I always found that the warriors system was most beneficial for veterans who know their role, not young guys still developing. I hate that the warriors GM is so arrogant that he believes he can develop these young guys and compete at the same time, that has hardly happened in nba history

This is something us warriors fans have been saying for YEARSSS!!! It's great to see that all NBA fans are starting to see all the flaws in Kerr's system. I think FIBA failure and then what happened in the Olympics has also helped magnify Kerr's offensive issues. These issues have always been present but they're even more glaring now with the Warriors aged stars and worse team. Back in KD years our offensive issues were covered up by KD, a young Steph Curry, a pre injury Klay, Iggy and Livingston off the bench. Great video ! Hopefully you can reach 7k by the end of the year. Keep it up man !

I don't want to go too long, but so much going on here. One the Warriors organization is doing what they do especially with the new CBA designed to stop the Warriors! They are mad that Kuminga did not take the money offered which is fair! Also, Kuminga has many flaws that he should not have especially 4 years into his career. I don't want to break him down but here we go, he is not comfortable doing anything on the court! He needs to play! Create his own shot from anywhere! Pass when teammates are open! Stop getting stripped when he drives. Podz, sucks and needs to be traded! Kerr is giving him a special privilege Jk, Pool, Wiseman, and TJD have not received! Pool, Wiseman, JK all went to the G-League multiple times. Podz zero times. Podz makes mistakes, and Kerr says that he is going to play many minutes. Not the same for Moody, JK, TJD!

Good points. Kuminga and Moody were drafted off of talent, and theyre still assessing if they fit. I think Kerr ultimately wants kuminga not to play like Iggy, but to play like Otto Porter JR( same size basically). But Porter was already 28 when he came to the warriors and fit right into the read n react style of play on both ends.
Kuminga is 22. He needs 4-5 more seasons.
Kuminga has way more atheltic potential than Otto Porter JR, but he doesnt fit Kerr's system.
Ive personally been really against over-use of Kerrs motion offense this season and have been advocating for more Curry on ball with PNR schemes.
This may be like a Dyson Daniels situation, where if he stayed on the Pels, his full potential might not have been realized 😂

  • @ididntaskverified3663

Everyone that wants to play like curry needs a team around them like a young curry, but the funny thing, that offensive scheme is dated and the Celtics 2024 with 50 3s a game and elite defensive players in Derrick, holiday, Jaylen, Tatum and porzingis have 2x 3pointer volume as the 2017 warriors with 28 3s a game.

Been thinking about this recently, I think I'm starting to get why KD (apparently) started to not really like Kerr. There is Hypocrisy there with Who can do What. I've seen plenty of games where Steph & Dray (love em both) are just hot playing potato tossing the ball to the opponents...nothing happens. It's a System that needs minimum 2 Elite Long Distance Shooters. We have one (Prime Klay is gone). Adapt

I lived in the East Bay most of my life, and i am a died in the wool Warriors fan, but I live in Sac now. I think JK is a much more talanted player than Keegan Murray, but the Kings have given Murray the playing time and a clear role so he can develop. Kerr has not that done that with any of his young players. The Warriors have not developed a drafted player since Kerr got there. Kerr was a good coach when he had 3 HOF players in their prime, but no so much otherwise

  • @Mikita1971

Speak louder King. I always believe this Team needs to play through Kuminga. Steph is our leader & the head of the snake. But teams are getting smarter after all these years of getting torched. They're defending the 3 & not caring about the paint cause we have no one that can attack it consistently. By playing through Kuminga teams HAS to come help thus opening up the 3 point line for Steph. People hate to admit it but think of how Lebron plays. It's always give Lebron shooters cause he'll kick it out when he needs too. Not saying JK is Bron but utilize that same concept. Play through JK strengths. While taking the pressure off Steph. We all know JK isn't a shooter so why are we having him float around the 3 to pass? & if Steph can't get a shot off & passes to JK...then what? We should be playing inside out. Time has changed. Wtf happened to "Strenght in Numbers?" It's just Steph Ball now. We saw what happens when you let Kuminga just hoop. The Rockets game was the result of what he can do if given the green light. Steph was out but it goes to show what JK can do

  • @dysic00

Kerr's comments was definitely about JK. That guys takes horrible low iq shots. With that said, Kerr is a horrible coach if this is the mindset he is instilling to the team. If I'm Jk or Podz, i'm not taking a single shot in the next game.

Many people may have taken Kerr's quote to mean pass the ball TO Steph when in actuality what he was saying is that keeping the ball moving gets the defence in rotations and that is when Steph is most dangerous, teams will often lose contact with him completely or overhelp on him leaving others wide open or unguarded.
That said Kerr does deserve a lot of blame and the development of the young guys have been rough indeed. His motion offense relies on players filling certain roles and playing a particular way and it's not one that just any player can do let alone young guys still learning the game. The reason Podz gets so many minutes despite having regressed some from his rookie season is that he plays the way Kerr wants and as against JK and Moody he has better ball handling and court awareness much of the time.
Podz statement also isn't crazy it's a variation of what players around the league have said for years and will continue to say. It doesn't mean they are stupid or robotic it means that the speed of the NBA game is such that players don't actually have time to think through every decision they have to make. So much of players learning the game is getting comfortable anticipating the game rather than reacting to it. That's especially true for players who aren't nuclear athletes.
JK for all his raw talent clearly still hasn't yet had enough time on the court to really learn the game that way. He is for cure getting mixed messages from the coaching staff. They want him to be aggressive and tell him he's starting then next minute he blows a defensive rotation or what have you gets pulled and then his minutes get cut in half. Part of it too isn't always personal as much as might like to think so. Kerr is doing what he has always done he spends most of every season experimenting with line ups trying to find out what works best and also changing them to suit the matchup and the strategy the team wants to employ.

  • @derekm4819

Kerr is a lousy and very predictable coach. He rode HOFers coattails to success, but now the coattails are too weak to support his flaws, small ball nonsense, whack rotations and player usage. Those midget line-ups can't defend or rebound. Over reliance on Curry is something the entire league knows is going to happen, so they simply key in, thus many of those turnovers. The guy is simply the absolute worse as it relates to handling and developing young players. I can't understand why they continue wasting seasons with him running the show.

There is literally 55 games left to play and we just got a new player in Dennis. It's gonna take some figuring out. If your youtube coaching was good enough, you would be a coach. But you're not. YOU MISSED THE POINT COMPLETELY IN YOUR VIDEO. Sorry mate but you didn't understand what Steve Kerr said.
He said and I quote : 'When you have Steph Curry in your team, you pass the ball'. He didn't say to pass the ball to Curry all the time. He was saying that Steph yes is the best option when you swing swing the ball from the weakside back to the strong side (when the D collapses) but also you pass because Steph is always attracting the D for you so you have an easy time on O if you just know how to execute with an advantage on the play while the D is busy neutralizing Steph. Naturally, if you have the extra pass the right play is to pass to Steph (in that Podz 3) and that has nothing to do with Steph per se but it is part of how you play winning basketball - create the best play possible and then execute.
Kerr is wrong about many things (for instance his lineups are atrocious) but in the context of how the Dubs play he is 100% right. You need to make the opposing D work. If you shoot a contested 3 early in the shot clock not only are you not tiring opposing defence, you are minimising your chance of getting a better look and that's the whole point of the motion offence. Tiring opposing teams also makes them less effective down the stretch as they won't have legs to run their things (as opposed to just jacking up shots and allow the opponents to run you down in transition play after play)

Coach Kerr has been in the league longer than his players have been alive. I dunno.
