After contact is lost with a Mining Ship, the "Altman", UEMC (United Earth Mining Corporation) send a repair team to fix the communication issues. After communication is lost with the repair team, the UNSC decide that it's time to send in one of their own...

9 years later, and I can’t stop coming back to this awesome horror machinima, and the run to the escape pods with MW2 rangers music is just brilliant. Great job.
Yes, it was heavily inspired by Dead Space and Ridley Scott's movie Alien (there's a bunch of references in there as well). The majority of the comments have been positive and to be honest not many people have noticed the similarities to Dead Space
when i think of horror halo machinimas i always think of this masterpiece!

Dead Space is one of my favorite franchises too! When I played through the original Dead Space the Necromorphs reminded me a lot of the Flood. I always thought that the Flood should have been scarier so I decided to give it a try.

I watched this again and I paused it at 13:01 and the surface pressure of the planet was 117.343. That's a funny little easter egg.

That's right! Dead Space was a huge inspiration when I was making this (the story is very similar). The infection is actually meant to be the Flood from the Halo games, but the Necromorphs are very similar. It's really cool when people recognize the references :)

Heavy metal 1981 (B17). 7. Alien 1979. 8. Dead space. 9. Leviathan 1989. 10. The thing 1982. 11. deepstar six. 12. deep rising. 13. Doom 2005. 14. The thing: aftermath. 15. Alien: isolation. 16. The thing 2 (fan film). 17. The faculty. Great work here, even though I was expecting more characters like other team with leader (like the ones from Halo 4 no signal, Halo reach area 616, and Halo Primordium); more survivors that is killing each other over survival as I also imaged music from alien 1979, mimic 1979, the thing 1982, leviathan 1989, The fly 1-2, & Heavy metal 1981 (B17). Great stuff, man.

Yes, Dead Space was one of my biggest inspirations when making this (even the name of the machinima is a Dead Space reference). Another big inspiration was the movie Alien.
Can't congratulate you enough, this was amazing. The jumpscares were incredible!
That's something that I wish I'd done differently. I'll elaborate on it more in the sequel as I have something cool in mind that'll clear up a lot of the story. Anyway, both ships are destroyed at the end.

Because it's a lot easier when you only have one character to deal with.
So let me see if I've got these two things right:
1 - The monster that Michaelson launched into space was picked up by the ship Jessica was part of and because he couldn't warn them in time. The creature escaped and infected the whole crew, creating another outbreak for the UNSC to deal with.
2 - Michaelson was scratched by the Alien (either when it ambushed him at the shuttle or at the control panel) and in the five years since he escaped, he turned. He crash landed on another world that looks like it was colonised (if the other marines were a hint) and since the military are idiots, they'll release Michaelson and he'll probably infect the whole planet.
(Also, just wanna congratulate you on this. Other than Entity, this is the only Halo: Reach machinima that made me sh*t myself, and then I watched the sequel and didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Keep up the good work!)
Thanks! Yes, I've played both the original Homeworld and Homeworld 2 (those background sounds are from Homeworld 2). It's nice to see someone that else has played them!
This is done so well, especially with the soundtrack as it really creates scary atmosphere, and then the ending with that, heroism feel.
Fantastic job! You really nailed the horror element of the movie, compared to most people's work. The ending after the credits just made it even more eerie, kudos to you!

This was a very good machinima, there were a few things I would have done differently but overall it came out much better then anything I could make. Well done.
This was VERY good. A great standalone in itself, good music, good pacing, good forge sets, and great camerawork. It fits in well with the universe Canon. I can't fault it. Will recommend this to my friends, certainly.
Alien is one of my faviorite films and i was amazed at the video itself so when i realized it was based of of alien that made this one of my faviorite machinimas ever. Great job man.
@Maceyoshiman If you hold a certain combination of buttons, your character's weapon will lower. If you aren't holding any grenades and you press the throw grenade button, your character will bring the weapon back up again. I just reversed the footage when I wanted him to lower the gun.

Yes, used Sony Vegas to edit the video and Photoshop for a few different things such as the life boat at the end.
Yeah a few other people have noticed that too (there's probably a few mistakes in my other videos). I'll have to make sure to check the text next time I make a video.

Mark VI Productions, This is one of the best Machinima's I've ever seen. It has a great story line, great acting, suspense, action, drama and camera movements. There were so many frightening parts in this; like when Nicholas wasn't in the pod and when you saw the body of Dr. Kleiner in a bloody room, but later he was gone. Good job, well done

That's right. I always wanted to see something similar to Dead Space in the Halo Universe so I took it into my own hands to make something similar. Dead Space was the biggest inspiration when I made this, along with the film "Alien"

Yes, well done! You're the first person to say that (I don't think many people here are Dead Space fans sadly). I was heavily inspired by Dead Space when I made this and a lot of the story elements are from Dead Space too (mining operation gone wrong, the escape pod getting picked up by the military etc.).
The music from LOZ Wind Waker in the background in my room is really pulling this movie today ;) Great job
BRILLIANT, the sequel will be good, ere is also a tip, the infection started on a planet that was once occupied by the military, it held a science facility which was testing alien artifacts, when it found a source that could have lead to the creation of man kind, when they opened somesort of container, the disease spread, the facility was in lockdon, but the infection escaped and turned the entire planet into a nest. The rest of the military classified the area and quarentined the sector, but the ship that found the planet only stumbled upon it and blah blah yeah, you know the rest xD just a suggestion :P

I'm not one to watch horror often. (Can't stand it, really) But this was amazingly well done! My favorite aspect of this video was the inclusion of what his camera sees. And in conjunction with the camera effect, his movements (especially around corners) was VERY natural.

That's something I considered doing for a while, but I didn't know if I should make it on Halo 3 or Reach. After seeing your comment I have decided that I'm going to make a prequel using Halo 3. I'm not going to make it right away, I'm thinking of making it a Halloween special, just like this was intended to be.

I was watching this at nighttime, and this really scared the shit out of me. It made the machinima a lot more horrifying! I have to say that this was very magnificent. Nice use of suspense!

When the "Elite" jumped onto the dude I freaked. Really well made. I wont lie, I wasn't sure if it would be good. Original story. Loved it!

Now this shit deserves a TON more likes and views than it currently has. FANTASTIC job man. That's an instant sub from me. This is actually a very good HORROR film. There was 3 moments which made me jump, like a proper movie/game should, not in a cheap way, but fucking good.
I like the story behind it all as well.
