my hard tube was a bit too long,, i used airline tubing to add length to it and i can adjust it to the prefect depth in the hatchery, i also connected tubbing and a second valve to the bottom, so once the main needle valve is open i can adjust the flow into a bottle or a small jar for freezing. I just make a big gallon jug of salt water i just pour that in after i clean the hatchery,, be sure you clean it after each hatching! I use a whisper pump rated for 5 to ten gallons it works great it was like five bucks on amazon. It came with a valve so you can adjust the air flow if you like. To calibrate the hydrometer, just use what ever water you are using before you add salt to it ,,and set it to zero. very easy. they come with a tiny screw driver to adjust it. If your water is to soft a pinch of baking soda will stabilize and buffer the Ph. When i feed my tank i just dump it all in, a massive orange cloud. it makes sure everyone gets some, what is left gest caught in the sponge filters and the corys clean that up
Nice real world info on this product! I was intrigued when I first saw this product pop up online a while back and it's nice to see Cory is now stocking them. The only thing holding me back is the price and the fact that I do not need to hatch so many brine shrimp at the same time. I like to feed baby brine on a daily basis in small batches which means I have two hatcheries going at any given moment so I would need two of these. My hatcheries are currently setup a la @deansfishroom and I don't see that changing anytime soon. Thanks for the video! Keep doing what you're doing!
Craig Coss to be honest. If you’re doing small batches stick to the bottle setup. This thing can hatch a massive amount. It is a nice product but if I was doing small hatches I would recommend staying with a smaller bottle.
Are you saying that you cannot attach a standard piece of plastic tygone tubing to that base attachment! You are claiming it is twice the size of a standard piece of tubing! What size is it? How do you get the proper fit???
Yes it’s larger than standard air line tubing. I don’t know the actual size as I don’t use it with a hose. I just drain the hatchery directly into a brine shrimp net.
@@leo2o915 you don’t need to. Various sources say chlorinated water has no effect on the hatch rates. I just use dechlorinated water because I have access to it.

sure. If you can’t declorinate the water it will be ok. You can let the water sit for a few hours to off gas any chlorine.
