    Finally someone who understands how batteries works. My ebike still going pretty well after 10 years of abuse. Made like 2000cycles and lost only 30% of its capacity. Should be dead long time ago, but lasted just because i dont charge it fully. Everyone should know this, especially people that own electric cars.

    I’m a retired Lockheed electrician. The stuff you say is pretty interesting. Don’t normally see people of your age that honestly have a brain so it’s riveting to see. Just wondering what your background is?

    Your description of the insecurities riding a scooter versus a bike are spot on for me. ✌️

    Pretty nice by scooter standards. I like the conformal coating on that motor controller, but it'll make any repair a nuisance.

    I got two battery packs that came in over charged once lol the same ones that keep crapping gout on me now. Get Better!

    That looks like a very good scooter. Give it a lithium iron phosphate battery and that will make a good scooter for commuting or every day errands 👍

    That's one concern I have with electric bikes and cars: Lion battery life.

      If you dont charge the lithium battery past 75%, it will last like 10x longer. Lithium ion degredation happens mostly when the battery is sitting fully charged

    Remember that 18650 lithium ion batteries have been around in laptops for 15 20 years. Fire happen from physical abuse leading to shorts, charging with the wrong charger and extreme over heating. All of what you said is correct,but I think you are a little over worried 🤔

      My point being, we don't concern ourselves with keeping our laptops under 100% or transporting our laptops while traveling... But I agree with shipping and long-term storage at 1/2

    • @RinoaL
      @RinoaL  20 дней назад

      You are forgetting that these aren't 18650s, they are pouch cells, also they are very low quality pouch cells. They can sometimes short from sudden impacts caused by shipping, and a battery at 50% has a far lower chance of deflegrating. I'm a professional battery technician so I know this stuff lol
      And maybe you don't concern yourself about your laptop battery, but I do. I limit my thinkpad to charge to 70%. That's a prime example of a reason why most people's laptops fail, is because the batteries are kept fully charged and the plates get corrupted.
