How do you start if you don't have clients in this field you want to create a l&d program for, create an ideal persona and just try it out? Just curious...

Do you mean as a freelancer or as an in-house L&D?

@@TheLnDAcademy I mean as somebody who would like to build a business and create online courses around leadership skills, for example - future of work, power skills, how to find your purpose, how to be a great leader etc.. I have a lot of knowledge around this but I didn't build my network to sell it too, since I was working as a freelancer..

Got ya! To be fair, the answer is in the question. 😀 Your network is what really helps you stand out.
The question you should be asking is how do I build a network or community that will find value in what I can offer. And then you can follow the same steps we mention in our marketing videos and blogs (www.thelndacademy.com/post/7-steps-to-successfully-market-your-learning-development-program).

@@TheLnDAcademy but isnt it better I create a 'starter' service or course first for my ideal persona and later adjust it/iterate it when I have more information when I go out there? Im having a hard time to build an audience first if you don't have anything to sell yet, perhaps you understand what I mean now... I guess it's easier for me this way, otherwise how can I build an audience if I don't have anything to sell? Chicken egg problem... 🙄🐔🥚🍳

Well… that’s one way of doing it but it sounds like doing double the work. Personally, I find it very difficult to design any learning experiences without knowing who the target audience is. But may be your way will work for you. Give it a try ☺️
