Laptop Hibernates On Its Own... Yes, You Can Fix It

- This laptop is hibernating immediately after it boots up. Right after I log in, the computer hibernates or goes to sleep. The computer goes to sleep right after I log in. Don't worry I got you, it is a simple fix but could be 2 parts.
The laptop is reading the battery wrong and is putting the computer into hibernation based on your power settings.
The other issue could be a corrupt sector on your hard drive. Run a chkdsk /r /f in an elevated command prompt, then reboot. After that is done run a sfc /scannow in an elevated command prompt. If you are still getting messages about a corrupt hard drive then you will need to get yourself a new one.

The power settings was already set to “do nothing”. But if I ever run into this problem on a family member or friends laptop. I will keep this video memorized!

I found that my laptop hibernates by its own because of inactivity for a specific time. To turn it off go to Control Panel=>Power Options=>Change Plan Settings=>Change advanced power settings=>Sleep=>Hibernate after=>Set it to 0.

Coz it sets to 0 on battery, as soon as power supply goes off It will went to hibernate straight away . I have set it to 180 mins i.e. 3hrs in battery and never in plugged in

mine is from "Critical Battery Action" and I can only choose either Hibernate or Shutdown. also checkdisk didn't worked either.

You should be able to right click the battery icon 9n the task bar and access power options from the prompt afterwards

Please help! When i go to hybernate I want it to come back on with a mouse movement or keyboard, non work. Only thing that works is power key which is a pain and on the side of laptop.

Hello Dear , i am facing an issue with my dell inspiron 15 that it goes to hibernate or sleep suddenly while i am doing some work. while system specs are good too it is i7 , 7th gen, with 16gb ram. previously it was working good but i have installed a new window and this problem is occouring. i was using multple android studio, visual studio and sql server database project at the same time but now if i just open one instance of android studio the cooling fan works with full of noise and it goes either sleep or hibernate. pls guide how to resolve it
