• Using Alphas in Nomad ...
If you are already doing the course I would appreciate any comments about how it all worked out for you and add any pointers for people looking to join us in the course forums!
If you already have our Tyrannosaur course then this isn't going to be much use to you I'm afraid. This is a FREE CHAPTER from the course and is intended to give artists a glimpse into the content and see how we structure and deliver our paid training.
I’m really blown away by what you’re able to do with this app. Amazing work!
Thank you so much!
Your use of layers here is enlightening...dialing in textures & details. All kinds of possibilities...🤔 Thanks 🙏🍷🎩🎩🎩
Having completed the course, I can definitely recommend it. Absolute novices might want to visit the beginners course first (I did), but if you already know your way around Nomad then this is a must. It gives invaluable lessons in workflows as well as in being able to digitally sculpt a T Tex of your own. Thoroughly recommended 👍
for anyone on the fence about buying or starting this course, it covers everything you need to know about sculpting in Nomad! I loved this course and felt like it was really easy to follow. I would recommend taking some time to try your own alphas and play with the settings so you can make adjustments on the fly if something isn't quite working right for you.
the other thing that I loved about this class was that they videos weren't too long and they were broken up into segments so it was easy for me to go back and relearn lessons or segments where I needed direction on my own projects apart from the Dinosaur lesson.
its a great video series that will be a great reference for your other projects as well.
Great job. I happily bought the course and I'm excited to get into it. I hope that this program never loses its accessibility. It's progressing at such a rapid pace and seems to be exploding in capability just as it exploded onto the scene.
These last two videos are great. I’ll wait to finish the Beginners series before tackling the T Rex.
I discovered I could organize my alphas into folders inside the main Nomad folder on my iPad. It makes it a lot easier to find the categories when I sculpting.
Great idea for organizing. Thanks!
Ace mate ( it's James.rickards) - keep emailing coming! :)
thank you very much for sharing the knowledge
Oh I loved this. Thank you.
Is it me, or are you're enjoying Nomad and iPad more than Zbrush and pc?:)
Hahaah! I do indeed love nomad and the Ipad but I will never fall out of love with ZBrush. I do wish it was on the Ipad now though. Check out my @southerngfx Instagram if you ever think I'm giving up on ZBrush.
Amazing, as ever
Great tut! Thank you for your knowledge!
How did you get your alphas on the side menu like that?
Can you use Zbrush alphas in nomad? Like an alpha is an alpha, and you can use them on any program?
For sure. Any alpha image is fine.
Please add an update with directions about the brush falloff with the newest update. Do I use catmull-rom or spline?
Hoping I made the right choice to get nomad instead of forger. I am signing up for your beginner course. Can the textures and painted assets be moved over to cinema 4d or blender.. Or do you need to repaint them? I guess I'm wondering if nomad is good for creating characters to animate.... Then move them to other programs for rigging and animation... Guess Ill find out haha. Signing up now.. Cheers thanks for the awesome videos.
Is there still a way to get the aphas you use in Nomad?
how do you delete imported alphas? i have a bunch of weird criss cross patterns, i have no idea when they got there, i have not imported them. but how do you delete the alphas that you dont want, just to clean up the work area to only have the ones you use?
where do you make the custom fall off? im in the newest version and it does look like this, i cant fing where to make the "sharp table" fall off. if i go to the new "fall off" tab there is a "preset, catmull,b-spline" option, but nowhere where you can do that sharp table. i guess im missing something. or you might explain this in some other video.
you are the best by the way, the best explenations on any software i have ever seen on youtube.
sorry, found it, if i clicked on the dots they switched from round lines to straight.
How to create human skin?
Found it haha.
You beat me. I was about to answer
@@SouthernGFX love your videos man. Like the old-school photoshop tutorials. Would be awesome to have a selection of quick shorts though, just an idea. Although I understand you have more tutorials and courses which I may sign up for when I get a bit better.
