I like the idea of Jarvis Cocker: the nerdy gangly physicality , the curator of Scott Walker etc.., the Six Music DJ and all round good bloke from the working class north. But his music has never touched me in anyway. Listening to this just makes me yearn for Frank Black's voice and the Pixies and their soulful and gritty rendition.
