Simply excellent. Clear, detailed, unambiguous; both technically and conceptually superb.
This film has only the tuition parts of a 4-hour seminar. The "getting on with it" is edited out. :) We have "action" videos if they are more to your taste. This one is for student revision, but we offer it publicly in the hope it will be useful.
The attacks are the same idealised syllabus attacks we all use for studying the kata. The "over ukemi" is just for studying balance as far as we can take it.
We hope this covers your martial-concerns. Be assured Phil is very martially competent. :)
Very nice indeed .... Hope more of these videos will posted.
Very nice, thank you.
great stuff
Nice work..!
good work
You are doing shiho nage using gyaku way...
Aikikai. :)
Yes I've heard that he is, love to see some of his" competence" though if you can direct me to the videos of his competence.... Like does he do alive grappling as we do in Shodokan for instance? .... Most aikikai say its not allowed FFS!! As O Sensei didn't like competition so they all call us heretics.... Well I love being a heretic as we are at least honest with what we can and cannot do....X
As always with aikikai aikido and people, too much yadda yadda and not enough DOing !!!! FFS get on with it !!!!! I knew this at 5th kyu level!!! Try doing it from real attacks other than the standard silly attacks and over ukemi that you do and things will change rapidly in your aikido.... Aikido has to and must evolve and not get stuck in the past. It's dying already as a "martial art"and has just become a health system for those who cant cope with reality. get real please
