It's great how you can help me understand concepts in 3 minutes that my professor can't do in 3 hours. Thanks Dave. Everyone should share a little of same and click on his advertisements.
yea whenever I read these books I just think that with 2 sentences I could easily understand it but they always make things more complicated than it has to be
It's cool how after 5 years, his videos are much more easier to understand than hours of lecture in schools and universities. And he also replies to comments too!
I was depressed over my performance in Chemistry class for my first college semester, and was thinking of switching programs. Found your videos, and I can perfectly understand the subject on the first viewing. Your videos have saved me from failing my Chemistry course.
"It's bond, Ionic bond; electrons taken, not shared." Is at once a pop-culture reference, a haiku, a factual statement, a profound truth, and a useful mnemonic device. I have this knowledge forever now.
Your video series about chemistry is a lot easier to digest than Crash Course in my opinion, while I do love their videos this was a lot better for me to renew some of my chemistry knowledge. Keep up the good work!
In these 4 years of studying chemistry nobody explained me the difference between covalent bond and ionic bond 😢😥. Even academic videos are not explaining them. First time I understood perfectly the concept. Thank you so much professor DAVE!! 😁😁😄
When watching professor Dave's videos I purposefully turn my adblocker off to support Dave in some way, because spending 15 seconds watching an ad is much less than the 15 hours of studying Dave just saved me.
I laughed so hard at the James Bond reference. It made me remember how an ionic bond is. I find it very easy to learn while amused. Thank you for your video! (P.S. I have this science report due in two days about Bond Polarity and Physical Properties. This video helped A LOT)
So many people have said this already but this video is absolutely phenomenal. I learned more watching this 3 minute video than reading my textbook and taking notes for about 2 HOURS. thank you professor dave!
I have read over the study guides and the textbook several times, and it doesn't sink in or make sense, but I watch your videos and suddenly everything I have read makes perfect sense and makes it SO much easier to understand and help me remember! Thanks so much for these! (45 and studying to be a vet tech)
This is complicated terminology and concepts for a musician who studied this in high school 10+ years ago, yet I find it fascinating and your explanations are fantastic and very clear. Great series, thank you!!
i am so happy i found this video. I remember learning this at the beginning of ap bio this year, and didnt understand it. But now im studying for the may 11th exam and i finally get these terms after watching this video. Thanks professor Dave!!
I have had issues understanding these concepts and you broke it down so concisely but still in terms I was able to understand. Appreciate your channel!
Seriously- thank you for this video. I'm returning to study and I haven't covered the basics of Chemistry in 8-9 years, yet the way you explained all of this unlocked a whole-ass memory for me. Thank you, Chemistry-Jesus-Helperer Dave.
I've been returning to this vid many times a week and every time, I start losing focus seeing his eyes shift as he's reading the script, anyway, thank you for the vid, very helpful!!
Watched: an ionic bond is like sharing blocks to make everyone feel balanced and happy, covalent bonds can be polar or non polar, a covalent bond is like sharing your toys with a friend to build something cool together, non polar is when the electrons are shared more or less even.

I got more out of this than I did in a one hour lecture. You are the man, brother.
Wow you called jesus your brother?
The James Bond bit was brilliant
It's cool how after 5 years, his videos are much more easier to understand than hours of lecture in schools and universities. And he also replies to comments too!
stop scrolling in the comments and pay attention you need to do well on your test
okay :D
fuck off, what if I'm looking at comments after the video ended, bitch.
@@gky3019 Jeez man, no need to swear It was just a joke bro jesus.

After watching so many videos on the same topic this was by far the most helpful! THANKS!
Great video, I am cramming for a chem exam with your videos
me too!!! lol
sallyburger xD same here it's 11pm and my exam is tomorrow
ReDDPreDD I have one tomorrow too. Good luck.
Cramming for Chemistry will always be timeless
sallyburger omg me too!
Everything you say is so much simpler and easy to understand than my professors. Keep up the good work!
i love your pfp
love absolutely everything on your channel, nothing is ever convoluted and also so easy to understand!! thank you chemistry jesus

You are from India, I felt the same too, he is making everything clear
i just want to know how
🤔
in 4 years of studying chemistry you should have just educated yourself on these matters... thats sad tbh LOOL

The clearest most concise explanation I’ve heard on the topic! Great job Dave.
I graduated Uni almost 4years ago, I decided to revisit Chemistry and oh my days, you are making it make sense.

Electrons taken - Not Shared in Bonds voice. Fukn Genius! Can never. NEVER. Forget this! Thanks P.Dave!
My chemistry teacher links your videos at the beginning of each online lesson. I guess even the teachers understand that you're the best there is.
Bro Professor Dave Explains I actually don't know what I'd do without you thank you so much

What about electronegativity difference between two atoms is between 1.7 and 20.0
I am so glad my brother showed me this Video, Professor Dave! My teacher take 30 minutes to explain this! Thanks Professor Dave!
I love that you use the word "participating". Thanks for a great tutorial

Brilliant! The smirk after the James Bond joke was charming.
He's literally my prof during online classes.

You explained this concept very well, and now I'm 1 step closer to not failing my science quiz/test/exam. Thanks, Professor Dave!!
After college chemistry and 1/4 semester of A&P, I finally get it. Thanks dude :)
I seen multiple videos about this subject yours was the best and easiest to understand thank you
I fall in love with your teaching
Best video i have ever watched. I didn't know it was that easy, my teacher made it too complex.
Well I'm back to your channel again after 3 years. You always made my life easier thank you for your work sir
There are people who dislike the videos of professor like you ..OMG the world has changed
You had my upvote at "Bond, Ionic Bond"
Another helpful tip is that nonmetals+metals always from ionic bonds and nonmetals + nonmetals always form covalent bonds.
This helped me so much!! i was so lost in class, and other explanations just left me confused, but this cleared things up!!
Thank you for this amazing and short lecture
even if this video was posted 8 years ago it still saved my life
im in ap chem and never fully understood these concepts in my chem honors class, thank you so much because ive been STRUGGLING
pain.
THANKS for explanation
omg, thanks! I finally able to understand the difference between these bonds in just 3 minutes. such a big help! love your channel😘
I can't but dancing at the introduction .. Thank you for the video, 3:32 min better than my 2 hrs professor lecture
WOW holy cow I'm in college and this got it stuck in my head FINALLY!!!! Thank you so much! I like the way you explain.
i cannot thank you enough man ur literally about to carry me through the school year 🙏🙏
You are doing god's work thank you so much for this. I am realizing how simple chemistry can be when it is well explained.
my teacher cant relate
You mean my work ? Oh yeah !!
Oh god! I was having so much doubts with this topic and he just cleared it in a three minutes video..
Thanks so very much! Now I get how to identify if it's ionic, covalent, or nonpolar. This was a big help, thanksss
you taught me more this year than my full online professor ever did, which isn't saying much but still tysm professor dave
That was amazing. Thank you 🙏🏼 I had trouble grasping the concept and the visuals helped with that greatly 🙏🏼
You sweet sweet beautiful man this is the only video I can find that actually helps me understand this!
I always wanted such an explanation for this topic....just loved it... thanks..
Thanks for this video!!! I’ve a chemistry test tomorrow!!!

Watched this video in chemistry class today. Was so excited to see professor Dave!
This was so helpful! I had absolutely no hope of understanding this but now i do! Thank you!
If I was financially independent I'd totally support your patreon, nice work
Very clear and simple explanation
1:25 Hey prof, don't you think the diagram has an error cuz electrons are sticking to one another which isn't really the case
They're not stuck to each other they're just inhabiting the same region.
Laid it out perfectly. So concise and clear, thank you very much!!
CHEM EXAM TOM U JUST HELPED ALOT THANKS
BEST EXPLANATION!!!
Thank you Professor Dave, I was out sick for the week we covered this in class and my teacher couldn't make time to catch me up to speed.

that james bond part was funny, now I'm never forgetting ionic bond 😂 "taken not shared" - ionic bond vs. "Shaken not stirred" - James Bond
Why is chemistry so hard?! Thankfully, for poor little confused college kids like me, we have you! :) Thank you, Chemistry Jesus lol
