This scooter is classified as a seated scooter and packs a punch for its size. As soon as Hovsco contacted us, we were immediately interested and knew this scooter could potentially help us find better locations (hotspots) to fly our DJI Mini 4 Pro (and the Mini 2 drones of course).

Hahahab yea those gators are everywhere here. As long as they don’t traipse through our yard I’ll be happy. This scooter has been a lot of fun already that’s for sure.
Defs looking for an electric scooter to rip to work on thats less than 5 mins away from home visiting the parents or going to Musicfest.
Oh cool. Yea this may be a good one to check out. They also have one similar to this size that has pedals, too (just in case). lol. I don’t think it would make it to my parents house though. It’s 13 hours away drive time. Hahaha.

Over here in the "Top End" of Oz we have crocs, also known as "Snappy Geckos", or maybe "unprocessed Italian Shoes".
In the side window of my Super Roo Outback wagon (1996 Subaru) I have a "Wakabout" number plate showing.
You would have heard of the film "Crocodile Dundee". Well the pub's bar was actually shot in a country pub in central Queensland; hunderds of miles away from the film's locale.
Most of the action took place in Arnem Land; east of Darwin in Kakadu National Park. Precious to me as I spent 6 years in Darwin and the NT.
Over here I actually know of instances where people have been hunted by crocs. One such incident happened just a few dozen metres from a roadside tourist park along the Kakadu road near the East Alligator River (well the tourists of the day; ummm, pioneers hadn't yet come up with the word "crocodile").
It involved a 12 year old kid home from boarding school down in South Australia. His parents ran the tourist park.
He and his dog went one day to the concrete water-drain passing under the road to do a spot of fishing in that small creek.
They went back the next day, and as the lad got ready to clamber down the bank beside that 3 foot diameter pipe the dog 🦮 scampered down ahead of him. The dog vanished in a flash!;
An adult croc 🐊 fired out of that pipe and disappeared down the creek in an instant!. All within 3 seconds!!.

Holy crap man! Talk about a buzz kill. Was the dogs name buzz by any chance? We allegedly have some crocs here but the alligators way out number them. I’ve heard similar stories here about gators getting small dogs like that. Fortunately we don’t have a dog so I think we’ll be ok. It’s cool to see them out in the marsh like that but I do try to keep my distance. lol. Someone reminded me it’s breeding season. Yikes!!!

lol that’s a good point. I can attest that these don’t really handle any type of grade too well but I’m the flat land it’s great. Maybe I just need to lose some weight and it’ll work better on those hills. Haha
It seems to be strong enough. I just don't like the speedometer jumping the way it is. Another thing, the motor is in the back wheel most likely.

lol yea that speedometer looked awful in the camera, eh? It didn’t jump around like that in real life though. There were a couple clips shot with the iPhone and the display looked normal. I guess it’s a frame rate of the camera thing. Honestly this sucker is a good fit for someone in a flat area like us in Florida and it’s got plenty of power to move my fat butt around. The only issue I’ve found so far is it doesn’t do well at all on even the smallest incline. It struggles pretty good. lol. I think if I was seriously looking at this, I’d more consider the smaller bike they have listed right beside this scooter on their site that’s only $50 more. It has pedals so if you find it struggling on a small incline at least you can pedal harder. lol. This one if it don’t make it up the hill, you’re pushing it. Boooo!!!! Haha.
Hey Kevin come ride with me sometime if you like the joy of riding that little E-Bike, We got almost any kind of wildlife you can think of. But it;s breading season for gators.I have the DJI Mini 2SE. Come on over & lets fly our drones over the ocean. Have you gotten any videos of the rockets off or the launch of the rocket that lifted off today. I get all kinds of videos with my drone.
Oh cool! No I’ve not gotten any shots of the rockets launching. We are a bit too far north to really get anything good on film without a good zoom lens. My buddy Kelshaw has a heck of a lens on his camera and has gotten some really cool shots though. Unfortunately my drone cameras don’t compare. Hahaha. We’ve been down that way before though and really enjoyed the area. We’ve stayed at hotels in Melbourne and even Vero beach was were awesome. I don’t care what part of Florida you’re in though. Gators are crazy during breeding season. I wasn’t thinking about that. Hahaha.
Kevin, can this outrun a gator? Hahahaha, love your review. You could do a review on, "Can the Porto Max outrun a gator".

Better watch out, you may lose your "amateur" rating and become a "professional" reviewer. 😉 Looks like a pretty cool scooter, and the Hovsco dealer is right down the street from my brother-in-law, there in Diamond Bar, California. Anxious to see Dwight following you on that trail in your next video. But watch out for them gators! Hahaha Even though the display was blinking out of sync with your GoPro, it was bright enough to see it without you shading it. Good job Kev! 👍
Hahahab I don’t think my amateur rating is in any danger, Gary but thanks for the compliment. lol. This scooter is awesome, but I’d say it wouldn’t work too well where you are. It don’t really like inclines too much. Especially with this fat boy on it. Haha. I bet one of their big e-bikes would be awesome though! I’m still contemplating what the follow up video will be about but I guarantee I’ll be doing an active track test with Dwight and this scooter eventually. Great video! The gators you said they would leave you alone, but I don’t know. We have a few gators here around the Brazos river where people have I guess let them loose and they’ve got kind of big! Lol it’s not something you normally see in Waco, Texas. As far as the weight limit of the scooter items, 260 pounds is not enough. It be nice if it would allow more weight!! But it did look like a lot of fun!
Lol yea someone mentioned it’s breeding season and I wasn’t even thinking about that so maybe don’t listen to any of my advice. Hahaha. On a different note, I’ve seen some videos on this of some people over the weight limit riding these scooters and it worked out. Now, I can attest that they don’t climb hills very well though so that’s a bummer, but for where we are, so far it’s been pretty awesome. I’ve yet to kill the first battery charge so I need to ride it more. I need a vacation!!! Lol
OK, that one is pretty cool. Those look like it would pop into one of my storage bays in the Class A. OK, requesting some hill climbing with that thing. We are looking at the same mass riding it. Oh, how wet can it get. Can you ride it in the rain. Would be nice for our planned trip to Alaska or some of our other trips. Another test would be load it up with extra weight (over 260) and see how it does. And of course if you could get them to send you a second scooter you could do some scooter jousting
Heck yea man this would totally fit in the basement of the Rv. Unfortunately it doesn’t do well at all with inclines so you may wanna look at another option they have. They do have something similar and the same size with pedals though. Maybe one day we can demo one of those. lol. Scooter jousting is dangerous!!!! Haha
Pretty cool review on the scooter. I'm thinking of getting one myself to get around much easier instead of wasting time driving around looking for parking.
lol thanks for watching again, brother. Yea I agree. These things are pretty cool and I’m surprised how far they can go. My bet is there’s a whole bunch of spots to fly close to home and you wouldn’t even have to move the car. It’s in the mid 90s here right now though so it’s a bit warm to be outside too long. lol. Worst part is I work outside! Haha
2 gopro one forward and one on you, for comparison, the screen on the skooter is blinking , might be the refresh rate of the screen and maybe a different frame rate on the camera might pick that up, fun video
I’d love to try 2 GoPros but Kristi said one is enough. Hahaha. I keep looking on their website to see if anything is coming down in price to I could sweet talk her into a 2nd camera but nothing yet. Awesome brother , what a great review! That scooter looks impressive, decent speed, decent brakes , looks comfortable too! Are the tyres just air filled like car tyres or run flats? What’s the retail price on it buddy and what they like for replacement parts? Made a nice change to see this review from you instead of the drone , maybe you could go into e bike tests if your dji drones end up getting banned 😂 fingers crossed they don’t though! Is this scooter available worldwide or just USA? Maybe get Dwight up in the air on the next one and have him tracking you mate , be a good watch that! lol thanks for watching, man. Yea I agree. This scooter seems to be almost perfect for us being in the flat country of Florida. lol. I can say it doesn’t like inclines too much but it could be me being bigger than it’s intended for. Haha. The tires are pneumatic and hold up to 40 psi max and I think it’s listed for $499 US but you can save $50 with our link (allegedly). Dude if the Chinese drone ban happens we may have to do exactly what you say. lol. I wonder if these companies would still reach out to us if we no longer flew drones. Hahaha. My understanding is this scooter is available worldwide. It’s cool though that’s they’re headquartered here in the USA. I’m still pondering the follow up video topic but the tracking option is definitely way up on the list. Heck yea!

Maybe me and wife should do a side by side comparison showing how this fat boy can inhibit Hovsco abilities vs how it’s supposed to be. lol. I do have to say it’s perfect for Florida though.

I was reading on the NTSB website, if a guy who is 5 ft 12 and over 200 lb is on one of those scooters, he must wear a yellow strobe light, or oscillating light on top of his hat. Lol. Should you get an extra couple of minutes sometime, I have some technical questions for you pertaining to video shoot I've been struggling with.
