One of Amol's great innovations is asking players if they had a good time at the end of each match, putting them at ease after a surely tense half hour of quizzing.
@@emmapeel829 just to note that's a very kind comment. Very outstandingly lovely of you. I'm struggling to accept this new presenter, and your kind remark make me feel like a stick in the mud. I can't see the endearing perspicacity of academic Bamber very evidenced, but I must try harder to be kind to him, I think. I only managed to watch tonight by mentally transposing Paxmans voice over Amols and did quite well with the answers due, in part to that. Your comment made me feel very mean spirited in doing that. I will try harder. Thank you. In this World kindness is ALL important.
@@wildandbarefoot It's very kind of you to say. You may just need time to get used to him. I was a little apprehensive but I find him to be most endearing and utterly sweet during his closing comments to the teams. Paxman could be a bit of a dragon sometimes so this is a breath of fresh air to the show in my humble opinion. You'll come around. 😇
Totally agree. He had big shoes to fill. I am old enough to remember Paxman taking over from Bamber and many people didn't like Jeremy at first. I myself started out neutral with Amal but I am liking him more and more. Did he really say "f..ked up" at the end? 😃@@emmapeel829Your anchor name is my hero!
@@wildandbarefoot Very sorry, there's nothing 'unkind' about having to get used to a new presenter who is different from his predecessor, whom one liked. It's perfectly natural and not in the least bit mean, not least because he doesn't know you exist. I find the new quizmaster pleasant enough but somewhat dull, which is something of a change, but then I really liked Mr Paxman's mix of avuncularism and banter.
Thanks Pumpkin! Really like Amol’s general demeanour, he’s so affable and it’s lovely that he asks if the teams had fun. It is ultimately a game after all
Great match! The winners were on fire! Such a nice balance to their team. Everyone was in top form. Congrats and thanks CosmicPumpkin for bringing us our little bit of Monday joy!!
First off, thanks CosmicPumpkin! An entertaining match, that saw the winning team creep inexorably ahead then put the pedal to the metal. They basically steamrollered their opponents. Will be a force to be reckoned with going forward. Great effort by both teams, and my best to each indiviual.
Very impressive from the winners, with the buzzing again equally spread - let's see if it can be replicated in the next round - could be one to watch. We're seeing consistently higher-scoring games, especially in comparison to last year; currently, after 7 games the average overall game score comes to roughly 206-141, versus 179-114 by this point last year. If nothing else I really do like that Amol Rajan has been able to speed things up a bit - should make things much more exciting further down the line :).
Thanks CosmicPumpkin, appreciate the uploads. Amols hands have finally settled down, so no longer a distraction! He's doing well. The questions seem a bit easier at times......
As an American, I am embarrassed that a Scotsman beat me on a baseball question [Moneyball]. But considering his performance on the German football bonus, he definitely knows sports.
Thanks again CosmicPumpkin. I found this nearly a year late! But I get to watch a new game every night. This had tougher questions. I only got 2 no-answers - about poet for Revere and the Caine movie.
A gentler, more relaxed style. Re: whether they had a good time, they can hardly say NO. He might consider wishing them a good time at the beginning. Some seem very tense and nervous.
Watched this at my grandma's, thought-love Reid's hair, now finding a close up to screenshot and show my barber. First gender affirming haircut, hope it goes well.
All male captains and not a 'contestant of colour' anywhere to be seen? It's like watching an episode from 5 years ago! Is Amol Rajan getting smaller week by week or is the chair getting bigger?

I really like his style. More Bamber, less Jeremy. Nice.

I could listen to Gault and MacDowall speak all day. May not understand everything but still like to hear.
I love their accents!
😂👍🏴
Thanks so much. My Monday night treat here in France!
Same here in Kentucky. I get my dinner ready and enjoy both at the same time. Thanks for uploading.
The very same for me !

Thank you so much , Cosmic Pumpkin .

"The Italian Job" LOL.
@@fidomusic Starring Michael Caine as Alfie Italian.
I like the new host very much. More civil and relaxed but still keeps things rolling.
Thank you, Cosmic Pumpkin! Your efforts are greatly appreciated!

i feel like the questions have also been slightly easier, i knew more of them than usual
Thank you for the upload! That was an amazing performance by the winning team. Such good teamwork!
Thanks CosmicPumpkin, appreciate the uploads.

The questions seem a bit easier at times......
A lot easier and not really of university standard this week.
Thank you CP!
Thanks so much for uploading this 😭 Yates is my baby cousin and I live abroad so I'm not able to access BBC iplayer. Go Bryony ✊️✊️✊️💪💪💪
Thanks, CP!
Thanks you for posting Cosmic from a UC fan living in Japan. Good to see the quality of the uploads has improved 🙂
UEA is a very strong team, no weak members.
As an American, I am embarrassed that a Scotsman beat me on a baseball question [Moneyball]. But considering his performance on the German football bonus, he definitely knows sports.
It has also become a widely used term within European football as well
Thanks again CosmicPumpkin. I found this nearly a year late! But I get to watch a new game every night.

MF DOOM makes an appearance. Sensational, haha.
Thank you.
Don’t ask me why but I feel like there’s a discount conditioner warehouse not far from the UEA campus
Winning team have obvious strengths, but need to improve on the bonus conversion rate a bit. Seem like early frontrunners.
Thanks very much.
Thank you
Finally, being a graphic designer and teaching typography has helped me get questions right at UC 😂
Who would have thought Michael Jackson attended UEA 😮

A lot of Frank Lloyd Wright questions this season
🙏🙏
It’s odd that he’s studying medicine but couldn’t do the parts of a nephron question
Gotta love the BBC's determination to pronounce American names however the hell they please. (Bob "THEEL," not "THEELUH")
Cult can be an adjective.
UC has a cult following?
Love the woke questions, absolutely love it.
4 women vs 4 men
