to see Tex of all people choosing to fly the Italians in WT out of the blue. May your engines stay cool and your Breda's strike true.
-a proud Italy main with 1500 hours
Truly a wonderful day. To an Italian 900 hour main to another!
Tex only got "half of it" though, because that bomber doesnt just have "a table" ... it has "a kitchen" too! Where else could you make the pasta and Cappucino?
Having a table without the food is pointless!
I am "pretty old" (for the internet) and got my education in the 70s/80s in West-Berlin and our german teacher was an old soldier from the Wehrmacht and he talked a bit about *ROLLBAHNKRÄHEN* ... basically cloth-winged scout planes similar to the Swordfish.
They were scouting the army walking in columns on the road (the "rollbahn", "Krähe = crow") and in order to shoot it down you basically had to hit the pilot ... and because of this any soldier who managed it (with his puny rifle) got 2 weeks leave back home.
Sometimes in the North Atlantic, the headwinds were so strong that Swordfish could be overtaken by destroyers
Tex I'm watching you on the smart tv... It's glorious.
I watched this on my smart tv.
It’s not smart anymore.
😃😄😄
@@dougjb7848 the important thing is that we are here together.

"why you heff to me med? Is only game."
The Italians drew the worst conclusions from their experiences during the Spanish Civil War. The future would obviously be high performance bi planes.
Someone get that swordfish pilot a cup of earl grey and a cookie - on the double, chop chop lads.
Cookie? Don't you mean biscuit?
Damn colonials. Scones are for tea.
Surely you mean a gin and tonic, and some cucumber sandwiches?

Fear the humble swordfish, for she is a durable creature and she will survive
Bismarck: I am the pride of a nation, the most powerful and modern warship afloat, nothing can harm me
Swordfish: Allow me to introduce myself...
Heh
@@Bee_Tea_Sea I will never stop laughing at the fact that the super modern, state of the art battleship, was crippled by a flight of obsolete biplanes
@@weldonwin It wasnt "the plane" ... it was "the torpedoes" that did it. Even a rusty old car can carry a bunch of dudes with rifles to the front.
Italian bombers: *Faster than a Lamborghini.
But only *_just_*
Not as fast as a Veyron ...
@@Muck006 that Veyron is faster than most things, including some aircraft. I really want to drive one once.
@@travishabursky4362 You need to own a pretty long and straight stretch of road to max it ... which makes it a car for maybe a handful of people AND a bunch of people who need "manhood show-off help".
I'd suggest going for a jetpack instead ... the FLYBOARD AIR would probably be the best one, because it is modeled after the "waterjet board", which means you can train the behaviour more easily. At roughly $250.000 it is also a lot cheaper than the Veyron.
Delivering pizzas at terminal velocity.
What is the terminal velocity of a pizza dropped from 3000m anyways ... and is there a difference between sideways and flat?
Immediately proud to see Tex using MPH instead of whatever the rest of the world uses for speed. Good man.
Metric's better.
You can't measure godspeed in metric.
@@gigastrike2 god isn't real
@@gigastrike2 God never did anything (or else we wouldnt be in this [insert mess of the day] mess) ... so his speed is ZERO!
MPH? You mean Moons Per Hour
Britcope is my favorite genre of historical fiction.
Well ... there is always the "throw enough sh.. at the wall" saying ... and as long as you arent running out of that stuff you might as well throw it.
Look up the channel "The Tank Museum", because the designs of british tanks can get really WEIRD. Top 5 bottom tanks lists are a good place to start. I mean who doesnt think "putting the radiator for the engine on the frontal slope of the tank armor is a good idea"?
@@Muck006 I am familiar with it. They had some interesting ideas about survivability.
@@philips.5563 The early tank design is a lesson in how engineers OR bureaucratic planners had pretty bad design foci. We still have those in Germany and there is a term that came from the "this weapon system must be able to to everything" requirement coming from our military bureaucrats: the "eierlegende wollmilchsau" (an egg-laying, wooly, milkable pig). This could be observed recently, when a rifle they had ordered and bought "didnt meet specifications" ... which required it to be able to "fire as a sniper rifle" after heating up the barrel through a few hundred rounds of machine-gun fire. Or something like that. I HATE BUREAUCRATS!

Tex,
You had me at “squint real hard!”
God that Zero would have been better off flying into a mountain XD
I don't remember if it was the BPL podcast I heard the story on, or a trucking podcast. But one guys story of doing armoured patrols in iraq/afghanistan, was that they were given a delivery mission through fairly hostile territory to an Italian FOB. Through an ambush or two, they eventually get there, and deliver what they now discover, was a full size cheese wheel.
Least the soldiers there shared their wine/beer and food for the delivery.

Darren apparently just fought at the Siege of Malta with how good he is with a Swordfish.
30:55 Oh, my gosh. Did that guy just try to GLORIOUS NIPPON STEEL you?
"a turnfighter the stuka is not"
actually its quite good at turning due to its stall speed thats basically slower than walking, just ... dont pull up, simply turn
30:07 The square shape and that skull and cross-bombs makes me think of Captain Harlock's ship the Arcadia (Well, the movie and Space train cameo version not the original blue one.)
I would have gone with Porco Rosso "air pirates" :))
All these Italian jokes lmao
Very tiny bit of.. ironic WW2 history.. I am both related to people who bombed Pearl Harbor.... As well as to people both in one of the areas hit by a nuclear weapon, and the pilot of said plane that dropped both the bombs.. I have probably one of the more stranger families thinking about it... German, Japanese, Apache, and Irish... The majority of the men in my family have been part of some military or clan... What a world right? ( No joke I have probably family on both sides of a lot of conflicts of soo much wars its not even funny... Not all where soldiers, some where scientists but most where soldiers. )
That just means you probably have very healthy genetics ... because the british pakistani community mostly marries within the family and has a 13 times higher chance of having disabled children, but with your spread-out heritage your genetics should produce super babies!
@@Muck006 Yea I think the only real genetic anomalies in my family tree is the fact that twins are almost always going to happen it seems every other generation. That and a decent portion of the men in my family have a thicker bone chest plate that makes it impossible to get proper X-rays there lol. I at least do not know of a single member in my family, or any member my brother has told me when hes done some heavy research into our family.. That has anyone with a genetic defect. Though I am sure there probably is in some group I am distantly related to.
Oh yea.. Another odd WW2 fact..It was Italy that basically gave the side they where part of the name "The Axis". Despite how much their allies did not want that to be a thing... Something that made a very easy, and clear name to use for that side of the war by other nations, allowing the rest to simply call themselves "The Allies".
( Mussolini thought it was a cool sounding name and had said it a few times, something he actually was asked to stop doing so but by that point it was a bit too late. Since everyone started calling their side by that at said point. )
.. If I am annoying anyone with this sort of thing I will stop. I love history and, love those odd facts that tend to sadly get forgotten.
@@UndyingZombie I wouldn't mind hearing a bit more.
you've probably got a bit of genghis khan in there too, but who doesn't?
The RE 2000 "squint and it sort of looks like" a P-47... well, the team that designed it "took inspiration from" the P-35, which is the P-47s granddaddy, basically, so...
I'd like to rate this a solid, oh I don't know, 6 out of 9, needs more Belkan witchcraft.
Kudos to editor for the Hell March clip
This was the perfect video to watch on my tablet, while boiling pasta for Mac & cheese... 🤣
SWORDFISH, SWORDFISH, SWORDFISH, SWORDFISH.
They say the Davions are still using them.
Probably a good vehicle to "make balls grow big"!
Evening gents! Just came over from the Courtesy Flush
Me too.
I just started playing War Thunder again and then Tex, of all the people out there, posts this video. **That's ah spicy meatah ball.**
also do tanks next if you feel up to it. It's basically MWO without the stompy bots, but with a lot more smoke rounds and drifting.
The best part of Tex playing War Thunder are the faces on his planes.
I'll be honest, these folk playin' war thunder is probably one of my favorite things they've done

MY MAN!
How can you tell a mail plane apart from other planes? By the balls hanging underneath!
Is the Swordfish an airplane, or some kinda weird armored car that actually has no armor?
its a meme plane, capable of anything, no matter how stupid or suicidal :D
armored car? it's a tent. with a propeller.
Its a biplane torpedo bomber, that was obsolete at launch and yet, somehow, it killed the Bismarck by wrecking its steering gear and letting a full Royal Navy battlegroup catch up with it
the slowest fish according to google the sword fish should be renamed the DWARF SEAHORSE
Im glad this video is back
the line of the swordfish beating the stuka had me in tears.

"PASTA FORCE" I love it, I use to say Italian planes just shot out pasta cuz they never took down anything.
Yay BPL footage!

Tex you were flying a boat... land in the river
Italian ships are pretty.
Damn, pretty brave of Tex to fly as Pasta Squadron Leader.
I didn’t expect to see you all playing war thunder nice
I mean technically the 162 had three settings:
On
Off
Cook and explode
God has smiled down upon us this day. let us praise his glory for tex is finally playing warthunder. yes...yes.
Is this what world of warplanes warped into? Might try this out if it's good

I would love to see more of your crews escapades in warthunder.
MORE DAGGERFALL WITH THE EDITOR PLEASE!
Also, this video was very good.
"Upsetti-spaghetti" lmao! I am gonna steal that!
The crumpy spaget squadron
Why did they name it after the fastest fish? Well, that's because the Swordfish and the Swordfish do basically the same top speed.....
I grinded up the Italian line to the G.55 and Re.2005. Fantastic planes, fun to fly. I don't fly them that often though because they cost more than most jets to repair!
You know, your P-47 comparison at 20:30 is very apt. It turns out that the Re.2000 was heavily based on the P-35, one of the P-47's predecessors.
A valiant try with the Stuka. Havent played WT in forever. Too bad the Stuka doesn't have the underwing cannons... Edit for pure Stalinium plane.
There is a stuka that does have the underwing cannons.

Huh, that sounds like someone i know as Indigo playing with you. I wonder if that's her.
Since I am not in the BPL, I had a round where I nearly had an ace taking down a mess of messerschmitts in a swordfish.
There was an ad for car tyres back in the 80s/90s ... and it had the slogan:
*_"POWER is nothing without CONTROL"_*
which applies to most situations.

When are rob and Tuch gonna do more Two Worlds? Do we have to wait for next christmas?

Remember that the swordfish was state of the art in ww1, but Britain still believed in big ships and big guns, and did not believe in aircraft carriers as much as America and Japan did.
You shouldn't edit only a small part of hell march into the video. Now I have to listen to all 3 version of it.
I would love to see more of this
This was a really fun video i do enjoy some War Thunder fuckery
8 minutes in and I’m disappointed at the lack teleporter guy references.

Real-time slo-mo!
Next time make an entire squadron of swordfish!
i would like to see some more sprocket game play in the future please thankyou
Tex shit talking is like fine italian pizza grease.
Delicious aged pizza grease... Mhmm...
The chance of terrain kill is high in this one.
the Re 2k is not a p37, its a buffalo. Its designed by the smae guy, and is basically the same plane.
War thunder, nice
An O'h gawd! comment.
The game that is almost fun.
Black Pants Legion in DCS when?
Can you play this with a joystick? I bought a HOTAS specifically for MW5, only to discover that basically no games are built to use joysticks anymore. It makes me sad and confused.
Yes, but prepare for the grind of your life unless you are willing to put some cash into it. The game engine is decent, some plane models are "strange" (ie some russian bias seems to seep through) and experienced players usually hand your ass before you manage to get to altitude or do anything for that matter.
Will there ever be another Tex Talks Battletech? :(
So does Darren glitch out if you mention Market Garden?
Too bad we only have the "Tex footage" and not the other stuff.
Sent you a message on discord tex.
Great post as always lol
Wage War Gentlemen!!!!!
@"the editor"
Maybe you should NOT listen to techno while trying to fly a plane?
There is a video by "Mentour Pilot" about "how to land a passenger plane as a passenger" ... and it is a nicely explained video to keep "just in case".
Anyone watching just know that the Swordfish is winning 🤣🤣🤣
Hey Tex, I don't want to sound like an impatient irving but I am trying to ascertain the current recruiting status of the BPL, I had submitted my application I believe around five months ago and have not heard anything back as of yet, my initial plan was to re-submit my application as I thought maybe it got lost somewhere but I was unable to do so, I apologize profusely if this is annoying but I have been looking outside in on the BPL through your channel for years now and it appears to me as a group I would very much like to be a part of with the intent of hopefully making many new friends to play vidya and tabletop with.
This is why we're banned from argo
Where tanks
