- hi hello my hand is cramping up take my fifth hollow knight gijinka animatic this time heres pk radiance cyberbullying (gone wrong) (2 gods FUSE at 3am???) and this is my longest one yet. its kinda slow till around the 1 minute mark so strap in. honestly i was considering just cutting the first part but we do a little buildup i guess
also we're very much in au territory now so heres an explanation as well as some clarifications: this is an au where the pale king takes hollow’s place as a vessel for the radiance either after 1. realising his child is in fact not empty or 2. not wanting to lose his child or a mix of the two. so in desperation right as hollow is sealed away pk scrambles on over to the black egg temple and focuses the infection into himself from hollow (how do the dreamers fit into this. No clue, i assume he got there just in time before they went sleepy LMFAO or hell. he broke the seals himself. wouldn’t that be fun)
and so this animatic is pk being overtaken by the radiance and merging with her (think of this animatic as a very long fucked up steven universe fusion dance). also the section of him running with hollow in his arms in the city isn’t like. really happening it’s just him like “wow everyone’s gonna think i’m fucking insane if i show up with the vessel who’s supposed to be sealed away huh” pk cannot physically carry hollow so HAHA he sure can dream
it all takes place within the black egg temple And in the dream realm/pks head as the infection takes hold of him. this is likely incoherent but that’s ok. i’m aware this is ooc for pk but let’s all pretend he cared just a little more. and this isnt like a Pk Redemption Piece, infected pk just sounded like a rly fun idea so here we are (looking directly at briar for sparking the idea in me accidentally. You)
also dont look at me like that. i know the polls wanted more hollow and ghost but democracy is a lie and ill do what i want (i jest. ill make more content around them at some point). thank u guys for ur continued support im gonna go collapse. enjoy this mess

My calculations were correct, A good ending for Radi often results in a bad one for the pale king.

3:21 is such a heartbreaking thing to see, the way that pk is so genuinely saddened to see hk be overtaken by the infection. Pk, despite his terrible parenting, cares about his child.
This made me think that the pale king intentionally disappeared so to make him not infected, and therefore the radiance isn't ruling all of hallownest.

late reply but u have no idea how much of a pain in the ass it was to do this HAHAHA to not have his eyes reveal till then. had to think of creative ways to obscure his eyes and face other than just. shots of him with his eyes closed. i’m glad it paid off LMAOO
with the amount of times radi has so easily de-crowned pk in your animatics you'd think that thing would fall off at the slightest breeze LMAO /j

The Pale King is overtaken by the Infection and becomes the Bright King, with the White Lady and the rest of Hallownest following close behind. The kingdom returns to a feral yet empty land as the Moth Tribe goes extinct and the minds of bugs everywhere are erased.

I really liked the AU lore. Infected PK is a fun idea, and very ironic since he kinda became what he wanted to destroy. Does Hollow still get possessed by Radiance or do they just become king now? Maybe instead of The Hollow Knight, they become The Hollow King-

and with a song that has been a crucial part of my childhood??? (aka this was used in another animation i watched when i was young so its ingrained in me)
at 2:30, i made an inhuman noise probably because i am just So in love with your radiance design. literally just a bundle of wings coming out to ruin your day or life in pk's case. and also his kingdom
hoowee and the gust of wind (im assuming from radi opening all her wings, or maybe she just has incredible force idk) blowing away pk's gown(?) was very nicely animated!! pk is now just bare, no special garments to mark his status as a king, maybe even looking a little weak even is a very nice touch to me. pk is almost powerless against radi and it shows
also you went incredibly insane with the expressions in this one??? the little subtle animations really add to them as well golly gee
some parts i liked in particular:
radi speaking starting at 1:50
pk looking a little distraught at 2:00
radi's face from being threatened but looking more amused than afraid at 2:16
pk's face becoming more intense when he says death at 3:04
pk's face when he wails at 3:21???? i thought that was Especially good
pk's expression at attempting threaten radi again at 3:46 Also super good

plus the light rays eventually not going away either, signalling the fact radi is almost done taking over/has taken over, mmMMmm
PLUS WHEN RETURNING TO THE REAL WORLD, PK'S WHITE LIGHT RAYS BECOMING YELLOW FOR RADIANCE?????????? GOD. also absolutely messed up pk now has mini face wings because radi fused with him

The locomotion in the room far away had stopped as the shadow began to come to.
They began to stand up And could sense the presence of the pale king in a room nearby.
Suddenly, The pale king's voice erupted, Though they noticed his voice seemed.. off.
"Vessel! The radiance has been satiated, Your purpose of purity is complete, you may be my child now."
It was almost too good to be true.
Maybe normally, they would have lingered on the thought for a while.
But something about the room made them feel light-headed and suggestive.
"Oh, And please, Put down your nail first, I promise to protect you."
The sudden echo from the pale king's voice shocked the vessel even in their mentally hindered state, But they still laid down the weapon and was nearing the entrance of the chamber the pale king's voice seemed to originate from.
"Oh, And now that you are my child, Do you want me to hug you?"
The pure vessel considered giving some kind of answer.
But they wouldn't
Because as soon as they entered the room, Their every movement ceased completely and the fog beginning to form in their mind was thickening rapidly.
A towering, white figure stood in the place of the pale king.
With orange eyes equivalent to the radiance's visage, but slightly brighter.
3 grand horns in front, numerous scattering the back of her head.
Her once 8 wings had changed to a set of 10.
And most importantly, They were speaking in a completely accurate copy of the pale king's voice, if it wasn't for the echoing factor that had set in the closer they got.
They were standing mere inches away from her.
The pale king had been devoured, His body consumed and his mind imprisoned, Maybe for good.
Despite the despair of this situation, the seraphim only seemed happier than ever, Like from her perspective, the pale king deserved to be eaten up.
She just smiled, looking down at the vessel in a manner akin to the way a mother might look at her child, if said mother was a primordial goddess and the child had never wanted this from the start.
She crossed her arms, as if offended slightly by their silence as their brain was turning into sludge from the seraphim's light squirming into their brain.
"Well? what about that hug?"

At 0:48 the pale Kings reflection for about half a second has a flicker of an eye shown it's a really small detail but it hints at the radius coming and The Pale King change into the false King

I don't even know what hollow knight is about, but I clicked on the video because the art looked good, and boy did it deliver! Amazing drawings, inking, the way that slowly the main character's (? eyes slowly become golden, everything is beautiful!! Kinda wish I got into hollow knight
They're bugs in the original but I highly recommend the game. It's only like $15 on Steam. It's a very emotional and beautiful game, though my friend and I like to refer to it as "Dark Souls Lite" due to its difficulty level.

Great animation! All attention to the details is really impressive. And this song from Jekyll and Hyde makes this work perfect.
"Alive" from Jekyll and Hyde also fits Radiance, I think? Maybe the moment when someone remembers her after she was forgotten/or in the beginning of the infection, when she ?wakes up? and realises that she can...do something, make others worship her again, maybe being in minds of other bugs and wandering around in their bodies, impressed by her power after she was almost dead just recently.
