I played ESO for 5 years but quit bc i was addicted lol. I hope i can play AND finish TES VI before i die. I’m 32 right now 😂 i really wish Bethesda would let other trustful devs make more games in Tamriel while we wait in between main games. I think the biggest reason they're unwilling to let other devs touch their IPs is based purely on the reception to new vegas and it being developed by obsidian. Obsidian created the superior game in less time, and it was so good that 4 is considered an enormous downgrade, at least in regards to story, themes, and rpg mechanics. After that no more other devs cos that would mean they got a game to acc compete with rather than passing based purely on "Bethesda magic." I haven't played starfield yet, though, so hopefully that game stepped up in regards to its writing

I got absolutely hooked when I started playing, went through the Morrowind questline. The community was absolutely lovely. It feels like a real place of adventure, where you can walk up to some folks fishing or hanging out, have a chat about whatever, party up for an interesting quest or just go exploring together. It's the kind of game where you can make legit friends. Sadly though, I really fell off when I went to other lands, I suppose because I was first excited about revisiting places from Morrowing and didn't care about much else after that.

Morrowind felt like a survival game often times. It was harsh and unforgiving and I absolutely adored it as a kid. I also miss the Levitation skill so much...that needs to come back with the more robust hardware we have now. I remember exploring a dungeon/cave and noticing a faint light up near the ceiling. Welp, I levitate up there and sure enough there's a small little room carved out in the rock with one of the unique daedric masks up hidden up there! Incredible game. Which reminds me, please for the love of God Bethesda stop tying loot tiers to your character level! In Morrowind, you could kill a character wielding Deadric and loot it for youraelf even if you were low level! My first Deadric item in Morrowind was from killing a slave plantation owner. Such a great game! I love the reduction of hand holding in Starfield but they could go further with that imo

Morrowind is the best Elder Scrolls game change my mind. It deserves a remaster given how groundbreaking it is and that it saved Bethesda I was surprised it didn’t get a remastered port to modern consoles for its 20th anniversary. I hope Elder Scrolls VI brings back the classics RPG features/update them like Race stats, Attributes, Class, Birthsigns, plenty of factions (with restrictions and consequences), branching questlines and being able to kill any NPC even if it ruins quests because true immersion letting the player do whatever they want. Well we’ll see

there are 2 things i wish skyrim would allow: either transform or destroy the thieves guild, i am not a fan of the thieves guild and their ways in skyrim, i would either want to destroy them, or convert them into a more robin-hood-esque version that helps the poor
the 2nd one is that i wish we could have more dialogue options to help us make our character more diverse personality wise, like say: valiant, snarky, discreet, meek, polite, rude, etc
Also reminder: OpenMW and TES3MP are built from scratch stuff for Morrowind, OpenMW is basically Morrowind with less bugs and major quality of life changes, and TES3MP is Morrowind with Friends (and yes you can use mods)

Morrwind is so insanely impressive. Its not even nostalgia goggles. I was born 2 years after it was released & played it for the first time earlier this year. It has a bit of a learning curve, but if u get past the first few hours it starts to just click and its a gem. The writing is great, the cities are goregous, the spells are incredibly fun, and the immerson from needing to actually decipher where to go and how to get there is top tier. The only downsides are the daunting amount of modding to polish it up to a remaster level, and how good magic is. Ironically magic is so busted yet so fun that its hard to recommend Morrwind to anyone without telling them "you HAVE to explore the magic system"

Completely agree on the continued love for Skyrim. Was getting sick of our seasonal Skyrim re-re-re-releases, but I picked the anniversary edition up on my switch last week and can barely put it down. Something as simple as survival mode has made me fall back in love with the game, take my time to appreciate the small things, and really immerse myself in the world of Tamriel. A top 5 of all time, easily.

While I like survival mode, you can tell the game wasn't designed with it in mind. This is really noticeable with the "No Fast Travel" part. There are a lot of towns that don't have carriages. Having to walk or ride all the way from Dawnstar to Whiterun, because you want to go to Markarth or Riften is such a time sink. It's fun the first time, but after the fifth time you have to walk 20 minutes it gets tedious.
Same with the food system, the hunger meter goes down so quick you have to eat like 6 loaves of bread a day. I always had enough just by looting, but opening up the menu to click a button every 10 minutes gets tedious.
The sleep system seemed to be properly balanced.

I read through the Oblivion booklet so many times. I remember I couldn't figure out how to level up on my first playthrough and was reading the booklet and found out I had to rest in bed. I slept and was immediately level 12. lol

As a Legends fan, it's still alive and kicking! You'll find games in 20 seconds or less usually, and there are tonssss of decks that can be made

Between this channel and your main channel I’ve been really enjoying these bethesda videos! Bethesda is my favorite game studio and I always get lost in their single player games. Keep it up!

I love these videos! Have you thought of doing retrospectives on the games individually? Maybe starting from the beginning of the game series?

I love this series. My only concern with elder scrolls siz is how they seem to shrink everything character wise each iteration. Less weapons. Less armor types. Less skills. Doesnt ruin the games but man.

It is mind-boggling and astonishing how good you can make Skyrim look with mods. I’m still in disbelief every time I boot up my heavily modded game on PC. The game looked very mediocre on release. I remember the hate it was getting on console.
But my God, you can make Skyrim look better than a lot of today’s games. Not just in quality and clarity, but in art style and as an art form. It’s truly incredible.

Oblivion game of the year was my most played elder scrolls . Shivering isles, the arena, the dark brotherhood, the separate DLCs like the ice tower, the pirate cove, and the castle. I did everything over multiple playthroughs over multiple years I kept going back even though I had the achievements for it. I over played Skyrim aswell

What a great video, man. What a great, fun retrospective of the best games I ever played.
Of course Skyrim is the big one and is just as good today than it was back in 2012 and got undoubtedly the best mod community ever. I mean, I cannot think of a game that had so much gas in the tank. This game is 11 years old and legions of players are still invested in it. But, but, I will say only one thing: Oblivion. Oblivion is my personal all time favorite game ever and it was a that moment that I realized what videogames could become in the future. And the fact such a small team, 100 people, made that entire game makes it even more remarkable. You know what ? I'm reinstalling Oblivion right away. Its been several years I haven't played. Have a good day all.

You know instead of remastering Skyrim for the 5th time they should have remastered oblivion, morrowind and daggerfall for modern consoles. Tweak the controls to make it more playable and fun but why not Skyrim Special enchanted edition for ps5 series x

I don’t think ES6 will be all of Tamriel. I think it’ll be focused on a single province, but will have fully fleshed out and explorable deadric planes of oblivion.
