So, just as a datapoint, the I6 that you grabbed is actually quite close to a late-1960s Pontiac OHC I6 engine. The valve cover and headers are quite distinctive. (And, in 1968 and 1969, it was a 4.1L.) Personally, I liked having the 200cid Barra-predecessor engine in my '65 Mustang because the weight balance was vastly better than the balance with a V8. oh, did you correct him with, "um actually" haha
@@fillman86 I nearly wrapped it round a power pole. 4.0 turbo. Bonkers thing.
@@geemcd the turbo caught you off guard huh? They can be quite evil sometimes
thumbnail reminds me of westen champlins mustang
had to look it up, and you're kind of right :) I might check out videos on it one day
@@fillman86 Yeah, westen is a wild one.
I really wanted to replicate Audi's Dakar Electric (but kinda hybrid-ish?) Vehicle and use two of 'insert-one-of-the-new-offroad-vehicles-with-an-independent-setup''s suspensions, both front and rear. 😈
hmmm that's an intriguing idea, I'll add that to the list :)
we get 700km on 1 tank in our fg xr6 turbo
yeah, that's horrible haha but it's still better than what I'd get in my BA non-turbo
Intech made a v8 too, all aluminum made by fiat, for lincoln in 93
interesting, tbh I don't know much about intech, other than the i6 that became the barra, even though I've had a few in the past
Lol the barra v8 is pretty good lol
nah, the 3 valve was so mid that there's almost no examples of them on the road.. it was an odd choice
ah, amazing
now we need a rb30 😁
(also the turbo in the d-series is only available for the diesel engine)
yeah, the turbo is pretty chungus, and I wish I knew how the turbo would have really behaved on this vehicle
Hey sir, have you ever heard of the Mercedes Accelo? Its a semi truck with a turbodiesel straight five, it is very unique and i would love to see you doing something with its engine.
just looks like a pretty generic vehicle to me?
@@fillman86 dunno, is it? It's the only 5 cylinder diesel at my country at least
Love everything about! Besides the charge pipe….
haha have you seen the intake pipes of the barra? they run right over the top of the valve cover.... for no good reason!! I'm glad you liked the video though :)
why do i feel like the closed caption should just be "manic aussie laughter"
mwahaha
@@fillman86 aye, at least its not manic german laughter, cus then it would just be meet the medic all over again
so there is a actual barra for the d series and now theres a ba/fg mod with there own barras
People give the Too much hype to ford's "reliability," I do like the Pushrod 6's in the XF's tho. Very easy to tune /work on.
the reliability is probably the best part, but no one really seems to give much credence to it, and only think about the power you can make from it. But the fuel usage is probably worse than the boss260 :/
@@fillman86 🤣 my work Ute has a gas Barra. 15l/100km.
@@magnaveradaboi yeah, my BA has one, and on a good day it'll do 9L/100km, but only if you're cruising at speed
It's the positive thing of using caveman technology, a caveman can fix it XD
Chevy made their own version of the Barra and it was in the 2002-2009 Chevy Trail Blazed
yeah, people have been telling me about it haha
My brothers 15 and bought a ba falcon he’s trying to put stacks on it 😂😂
prison time worthy!! :P
Would you consider taking the semi engine from the T-Series, and putting it in one of the cars?

You inspired me to make a 5 speed auto transmission for vivace
and i actually made it work
congrats.... but who goes out of there way to get an auto in a game? XD
I’m trying to put this in the legran it’s my first time tho at 2:50 there is a file that says unpacked where does that go?
if you have any mods, you can go into the mods manager, and unpack one of them. This will automatically create the unpacked folder. Alternatively you can create the unpacked folder in your mods folder, and make your mod in there (make sure to have the correct folder structure)
what's the background music? it seems very calming
Barra in my 2006 territory 6spd auto I got 820kms out of full tank driving like a tight arse at night outback NSW... 75 - 80 km/h a fraction above and below 1500 revs lol
yeah and for the amount of power you feel, it's not great numbers for highway cruising. It was moderate back in the day though
that 4.1 engine looks like the amc 242 more than a barra (regardless they’re very similar)
yeah, I think this engine here is pushrod haha
@@fillman86 yea it looks exactly like the engine in my partner’s 1980s Jeep
i woulda made the turbo hit at 800 rpm but other than that i love this shit
There is a barra mod in beamng I’m not sure if it is public though
the one with automation engines? I have made the barra in there before, I wanted to do something a little more fun :)
wgats the name of the map?
nvm i just found the spot in the video where you say lol
love how there isnt an engine sound its all just turbo whistle
haha the large turbo does tend to drown the rest out a bit :P
My old Au Falcon would do almost 900ks to a tank not a Barra but they can't that bad on fuel I know the Territory AWD were bad on fuel
that's most likely at cruising, you put any kind of slow traffic in there, and it'll get much worse. Also that is not good mileage still for an 80L tank (I think the tanks were actually bigger though)
Put the barra in the mazza
haha maybe not quite the body for it XD
@@fillman86 aww :c
i love this great work !
Thanks 😊
I wonder if Fillman would benefit from some Regex knowledge.
I googled it, and I get a thing called "regular expression"?
do you have tutorials that make sense unlike other channels on how to engine swap?
sure, like this -

haha it gets easier the more you do it :)
what map is this? i love it
in the description lol
this mod is awesome i made a 2k hp drag car out of it lol
haha nice
What map are you using?
in the description :)
The Seppoes never used this engine.
americans? yeah, they made the origin of this engine in the 60s, but stopped in the 79s i think, but it just kept getting iterated on until the barra
@@fillman86 Not really, no. Bore centres are about the same, but that's about it. Apart from that, clean sheet of paper design.
@@hoilst265 not really, it was the tiny engine to start, and it became the engine of theseus basically lol
can you make me a wheel and tire mod for wider wheels and streatched tires?? there used to be one years ago but cant seem to find one. maybe even more camber for some of the cars
hry fill for somereason my barra engine doesnt come up in the swap help needed XD
Welp now I’m going on the mod manager
haha it'll be there once it's approved
Would it be possible to make a car trailer in Automation?
you mean like the time I made the blue wonder? ruclips.net/video/IDvzUKblmMA/видео.html
or like the time I made a trailor?
ruclips.net/video/VR8CYxNgo0w/видео.html
i cant find the mod in repository page
hasn't been approved yet :/ it'll take a day or 2
Your making me an L67😂
The d series has a turbo its on the diesel motors not the gas v8s, also the scintilla diesel has a good turbo with a hater pipe
I never said the petrol v8s did?
no way this guy just called the barra mid. 2 cylinders less and its still beating ls's
with a turbo, how about an ls with a turbo?
@@fillman86 u underestimate the 4litre barra
@@hsllama haha i have had multiple, I estimate it correctly lol
It goes from a single cam to a twin cam and different rocker gears
It’s a sohc 6 and I’m a proud owner of an efi one lol
nice, I've been around the intech, but I've only ever driven barra engines personally
Lethargic? Mines an 05 with 600.000km and still has almost stock power 208hp 372nm 🤷
The modern Barras are the modern 2jz/rb25
The only reason why the barra is so loved cus of the tunning potential
other engines are sooo much easier to work with, like the 2j, any RB or SR, any LS, and that's not to mention that VW are easier to get high performance parts for
@crispyshaman4937: That's pretty funny, since up here in the states the only head we got on that engine was the one with the intake manifold cast integral with the head, and it's hard to do anything with that! I have seen a kit where you cut holes in the intake manifold and braze on a couple of additional carburetor mounts, but that's pretty extreme -- especially for what you get from it.
what is the map that he used
that would be mount coot tha
