I have a battery problem on my laptop, my laptop battery is dead
So, when I run my laptop, I get the following warning:
Your battery has experienced permanent failure and needs to be replaced.
Strike the F1 key to continue, F2 to run the setup utility.
Anyway, you may don't get a warning like this, but if your laptop locking automatically, and keeps auto shutdown, you can try this solution, to stop the laptop automatically locking.
Steps in Tutorial to stop laptop locking automatically:
Step 1. Go to battery settings
And turn off the Battery saver option.
Step 2. Change laptop Power options
To keep the laptop running and avoid automatically locking, better to switch it in safe mode.
Start Windows in safe mode:
Press and hold the Shift key on the keyboard and then restart the computer
Continue to hold down the Shift key, until the blue screen (with the Choose an option) appears. Click Troubleshoot, Go to Advanced Options, and then Startup Settings, Click the Restart button.
Strike 4 on your keyboard, to boot Windows in safe mode.
Open Control Panel, Go to Power Options, and click on choose when to turn off the display, Set Turn off the display to Never.
Then click on Change advanced power settings, Expand Hard disk, and set 0 minutes for Turn off hard disk, Click Apply to save changes
Then scroll down and find PCI Express, expand it, Expand Link State power management, and set it to off, then click Apply and OK to save changes.
Step 3 to stop laptop locking automatically we have to disable Microsoft ACPI-compliant control method battery, driver.
Go to computer management, Click on Device Manager, Find and expand Batteries
Right-click on Microsoft ACPI-compliant control method battery driver and select disable device, Click yes to save changes.
If you see 2 battery drivers with the same name (Microsoft ACPI-compliant control method battery) disable both of them.
Restart your computer to run it to normal mode.
All steps are done, hope it helps you to fix Laptop locking automatically or the Laptop auto shutdown problem.

Yo, this video was a huge help for me. Spent the last two days trying to figure out how to fix my issue (was so bad I couldn't get past sign-in screen before it would start locking, same if I tried to restart, it would just lock or hibernate). I'm also thankful you typed out the instructions in the video description as I follow written instructions much better than audio. how do you do it when your laptop doesn’t get past the signing in screen? genuine question because mine’s same 🥲🥲 it usually takes 2-3 hours before it works again by itself which is really annoying in the middle of the work day

hmmm. It helped indeed, but disabled ACPI battery driver is not a good option to fix this, because it will no longer show the battery icon and also will consume a lot more of your battery.... sadly I tried everything else, but then I realized the only thing that really helps is to install new windows 10 and disable updates :(

That's ok because you disable the battery driver, so you can not see battery %

Yes, I can help you, you disabled battery driver so that's why you can not see it, so go back to the computer manager and enable it back

@@darksin7578 I tried it. It shutdowns automatically. Just don't enable it. hehe Just use your charger and go to a shop to replace the defective battery.
This also works for games?means whenever I play game it run 10-15 minutes smoothly after it automatically locking laptop and shut down. Will this method work that you provide??

How do you get the computer to turn on when it is locked.
The third step didnt work on me bc my hdmi port stopped working after that and I had to change it back to how it used to be
